@@Luke_Skywalker1836 sorry man i didnt mean to be rude, just this is the polar opposite vibe, and vibe along, everything else is 11/10, the usage of the music, i like rap but it doesnt suit the combine, but it does suit the situation, if it was a track that had a growing fear or hopeless vibe to it, it would work better.
(because i personally feel this is the polar opposite to this video, i made my comment the polar opposite as well, as my previous comment on this video (perfect girl) was that i loved every second of it)
TLDR the video is equally as good as this one, but in my opinion, i feel the newer one is marginally less good due to my opinion that the vibe of the music doesnt suit what the combine are about. this is my opinion and not a fact, so in essence they are equally as good

Agreed, Half life one and two were Gordan trying to clean up the mess he made when he triggered the resonance cascade. They could’ve capitalized on that idea with Adrian trying to continue to serve his nation.

I'd like to see Opposing Force 2 to be about Shephard taking a lead role in the Uprising, leading trooping or organizing defenses and attacks on the Combine.
Where Freeman is the figurehead and rallying point for human moral, a military man like Adrian Shephard, an elite specials forces at that, with training in unorthodox warfare could be critical in the actual effectiveness at fighting back.
Damn bro, this is so good, I hope Valve brings back our beloved Adrian Shepherd, we need Half Life 3!

something about seeing the events of half-life 1 rendered at a slow, more realistic pace makes you appreciate what a fucked up day Gordon really had. He thought the worst thing that was going to happen to him that day was that he was running late

To Gordon, the entire Half Life series has only been a week. He's gotten little to no sleep, probably little water and no food, and he's sustained multiple injuries to his flesh and bones, kept going with morphine stims. Dude's gotta feel like shit in every way possible. Give him dinner and a nap, Valve. Possibly rehab too, he's probably addicted now.

I'm glad that new generations are finding HL2 and realizing how much of a pivotal and important game it is. Ever since I played it, all other games are held to it's standard and judged by comparison. The story telling and world building without having to tell you everything in a prologue is unmatched. Everytime I see one of these edits or similar video it makes me want to play it all over again, again.

During the 7 hour war
For humanity: it was darkness day as the world truely how insufficient and powerless they are in wide known and unknown cosmos.
For the Combine: it was a Tuesday.
The planes and helicopter destroyed and falling down from the sky cities getting destroyed, soldiers positions destroyed in few minutes escaping civilians killed by combine and who survived get killed by xen creatures it must looks very scary dark.

Whats funny is that the combine takeover, LITERALLY ONLY TOOK 7 HOURS. Like, we had such advanced technology (especially in the half life universe, where we had way more advancements) AND WE STILL LOST. Its like we didn’t even put up a fight in that universe.
It took place in the 2000s😐 and half life 2 took place in 2020
Combine was a multi-universal empire with the capabilities of inter-universal travel.. They've conquered whole universes, what makes you think they couldn't take earth on?

It wasnt the combine though. It was the Universal Union. Fun fact, they have used primarily synths for 7 hour war which most likely means they didn't use only gunships or dropship, they used things far more powerful that could defeat the UN within 7 hours, what we see in Half Life 2 or Alyx is the aftermath as we know, but these units that the main characters fight are only peacekeeping forces made to keep the human race enslaved by itself. What UU used during the 7hw must've been truly destructive and powerful, perhaps orbital airstrikes even?

La pregunta es la siguiente : si en half life alyx ( tenemos que liberar a G-man , pero por otro lado el juego parece ser una ilusion o una realidad creada en la mente alyx , todo para probar su potencial de la misma ) podemos inferir que el imperio combine tiene el poder suficiente para retener a gman ( pues de lo anterior, gman asume que los combine lo pueden capturar ) . Entonces , en half life 2 gman nos da todas las posibilidades de eliminar la ciudadela. No solo eso , sino que nos rescata de la explosión, dejando en claro que sus objetivos a lograr con gordon son muy grandes. Después de eso , en el episodio, gman infiere que gordon tiene un vínculo con los vortigaunts. En el episodio 2, ( donde ocurre la supuesta conexión de alyx con gman) gman decide no continuar con gordon freeman , y le pide como último favor escoltar a alyx hasta la base. Entonces se puede deducir que sin la ayuda de gman, gordon pudo luchar contra la última invasión de los
Combine que intentaron destruir la base con el cohete. En resumen : unos de los posibles objetivos de gman seria tomar el control total del planeta tierra , usando a gordon como su arma principal o como el mesías de los humanos y los vortigauns; o simplemente dejarle el puesto de administrador a gordon freeman, puesto a que en hl alyx gman contrata a alyx para seguir con lo que gordon no pudo continuar después de la explosión. A gman no le interesa la resistencia y tampoco los “ humanos combine “, entonces el objetivo de alyx probablemente sea el de ocupar el puesto de administrador de la tierra , bajo la órdenes del nuevo gman( recuerden que eso es lo que siempre quizo alyx , los combine fuera de la tierra ) . Si ya cerraron el portal, y con la fuerza de gman al mando , entonces probablemte no veamos mucho combine en hl 3.
Gordon freeman is truly more of a impressive combatant then doom-slayer seemingly all because Gordon is just a normal guy, a normal dude who just happened to be in the right place, at the right time with a funny orange suit, and became a godsend.

Well I made a OC out of them. Sgt. Johnathan Riley.
I made another named Felicia Yu, A High-level Security Guard for Black Mesa. She alongside Eli Vance and Alyx found Sgt. Riley and with the help of the Corpsman on the radio managed to find a IFAK and save his life.
Due to some side effects of the Cascade they don't age and thanks for that they have been able to cause hell for the Combine by training Rebels and taking key targets.

@kiryeshka3568 the story wasn't too interesting, and there's a lot of boring sequences when you're just wandering around very boring levels. The game is also too easy, you have a lot of weapons but they aren't essential, you only really need to use 1 or 2 guns whereas in doom eternal almost every gun is essential. And there was just nothing memorable about the game for me, the only memorable moment that stood out to me was the ending.
But, it's been awhile since I played the game, maybe I'll give it another chance but I don't expect my opinion to change
