I’m Back in Granite Hills to Maintain this Front Succulent Garden

  • One and a half years of growth on these awesome specimens! I truly cannot believe how happy all of these succulents are in this garden. The homeowner has such a green thumb. When working with mangave, we found that it’s easiest to get underneath the plant with a shovel to pop off the babies. You can also trim back infringing leaves without causing any harm to the plant. I spotted some aloe mite and removed the plants that were infected. We will keep our eyes out for more sores next time we come back to this property. Please ask any questions down in the comment section. Thanks for watching and subscribing! Happy gardening everyone!

Hello Laura this is Heila from South Africa, they call that plant (Small Soapweed) the other name is (Yucca glauca - Yuccas). It is native to North America and thrives in desert conditions. Thank for your wonderful and informative website. Have a lovely day.

The huge Aloes with the bright orange flowers are knockouts!! The botanic garden at U of C, Berkeley can help you to identify the variegated Yucca.

I love viewing all of these succulent and cactus gardens-It is my serenity- I’m in the Midwest -Wisconsin. So I do your idea of ribboning and rock design with perennials that I can grow here. Wish I could grow succulents year round too! My temperature is -15 below today!

I love seeing this installation I thought it was beautiful but oh my! It's become even more so! I was wondering . . . When you cut out a plant that has alomite, can you replace it with another aloe right away? Or is there contaminated ground and you have to wait for the alomite to die out first?
