I love this entire series, seeing other Garden Answers fan’s gardening Spaces is wonderful and has brought me a sense of community. I feel like I’ve definitely found “my people”.
I totally agree. Even perusing UA-cam and even my own neighborhood, it feels like there are only a few of us. Looking at this video, really makes it feel like a much bigger community. 🤗
My raised beds are no where near this fancy, but it is quite functional. On a SS budget, I used what I could get mostly for free. I have used several large mineral tubs given to me by a local farmer, wood that I picked up from construction sites also given to me. As I get things done I paint the containers so it does look more consistent. I love it and it is such a functional space.☺
I consider my current house a temporary home... so I am cautious with my budget, while things may not be exactly the same or as fancy as some of these as I go I paint to keep things appearing more consistent.
It's so great to hear people reusing materials to make things on a budget that bring them joy!! The majority of the people in the world can't afford super deluxe, but these bring ideas and inspiration to create with what you have got! 😍⚘️🌱🏵
I totally get it. My budget is definitely not high end, but I learned, like you, to use what you have! I also try to teach by example for my daycare kiddos (and their families) how to grow their food on limited incomes and help the Earth.
Laura I got my Hoselink in the mail yesterday. After watching your channel and researching for years I finally got one. I had a bit of buyers remorse due to the expense but after hearing how much you love yours (again) I have decided to keep it. Thank you to you and your family for encouraging us all to try new things. I watch you every morning with coffee and my 3 dogs and it is what I look forward to everyday.
You won't regret it once you install/use them! I ended up buying 2 (front yard and back yard) and while a hassle to install into our Stucco house they are worth it EVERYTIME I use them and just "pull and walk" to put them away - definitely worth the investment!
Zone 3a here. Some years spring starts in April, but most years it's May and sometimes we don't thaw until June. In recent years you wanna wrap up your grows in October here, watching the forecast obviously. Starting seeds indoors here is a MUST for most things to have an ensured quality harvest.
I loved seeing what other people did for their raised bed gardens! My husband and I built a 30x30 fenced in raised garden in 2020 and I am still making little adjustments every year. I am hoping this year will be our best year yet!
So happy to see my fellow Ohioans represented!! As a 26 yo gardener it’s easy to wish we lived somewhere with a longer growing season and shorter winters. This video (and many others of yours over the years) has inspired me to re design not only my beds, but my parent’s and brother’s as well! Gotta get the entire family in shape so I have gardens all over north east Ohio to enjoy this summer. 💚
I'm happy to actually see a northern gardener from my zone actually featured in a UA-cam video - the very first person featured is from my garden zone (3b) and we are SO badly under-represented in the YT garden community it's like we don't exist lol
Thank you so much for including our garden submission Laura! Everything we know about gardening, we’ve learned from watching your videos. So great to see all the other raised bed ideas - I’m feeling so inspired!!
Happy Friday Garden Answer friends! Thank you all for sharing your gardens. I love the ideas and progression shots. All beautiful and I know alot of hard work and labor of love has gone into your areas. All of them Lovely! So nice to see green and colored blooms of what will be in the coming months. I am in Michigan 5b and we have had rain up until yesterday and ended up with snow mid day. Enough to cover the ground. Hoping the weekend will bring some sun and it will melt away. Enjoy your day all.
I love all the inspiration of this video! I have been wanting to design a raised garden spot in my yard and my husband is reluctant due to the fact he believes "a garden should be on the ground".(Even though he won't be the one to tend the garden😉) I plan to re-watch this video with him so he can understand why I want it up off the ground and also so he can see how beautiful it can be when done right. We have been looking on Market Place for taller dog kennel fencing to use around the garden space to keep deer at bay....recycle/reuse. Thank you, Laura and Aaron, for "hosting" these types of videos for others to share their own spaces. I love it! Have a great weekend!♡
Laura, what a fun video! I get loads of inspiration seeing how other folks plan out their gardens, especially the different raised bed styles. I definitely need to elevate my garden beds to make them more accessible and pleasant to work in. Bless everyone who shared their wonderful garden photos. I positively love it! I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend! ~Margie
It would be great to see how people have designated areas to compost, along with a garden shed one(also looking for ideas). Thank you for all the great videos, from zone 4-6a Canada.
That's kinda like what I sent in for the BEFORE/AFTER videos, but they didn't make the cut.😔 They were from my evolved garden on a budget and showed how I incorporated an old lean-to shed that came with our property, a planned out compost area, a diy fountain that I made from Dollar Tree items and space for a future recycled window greenhouse. I really wanted to show that even those on a tight budget can still make an enjoyable and productive space. Feel free to message me if you want me to send you the pictures and some planning tips.
Ha ha ha. I have an old Chevy pickup bed on the ground near my “ far” garden with mostly a raspberry forest and some young apple and apricot trees but also 12 rows of dirt to plant up.
This gave me such valuable information, we are planning our raised bed garden, and yes its worth it to make them tall from the beginning...I'm now retired and two knee replacements, and those low beds are a challenge sometimes.
I love this series of viewer submissions and it gives me so much inspiration BUT for those of us starting out this year just know you don’t need a beautiful garden right off the bat! My garden looks flimsy and a little sad compared to these but I know I’m just starting off so I hope no one got discouraged, there’s always time to improve ❤️
I am doing the same, using what I have and what I can acquire for free. I am mostly container gardening with large barrels cut in half and using 5 gallon buckets. I just got some wooden boards for some raised beds for free from a guy that owns a sawmill. It's just the rounded outer edges of the cut logs but beggers can't be choosers when it's free. My motto is work with what you have until you can do better and there's always next year for more improvements.
All the featured gardens were beautiful. Thanks to all the folks who submitted and thanks to Garden Answer for sharing. I have enjoyed this series of videos so much. They are chalked full of amazing inspiration. #GardenGoals
Laura & Aaron & Sister in Law, Thank You for doing these videos! I know the work lift is big. I cannot tell you what a gift it is to see what others are willing to share with us. Laura’s ability to point out things & find a warm comment is graciousness personified. I’m pretty private & reserved about my garden-but admit that I’ve shared pictures with others who asked because of the community here. I’m so grateful that you’ve evolved the channel beyond those “gift opening” videos of the past…because THIS format feels like a gift to everyone. 🥰
I’m in Saskatchewan and annuals start showing up in stores around May 1st but we’re better off waiting until about 3 weeks into May before planting them. The cold would take them sometime in October. Summer is precious to us here being so short!
Northern BC zone 3 and we don’t plant until after May long and even then some years it’s a gamble 🤪 -50 or colder with wind chill for at least one week of the winter too
Every year I say I’m going to wait but the spring excitement gets the best of me and I’m out there covering everything up because of risk of frost! It’s all part of the season I guess🤷🏻♀️
These were all so beautiful! So many handy husbands too! I wish I had done this years ago but I am now to old to have these in my yard, so I will live vicariously through all of the photos and your accomplishments in your raised bed garden as well!! Thank you so much for giving us this gift!
Shucks! We were hoping to see ours today! But, man what some gorgeous gardens! Even seen some ideas we need to incorporate for our climbers. Thanks GA for helping us out with fresh ideas from some great green thumbs!😊
Those raised bed gardens were all beautiful! Gardeners are so creative! The last garden from Ohio must have been northwest Ohio, where the land is FLAT!!! Huge farm country. Lots of space for growing. The sunrises and sunsets there are spectacular! Kudos to all the hard working gardeners who shared their photos! I love seeing how other people utilize their spaces.
I can’t love this enough! Planning on building raised beds this year. So very inspiring. Thank you for the video and all those who submitted their wonderful creations! Just beautiful ❤️
I had no idea that there were such things as concrete corner blocks for building garden beds. That just might be a game changer for me! I love seeing all of these beautiful ideas. Thanks, everyone and Laura, for sharing with us. Let's do this again next winter!
I’m so impressed with the frequency of your videos!!! I’m a first-time, first-year (until June) homeowner and intrepid gardener, and your channel has been inspiring me all winter! People wouldn’t know how much work you put into these videos because they are so naturalistic, look effortless and are like inviting a friend over to talk gardening. From planting spring bulbs last fall for the first time to starting my first seeds indoors, you have already given me so much guidance! Looking forward to when I can submit photos of my establishing garden your way!
2 Days Ago I Built A 12'×6" Raised Bed Out Of A Large Fence Panel, I Cut Up Some Old Fence Post For The Corners, It Looks Great, Waiting For Dry Day To Do More Outside Wood Staining .🤗🧄🍅🍉🌽🌕
Such beautiful raised beds. I think I’m going to have to start on some myself. I really like the galvanized roofing kind with gravel walkways. I would definitely benefit having the taller heights, making access easier. Being in some of these lush green gardens would be so therapeutic! Laura and Aaron, I can’t thank you enough for brining this to us!💚💚💚
I too am going with the galvanized roofing, but I am going to special order roofing that comes with a coloured finish on one side. The brand my Home Depot carries has more than three dozen colours to choose from. Will look great with black stained wood, and won't look quite so industrial. Though I still do like the natural colour. Instead of a factory-applied paint, I am tempted to use Cor-tens. Gotta love rust!
So nice to see what someone from Reno is doing. We are in Dayton, NV (45-60 minutes outside of Reno). New to the area and trying to figure out what to grow here
I got two Hoselinks (one for front yard and one for bark yard) last year after seeing how enthusiastic you were about yours. So thankful I no longer have to wrestle with manual hose reels! Thanks for the recommendation!
Laura, you are just a love! I live in NYC and only dream of a garden right now. Your enthusiasm and kindness and everything you share give me a chance to love gardening now, too. And your joyfulness always makes my day. Thank you!
honestly, I LOVE HOW BEAT AND TIDY your garden is. I tried watching the minimal effort let everything grow wild stuff, and I can't. Your channel is the only one my personality can handle. I'm on zone 5a/ 5b so I genally can't even do most of what you do at same times. By my gosh you're garden is so clean and symmetrical, just gorgeous. Love it!
There are so many gardeners on UA-cam, but I keep coming back to your videos. You're so knowledgeable, full of bright smiles and passion for gardening, and watching you really relieves my anxiety. You're doing such a good job, please keep going. I loveeee your garden!
So inspiring! I am trying a wildflower garden this year in my open area, but definitely will plan for a raised bed project next year. Thank you Laura for always finding new and creative ways to inspire us! Happy planting!
Laura the Blue-Gray house with the raised beds from Lisa, that you liked so much, is located in Massachusetts, not New Hampshire. I know this because she's my daughter. Not sure how the mistake came about but thought I would take the time to set things straight. Lisa loves your channel, and so does my wife. We were thrilled to see Lisa's raised beds on this video! Thanks for all the happiness you bring to life!
Aaah, that makes sense. I was really confused when she said “New Hampshire, zone 7.” There’s probably 5 square miles on the coast in NH that is zone 7. 😂 Your daughter’s space is beautiful!
These raised bed videos are addictive and brilliant shares. Nice job growers. I bought 2 to start this year to be realistic in start up. Trust me the ideas are greatly appreciated...
What great raised bed ideas, especially the ones with high fences for those of us who live in deer country. I had no idea that you grow so much produce in so little a space! Thank you so much for putting these videos together, Laura! Since you are in the studio, I've been meaning to ask how the mosquito bits worked with the fungus gnat larvae. I'm dealing with fungus gnats in my house plants and don't really want to spring for the mosquito bits unless they worked. 🌸🌿
So good to hear of the "through the years" projects. We are trying out some 1 plank fold out raised beds on a section of garden this year, hoping for more permanent beds in future. We are.retlired, so the expenses need to be minimal. I also have 2 different raised beds we have built since moving here 3 years ago. One on side of garage out of block wall. It is nice to be able to sit, and worked in this sloping area. It is mainly for greens ,as it is filtered sun. The other is a wood raised bed from salvaged materials in a nice sunny spot. We have towering trees, so finding enough sun is a challenge. And this small.area.betwwen house and garage had room for a large raised bed.
Oh my goodness I am so excited. Laura picked my raised beds! She did say I lived in New Hampshire though. I live in Massachusetts. I don’t know if I put the wrong information in. I couldn’t be more thrilled. Thank you so much Laura.
This was so much fun to watch! We inherited two 3x6 raised beds when we bought our house but they are getting older and not positioned ideally. I want to create a new space in a sunnier part of our yard when we eventually replace the beds we have, and this video gives me so much inspiration!
We live in Parma Idaho and at 62 we’re just starting our project . We bought our place 2 years ago and the 8 acre property was greatly neglected. We really don’t know where to begin but I retired in Nov and I’m making a plan. Worked very hard all my life stripping and waxing floors and cleaning up the Boise Airport for 7 years and the Idaho Air National Guard for 20. What a huge difference between Boise area and the Apple Valley area. This video gave me some amazing ideas. Thank you.
Y’all are so inspiring, watched y’all from the beginning each morning look forward to watching your video before starting my day .. two weeks ago my husband started my 24” tall raised bed garden that I may use my mobility scooter .. I’m so grateful to get to enjoy a garden again .. y’all’s videos are a delight. Thank y’all Betty in Tolar Texas
I happened across this older video looking for different raised bed ideas, and this has that, but I really enjoyed all the differences viewers sent to you! What an excellent type of garden tour! I'll be saving this in my favorites to review later!
Loved the submission from Saskatchewan. Also my home province. Ordinarily grow season is May to September but we can use techniques and sometimes we can plant end of April to early October. We have lots of light and heat in the summer. Daylight can be 4 am to 10 pm.
I love seeing what everyone else is doing across the country and the world! It is so much fun and brings us all closer doing what we love - growing something! Thanks to everyone for sharing.
This video is really fun, it is nice to see what others have done with their gardens. Taking aging into consideration by building up the garden beds is a great idea.
Loved seeing everyone’s garden! I have raised beds surrounded by brick pavers. One 4x4, two 4x12, and one 4x20. Each year, I’m able to plant the beds in totally new ways. This year I’m excited to add cut flowers…. I too have no idea what I’m planting, but I know it will come together and be beautiful and satisfying in the end. Thank you for the creative ideas shared. They have given me inspiration!!! Happy Gardening 😁
So I thought going to Ireland 1 day for vacation.... Or maybe to even live.... Would you recommend it or what should I know possibly ? ? I hope your doing well dear... 😊
I really enjoyed all of the gardens and had to add to my to do list many of the beautiful ideas! I also garden on what I call a dime! Other than the wood for my beds I used found and saved items to begin. From 3 beds first year now I’ve added 6 herb planters a tall mobile strawberry planter and 2 ground squash beds. Thank you for sharing! Love the comments too!
This was a great idea for a video, seeing what others are doing is so helpful. We are in our late 70s and sure wish we would have put in raised beds when we first moved here 26yrs ago when gardening was much easier on our legs and backs! Anyone contemplating putting in raised beds should keep that in mind for sure.🌿
Wow the talent that’s out there is amazing , I’m so impressed with all the ideas of the raised beds ! I’m taking a few ideas of each one of these pictures, loved them all !🌸🪴🌺
I used small square hole screening at the bottom of my planters to keep out chipmonks and moles. Then put heavy anti weed paper. I also put in a lot of logs and wood chips then soil. If you use mushroom mycelium it breaks down the stuff you use to fill the bed. I also throw in all my grass cuttings. It works.
Hello to Vanessa in Saskatchewan from another zone 3b in southern Alberta! Our growing season is from about May to early September. We get the most sunshine per year in all of Canada, so there is a thriving vegetable greenhouse industry here!
I love this series. We are about to redo our ENTIRE backyard, including the plan for 1000-2500 sq ft garden. I took a few screen shots to add to my folder.
Thanks Garden Answer fans for sending in your photos and to Laura for sharing them! It's so much fun to see everyone's great ideas. I would like to see how people grow plants in challenging areas (warmer zone plants in colder areas, arid living plants in wet climates, plants that like acidic soil in alkaline environments, etc.). How have you "pushed the zones" and had success?
My raised bed materials are getting delivered today! Thanks for the inspiration. I might need to think about adding a sitting area to the design. They just looked so peaceful ♥️
I love seeing how others have set up their gardens. So, so inspirational! Wishing I could be out in my garden but it snowed again last night. Sigh! I just got a stackable Planter unit delivered this week. My project This weekend is to put that together and start a salad garden I can set it inside for now and later put it outside on my patio.
I´m doing my first raised beds ever this spring for my florist company. This video was so inspiring for me 🥺😍 I will have my flowers at my boyfriends grandparents house because we live in a one room apartment (with 80 plants and around 100 baby flowers right now 😅). I´m so excited for this year and I will probably cry when I make my frist ever bouquet with my own flowers 💐
If the ONLY thing I ever learned about from watching your videos was hoselink ... It was worth every second! Thank you! After 2/3 crappy house reels & lots of frustration I am thrilled with my hoselink! Of course that's just the BEGINNING of what I've learned & enjoyed. (And spent money on!)
We need to also see submissions for balcony gardening - I would love to show you what you have inspired me to do with my 2-4 feet balconies - all with 4 inch pots
This is my first time starting a garden and especially a raised bed and I love how you are so compassionate on everyone's ideas. I will be watching more videos to get as much information to start my new project. Thanks for all the direction
When you said Jessica from zone 7a sent in pictures I almost said outloud "No I didn't! Who would have sent in pictures of my garden?" Then the first picture came up and I realized there is another gardener named Jessica in zone 7a with a raised bed garden. I feel like a kindred spirit already. We just redesign our garden in 2021 to be raised beds made with masonry and concrete stones. You're welcome to take a look at the video I shared last month. I LOVED seeing all the other elegant designs you shared. Maybe I will be discipline enough to keep things that neat one day.
Love this video!! To all the people that submitted pictures of their vegetables gardens you all did awesome!! So creative and beautiful!! Thanks Laura for this video. Great ideas!!
I just stumbled across your channel and I subscribed! Looking at how others have planned/built their gardens is inspiring. Your support is encouraging. I need some advice before building our garden. My husband is wheelchair bound. Designing raised beds aren't a problem, but the gravel is a no-go for wheelchair tires. I would greatly appreciate some pics from your followers who have overcome this problem. Thank you for posting! Blessings, health, prosperity and peace to you and yours and to all who read this! 😘👍😇💖
Thank you Laura for sharing all these wonderful beds. I love all the videos you post of what other gardeners are doing. Hope your day is blessed as much as you are blessing ours! Hugs from N.N.C..
Nice job, everyone! I can't wait until I have purchased my land so that I can get to work on my expansive vegetable garden, food forest/orchard, wildflower meadow, and my many flower gardens!
loved all the gardens and how people do things so much the same and still so different. Would love to hear from the viewer in Ontario Canada and where they obtained their materials, I am reasonably new to Central Ontario and am looking for reasonably affordable materials myself. Have been spending the last few years repairing, fixing and generally improving this once seasonal home into a full time living space. Best of luck to you and all your viewers for this upcoming season.
the viewer submission videos are so fun and full of inspiration! wish i could go walk/talk and have a coffee/cocktail with some of these folks in these gardens.

I just went to your channel, and WOW!! 🤩 Your garden is gorgeous! Well done 👏🏻💚
@@trainingolives3370 thank you ☺️
Those raised bed gardens were all beautiful!
Good morning GA! That's an awesome timing, because I want to make some raised beds for my vegetables! Thanks Laura and everyone that submitted! 🤗💜🤗
Lowes & HD have them outside in the garden area
I’m so impressed with the frequency of your videos!!! I’m a first-time, first-year (until June) homeowner and intrepid gardener, and your channel has been inspiring me all winter! People wouldn’t know how much work you put into these videos because they are so naturalistic, look effortless and are like inviting a friend over to talk gardening. From planting spring bulbs last fall for the first time to starting my first seeds indoors, you have already given me so much guidance! Looking forward to when I can submit photos of my establishing garden your way!
currently relocating my garden, this is just what I need!
2 Days Ago I Built A 12'×6" Raised Bed Out Of A Large Fence Panel, I Cut Up Some Old Fence Post For The Corners, It Looks Great, Waiting For Dry Day To Do More Outside Wood Staining .🤗🧄🍅🍉🌽🌕
Love this! How about a Raised Beds part 2? Maybe one that is all portager gardens? Thank you for providing us with all this lovely inspiration!
Good morning, Laura☕️ So fun! They’re all gorgeous. 😍 Have a Blessed day 😊🐈
Such beautiful raised beds.
New to the area and trying to figure out what to grow here
Love seeing everyone’s raised bed gardens!
Good Morning, Laura! Have a great day!
Beautiful gardens. The last one is right up my alley. Bigger is better.😊
Third year gardener here.
I can’t believe how much more “put together” my garden seems this year. Adding just a bit every year helps a lot! 🥰
I got two Hoselinks (one for front yard and one for bark yard) last year after seeing how enthusiastic you were about yours. So thankful I no longer have to wrestle with manual hose reels! Thanks for the recommendation!
Such an enthusiastic, supportive and encouraging spirit. A breath of fresh air.
I love seeing everyone’s garden. Big thank you to everyone who shared their personal space with us. I love them all!
Wow! It's looking so good and perfect.
Good morning! What beautiful gardens. Love seeing what everyone does for their gardens.
All those raised beds are spectacular!! I love all of them! Congratulations to all who sent in pictures & video! 😃💚📸📹🌿
I love all the different pictures of people raised beds. Each persons beds are just gorgeous
Hi Rhonda, I used the mosquito bits and sticky tape. Happy to report both worked!!!!
Congratulations Lisa! Your father and I are beyond thrilled you were featured on Garden Answer today.
Just love seeing the design they all vary so much. This inspires me to get going on a raised bed area.
My ❤ is feeled with such a warm feeling to see so much happiness everyone reflects in the work they have done. God bless everyone.
I really love the raised beds made of stones. It gives the whole area a rustic feel.
These garden beds make mine look sad. I need to up my game. Thank you all for inspiration. GA forever❤️
My daily dose of Garden Answer😍🥰😍
So I thought going to Ireland 1 day for vacation.... Or maybe to even live.... Would you recommend it or what should I know possibly ? ? I hope your doing well dear... 😊
I really enjoyed all of the gardens and had to add to my to do list many of the beautiful ideas! I also garden on what I call a dime! Other than the wood for my beds I used found and saved items to begin. From 3 beds first year now I’ve added 6 herb planters a tall mobile strawberry planter and 2 ground squash beds. Thank you for sharing! Love the comments too!
Getting major April Wilkerson vibes from Dawn’s garden!! Looks amazing! ❤️
They are all beautiful!! Thank you to everyone who shared! I so want to do a raised bed garden.
It works.
I really enjoy seeing other gardens. Sharing this one with my daughter and son-in-law.
I wish there was a love button instead of just a like button! I'm so encouraged by everyone's gardens!
I bought two Hoselinks for my self, and just bought one for my best friend for her birthday! Love, love love them!
My raised bed materials are getting delivered today! Thanks for the inspiration. I might need to think about adding a sitting area to the design. They just looked so peaceful ♥️
I loved this. We put in 16 raised beds last year and loved them so much more than our previous in ground area. We are in the process of adding 7 more!
Please continue to do these types of Inspirational videos, so fun to watch and dream.
I love seeing how others have set up their gardens. So, so inspirational! Wishing I could be out in my garden but it snowed again last night. Sigh! I just got a stackable
Planter unit delivered this week. My project
This weekend is to put that together and start a salad garden I can set it inside for now and later put it outside on my patio.
It's really nice how positive you are about other people's efforts
Aww I love Dawns garden...even down to the color of the wood and the potts. So unique and beautiful.
Totally inspirational video Laura! Just wow...I am so glad that I build my raised beds up to 20" high!
This was so fun to see !! Thank you for sharing this. Currently working on making my dream garden.
