Great honest video. I also have an Ego collection of lawn tools and have no regrets. I recently purchased a Mikwaulkee mower and it's by far my favorite mower ever used to date. My Ego equipment will always be with me though. Caffeine and Nicotine...🤣 Cool neighbor. 👍🏻
Your neighbor, Tom is awesome.😂 coffee, smokes and lawnmowers. It doesn’t get any better.
Hello From Texas! BTW, Tom looks like a guy that would be fun to have a few beers with.
mine is 4 years old with original batteries. Everything is still running great. Batteries are holding up as well. No noticeable loss in battery capacity or power.
4 years mower, trimmer & blower all going strong. Not a single issue whatsoever. 2 stage snow blower purchased last year is waiting for our 1st snow storm 👏
Have they removed the steel deck option from next years lineup?
Never again. EGO has a battery problem. I bought an EGO lawnmower in 2021. My only concern was how long the battery would last. That turned out to be a valid concern. The original battery stopped working in 6 months. Fortunately, they replaced it under warranty. Unfortunately, 6 months later the replacement stopped working. They told me their replacements aren't covered by warranty so I was SOL. The only option they offered was to purchase a new battery at the retail price. Which was more than I paid for the mower originally. Fool me once...back to a gas mower for me.
Do they still have the dual blade option?
Just bought mine. Small yard, can't wait. Never even considered electric and then I learned about this thing.
caffeine nicotine!
Merry Christmas to you and your family from Jake and i at Eliminator Performance. The EGO mowers and blowers have not cut into our business in Canada but ones that have come in for blade sharpening all seem to need battery replacement in the 5 th year at a cost of $500 Cdn so basically the mower costs $100 per year to maintain eh?
Nothing like a morning coffee and a cigarette 🚬 if you know you know !!!!
72 years old. Caffeine & nicotine. God bless him!!
This is the last video I’ll need to make my decision. On my way over to Home Depot to get one. Have been on the fence for weeks trying to find a discontinued Honda, but keep seeing these reviews all talking highly of the Egos, so since I don’t want another gas driven product stored in my shed, this seems like the best fit. Thanks for the review.
I am looking forward to the gen 2 commercial equipment. From my experience the newer stuff is not as reliable as the older stuff. The new commercial stuff looks promising. I will probably give it a try.
bought mine 5 years ago, still runs great!
It only becomes a problem when you have to replace the batteries. Cost way more then you think. When you buy a new one for 300 bucks you'll think twice about it. You'll never spend that much with a gas machine.
Except you can probably cut the grass for over 10 years with one battery if you do it seasonally like in Minnesota...
But there is a 5 year warranty. Plus with gas mowers you need gas, oil, maintenance. Add all that up over 5-10 years and what do you get?
@@matthoffman6962 3 year on the battery and if you do have a fault, the replacement does not have a warranty..... which have left a lot of people without a battery within that 3 years.
4 years I've had mine, not so much as a hiccup!
I bought one of these 4 years ago and my battery failed in the fourth year. Mower was good, but I'm not paying for a new $100 battery every 3 years! Bought a nice Toro gas mower. I'll wait another 5-10 years until they get it right.
A lot of people on a lot of forums having problems with the batteries dying and taking forever to get a new one. Others having multiple ones died then refused once it hits out of warranty despite having issues the whole time.
Seems like a lot of lucky people on this UA-cam channel having no issues.
I like the neighbor lol
I mulch . So how are these mowers for mulching? I have a Toro super recycler 21inch. It mulches very good. Please advise. Much appreciated
I wanna see how well they will last over time. My Honda push mower is almost 20 years old and runs good as new.
Get the backpack link for the mult tool it will save some weight from your arm. I've got the backpack link.
Thanks for comparing the models - was looking at these exact two at Lowes for a while today. Getting your neighbor's perspective was great! For reference, they were on sale for $50 off the retail price and down to $499 and $599.
How do the Ego's do with tall fescue say 6" in length and cut to about 3" to 4"? Can they handle that?
Not quite 6 years old, and mines dead. Completely. Time for the trash can. Leaf blower died after only minimal use. Was repaired under warranty, but sometimes the power switch still doesn't work. Not impressed.
Did you take it to Ace Hardware for repair?
I just got the one with touch drive I like it just gotta get use to it .
Tom seems old school..which is cool...
There string trimmers are like toys .
SO U DONT HAVE TO USE THE SELF PROPELLED ON THE MOWER???
No you don’t have too
Can you hose them off without issues?
I don’t see why not stay away from the battery and connections
