    This is a Porsche 911 restoration that was abandoned in 1994 after being converted to a race car. My plan is a twin turbo Subaru EZ30 porsche engine swap with 400+ HP to the wheels. Stay tuned.

      Easier than my idea of using an ej20 or ez30 mated to the g86 trans.
      Why did you go with a Link ecu and not Haltech etc? Sponsorship or performance?

    Having a 2004 legacy EZ30D I Can tell you all this engine sounds crazy at high rpm ... With of course headers and custom exhaust. With the oem exhaust you will never hear it.
    About the videos you show, this particular legacy is supercharged and sound crazy. Hope your 911 will sounds like this.

    Coming along quite well with the project 👍! Suggest changing the steel coolant pipes with aluminum, so you don't get electrolysis and bead roll the ends to keep the hoses from blowing off. Use some spring clamps, as they are easier on the hoses too.

    Car is looking great and glad to see work being done on it. If you haven't already considered it, might want to put a bleed port at the pump outlet as it is at, or near, the high point of your cooling system. Also, as you start running the engine, if you see temp issues, it might be that the cooling pump is cavitating. Your pump location has almost zero pressure head for the pump inlet (pumps are usually put at the low point of systems to get a pressure head to make the pump more efficient and reduce chance of cavitation) and you may have to play with the pump speed to slow the pump rotation, if you can, to eliminate cavitation. The only other way to fix a cavitation issue is to move the pump to a lower location. Just something to keep in mind as you go forward.

    • @ronkluwe4875
      @ronkluwe4875 Рік тому

      If the overflow tank is before the pressure cap, it should be OK. If after the pressure cap, I would add the bleed.@@solohour

    On plugging that bottom coolant port, there might be a FREEZE PLUG in that size, which could be tapped in with a little sealant. It might be a bit thin to attempt thread tapping.

    • @Flies2FLL
      @Flies2FLL Рік тому

      @@anmolsaxena_ That is correct. Their variable valve timing system is basically Variocam with a few minor differences. From what I have read, in order to get a variable valve timing system without spending tens of millions of dollars developing their own, they simply farmed out development of the heads to Porsche. The later company actually does quite a bit of engineering for other firms, usually on the down-low.
