How funny, I literally just found your channel like ten minutes ago, and was hoping you’d have a lid star review! My worldview was forever changed last December when I went into glossier NYC for the first time. I didn’t actually have any knowledge about the products so I basically just blew all my money buying everything, but now back in Aus (like you, I presume!) I don’t know why but I’m not feeling these eyeshadows... maybe it’s the packaging? I also felt like you weren’t as excited about these as you were with other Glossier products... It sounds like you really want to love it because it’s glossier but are not completely sold. Am I wrong?
No not at all Clara, as I said towards the end, I quite like these shades but wasn't sold on the formula. I also try to remain very neutral with product launches even if I love a brand (I bought Solution as soon as it launched but haven't even tried it yet after reading so many poor reviews). I'm a real cream shadow addict though and definitely prefer others that are more dewy, smooth and.. well, creamy. Having said that, all cream shadows crease on me (but I don't really mind) so Lidstar will be helpful for people who are sick of seeing their shadow wear off! x

At first I was a bit critical of this channel. Had a hard time relating without seeing the product in action. But I have to say, I was wrong.... I have been watching these videos back to back. I feel so relaxed and I’ve learned more about the products here than any other channel. Matilda, keep up the good work. It’s an acquired taste for me but I definitely have grown to adore these videos over the last 2 days.

NYX Lid Lingerie Eye Tints are a great dupe for Glossier Lidstar. Sweet Cloud and New Romance are my favorite. They have a doe foot as well, a beautiful shimmery effect and look absolutely stunning for less than half the price.
I usually fear eye makeup, but your take on these and other products make them so much more approachable and great to ease into. Thank you so much for a great video again! I look forward to watching them on Saturdays in the US. :)

Just placed an order of a lidstar duo (w/ your link of course)! When these launched, I wasn't interested in eyeshadows at all (I have super hooded lids so it's hard to make an eyeshadow look even show up on me). But for the holidays I bought my first mini eyeshadow palette at Sephora and I actually don't like it because it's too intense! No matter how light my hand and how feathery my brush I find the shadows I bought go on far too strong for my liking. I'm hoping the Lidstars will give me a subtle look that's just a bit stepped up from bare eyelids. Thanks for your review!

Same here Aarati, love using cream and liquid shadows but this wasn't my favourite formula. Too many other great dewy, glowy, creamy shadows I'm loyal to. Pretty shades though! x

I have these in moon and lily. Lily is my favourite, I love shimmery cool tones on my lid, but the shimmer in moon has a subtle blue shift that I like too. They bunch up in my crease like crazy after about 4-5 hours (by lunch time) and look much less shimmery by then. I have oily and deep set eyes, so this is my usual experience with eye makeup. I don't save any time in the morning using these versus powder shadows .So I guess I'm happy I tried them and will continue to use them regularly, but I won't buy more colours and can see how they might be a let down to some.
Y'all which of these would go best with amber eyes? I feel like there isn't much makeup advice for amber eyed people so I never know what to do! These all look quite nice but for a yellow-amber eye.... what do you think goes best?

This might be my new fav channel, my bank account is crying! For those of you living in the UK, LookFantastic is great for RMS, they are by far the cheapest and always have 20% off code laying around. Dusk and Beam might be my new fav blush 2, beam reminds me of my missha tension blush but more pigmented and you get more product for samilar price. Would you venture into perhaps work fashion ? Brand recommendation ? I Love Reiss and Hobbs and occasional boss orange but thats about it, the choices are so limited.

Maybe one day. I wear a lot of silk Equipment shirts to work with simple pants from Aritzia or Uniqlo, plus Australian brands like Scanlan Theodore, Country Road, Camilla and Marc and Ellery. My work style is very minimal! x

Yeah I think I will give it a miss, but I am really keen to hear about your fave cream shadows! I recently bought my first CT Eyes to Mesmerise in Mona Lisa and it creases, melts and generally doesn't perform as well as I was hoping. Maybe I am not putting it on right? Maybelline Colour Tattoos though- really useful little pots!

Matilda, what do you think about these not for layering? They are actually non-toxic and that is SO exciting for me. Between the Jillian Dempsey, RMS eye polish or these what do you think is the best and most worth it? These have been appealing to me for the price point, since you can buy two colours for the price of one of the others. But in all honesty I've seen so many mixed reviews and am worried these will be a literal glitter bomb - although that is quite editorial. Hope to hear from you, and by the way great job on another absolutely beautiful video 💓 it's a treat to see when you post, I turned the notifications on since UA-cam likes to change their algorithms 🙄
Thank you so much Brooke! I'm going to do videos on my favourite cream and liquid shadows soon... You definitely get a different effect with the Jillian Dempsey Lid Tints and RMS Eye Polishes. Lidstar is said to be glowy but because it dries to be long wearing, I didn't find it glowy, just shimmery (not too glittery luckily). A real cream product like RMS or Jillian Dempsey gives you a proper glossy, glowy look, but it's obviously going to crease a lot more x

Yes definitely planning some suncare content, it's so important! The best face sunscreen I've used is the Mecca Cosmetics To Save Face SPF 50 (unfortunately only available in Australia) but also like the La Roche Posay Anthelios SPF 50 x
I love a cream eye shadow and I'm really tempted by how easy these look since I like to just swipe one color across my lid and go. The time to remove is definitely a concern for me though, my eyes get red so easily with scrubbing. Thank you for the heads up!

Hi Rosanna! I usually stock up on Glossier when I'm in the US but have used ShopMate several times to top up and always had a good experience. It tends to cost at least $35ish, or at most $45 depending on how much you order so you could split the shipping with friends if they're Glossier fans too? x

I love using the Lid Star alone or as a base for some of Colourpop's Super Shock eyeshadows in their Ultra Glitter formula ✨😊💖. My favorite shades are Cub, Lily, and Fawn.
I would really recommend cub, I just got that one as I wanted to test the formula before I went crazy and bought the whole lot. For an every day, go-to-class-then-maybe-to-lunch look, it's perfect and I've warn it nearly every day since I've had it. Not too sure about the others tho, I think my next investment will be a visiart palette, let me know if you've ever tried anything from them? Love the video, as usual 💕

I have been looking for a light wash liquid eyeshadow that is a white silver color and Moon is perfect! It dries down and it didnt crease today on my oily eyelids without primer. Hoping it holds up in hot weather too!

Just placed an order of a lidstar duo (w/ your link of course)! When these launched, I wasn't interested in eyeshadows at all (I have super hooded lids so it's hard to make an eyeshadow look even show up on me). But for the holidays I bought my first mini eyeshadow palette at Sephora and I actually don't like it because it's too intense! No matter how light my hand and how feathery my brush I find the shadows I bought go on far too strong for my liking.
I'm hoping the Lidstars will give me a subtle look that's just a bit stepped up from bare eyelids. Thanks for your review!

Same here Aarati, love using cream and liquid shadows but this wasn't my favourite formula. Too many other great dewy, glowy, creamy shadows I'm loyal to. Pretty shades though! x

I have these in moon and lily. Lily is my favourite, I love shimmery cool tones on my lid, but the shimmer in moon has a subtle blue shift that I like too. They bunch up in my crease like crazy after about 4-5 hours (by lunch time) and look much less shimmery by then. I have oily and deep set eyes, so this is my usual experience with eye makeup. I don't save any time in the morning using these versus powder shadows .So I guess I'm happy I tried them and will continue to use them regularly, but I won't buy more colours and can see how they might be a let down to some.

Y'all which of these would go best with amber eyes? I feel like there isn't much makeup advice for amber eyed people so I never know what to do! These all look quite nice but for a yellow-amber eye.... what do you think goes best?

This might be my new fav channel, my bank account is crying! For those of you living in the UK, LookFantastic is great for RMS, they are by far the cheapest and always have 20% off code laying around. Dusk and Beam might be my new fav blush 2, beam reminds me of my missha tension blush but more pigmented and you get more product for samilar price. Would you venture into perhaps work fashion ? Brand recommendation ? I Love Reiss and Hobbs and occasional boss orange but thats about it, the choices are so limited.

My work style is very minimal! x

Yeah I think I will give it a miss, but I am really keen to hear about your fave cream shadows! I recently bought my first CT Eyes to Mesmerise in Mona Lisa and it creases, melts and generally doesn't perform as well as I was hoping. Maybe I am not putting it on right? Maybelline Colour Tattoos though- really useful little pots!

Matilda, what do you think about these not for layering? They are actually non-toxic and that is SO exciting for me. Between the Jillian Dempsey, RMS eye polish or these what do you think is the best and most worth it? These have been appealing to me for the price point, since you can buy two colours for the price of one of the others. But in all honesty I've seen so many mixed reviews and am worried these will be a literal glitter bomb - although that is quite editorial. Hope to hear from you, and by the way great job on another absolutely beautiful video 💓 it's a treat to see when you post, I turned the notifications on since UA-cam likes to change their algorithms 🙄
Thank you so much Brooke! I'm going to do videos on my favourite cream and liquid shadows soon... You definitely get a different effect with the Jillian Dempsey Lid Tints and RMS Eye Polishes. Lidstar is said to be glowy but because it dries to be long wearing, I didn't find it glowy, just shimmery (not too glittery luckily). A real cream product like RMS or Jillian Dempsey gives you a proper glossy, glowy look, but it's obviously going to crease a lot more x

Yes definitely planning some suncare content, it's so important! The best face sunscreen I've used is the Mecca Cosmetics To Save Face SPF 50 (unfortunately only available in Australia) but also like the La Roche Posay Anthelios SPF 50 x

I love a cream eye shadow and I'm really tempted by how easy these look since I like to just swipe one color across my lid and go. The time to remove is definitely a concern for me though, my eyes get red so easily with scrubbing. Thank you for the heads up!

Hi Rosanna! I usually stock up on Glossier when I'm in the US but have used ShopMate several times to top up and always had a good experience. It tends to cost at least $35ish, or at most $45 depending on how much you order so you could split the shipping with friends if they're Glossier fans too? x
They all look really nice and I would love to try them out but in your opinion which one is the most natural looking? Since I'm still in school I really want a natural eye look

I would really recommend cub, I just got that one as I wanted to test the formula before I went crazy and bought the whole lot. For an every day, go-to-class-then-maybe-to-lunch look, it's perfect and I've warn it nearly every day since I've had it. Not too sure about the others tho, I think my next investment will be a visiart palette, let me know if you've ever tried anything from them? Love the video, as usual 💕

I have been looking for a light wash liquid eyeshadow that is a white silver color and Moon is perfect! It dries down and it didnt crease today on my oily eyelids without primer. Hoping it holds up in hot weather too!
