Hopefully by going through this process with you, you get some inspiration for what you can do with your own yard, front garden, or front entryway to your home.

Thank you very much for this sweet message! I have to admit every time I pull into my driveway, the contrast btwn the colorful pumpkins and the black mulch makes me smile. It's so wonderful when things come together! 😊❤️

Excellent work! If I were to pass by your garden, I would definitely have to stop and admire, and probably snap a few photos too.

I came back to watch the video again to see if you used any landscape fabric or just layered the mulch. I think I’m going to try the no fabric style up front, I’d like to be able to add or remove plants easily. I’m gonna be brave and pray I don’t have to fight weeds! Thanks Nicole!

I've tried using the fabric in the past and then once the mulch broke down and made dirt, the weeds just grew on top anyway 🙃 Plus you're right, I like to be able to add and remove easily, too!

New to your channel. Love it because you are in my near backyard. I'm a Carolina girl also. I was wondering when i looked back at 2023 and saw your succulents out in the full sun last year. How did you keep them from burning in the summer sun. I have all mine in pots out of late all day sun. I've burnt some by leaving them there. Yours look wonderful. Keep up the great work. Enjoy hearing from you.

Hi there! I feel quite fortunate because I've had no trouble with my succulents burning in the sun. Most of mine want full sun (though admittedly, a couple had no tags saying precisely what they were so I took a chance). I was more concerned with how they'd winter. II'll keep you posted as they perk back up 😊 Thank you so much for reaching out, my Carolina neighbor! 💚

I absolutely love the ideas throughout the video!!! Also, that was a great choice for the light colored Evergreen Shrubs. I think bright yellow and green plants and shrubs are great for fall, It really makes a garden pop. Thank you for sharing this video!! Your garden ideas and improvements look amazing 👏

For an evergreen shrub, I prefer a Yaupon Holly because they are natives, which we need more of in our yards, and also because they provide free tea with their leaves. If you've never made Yaupon tea, you're missing out!

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing your ideas. What is the type of tree/shrub you are standing in front of at the beginning of your video?

Thanks for your kind message! The tree in the beginning is a magnolia 😃

Beautifully done! I’ve been wanting to ask you about your fence and what you used to give it that beautiful color… it really stands out and compliments the backyard garden. You’ve really inspired me and Im already planning my Spring tasks to start my new garden!

Thank you very much! If I was able to spread a little inspiration to you, then I am satisfied! Thank you for asking about the fence stain because I agree, it adds some nice color. I will get right back to you with the brand & color 😁
