Really great video! If a person who works in a music shop and plays a ton of basses can't tell them apart..... There's a love affair that we have with our instruments and it is constructed from so many strands of real and imagined features. What a time to be a musician with so many great options! Thanks for doing this video guys. loved it. Harder to do but would love to see an amplifier version of this!
Always love these blindfild challenges, always fun and an eye opener! Just a thought, how bout a blindfold 5 strings bass challenge? Can't wait to see how surprised Lee would be :P
Just listen to this video without watching it. At some point I was no longer sure if they talked about basses or something else 🤣Absolutely hillarious 🤣🤣🤣
I have several friends working at Warwick/Framus and you can’t even imagine sometimes what they do with your bass/guitar 3 times the price of that “affordable” :D bass. I make guitars for a living and when I asked my friend working there in the custom shop, how they fill wenge grains on the fingerboard, He just said oh they let the polishing compound stuck in it when it’s polished, I was shocked. Because I carefully fill any gaps and grains with a special woodgrain filler and then resand it and fill it again if it’s necessary and make sure it is absolutely perfect for the tenth of the price of their guitars. Or when they just got back a split neck for fix and they use superglue to fix it, these things are just bad decisions at a company that makes excellent guitars usually.
Holy heck, Lee is a bloody fantastic player. 24:55 -- Lee shouldn't be saying sorry to Warwick; Warwick should be saying sorry to Lee. Loved this episode!
Stating the obvious, the Dingwall is made in China, not Canada (but it's checked in the latter). Fun video, though. Have to admit, I'm always impressed by people who can still play to a high level when they can't see, and Lee and Cici are great presenters.
They did, but the graphic said "Canada", while my Combustion has a "Made in China" sticker on the back of the headstock. My understanding is that they do QC checks and a final set-up in Canada, but all the construction happens in Asia. The "real" made in Canada Dingwalls cost about £5k instead of about £2k.
I think the blindfold challenges are great. You *should* be able to feel a big difference between a high-end vs a budget brand. It proves that we all judge quality by name brand and cost way more than we think we do. I knew the Sire would do well, but I was really surprised that the Music Man did so poorly when it's $2000+ more money.
Maybe I'm biased since I saw all the basses before they started playing, but the Music Man has such a distinct pokey sound to it that I'm quite surprised Lee didn't get at all! But then again he may not have played a lot of StingRays before...
The stingray was tough because it's HH and because everything's dialed in the middle. It sounded like an active jazz bass to me. A different eq and bridge-PU only would've given it away instantly.
Hans Peter is gonna be pissed if he watches this 😂😂😂 I'm shocked Lee dogged the Warwick frets - I've owned 3 German Warwicks and all have had impeccable fretwork
To be fair Warwick need to do rounded fretboard edges, I rounded mines and worked a bit on the fret edges. Also that thumb does not sound that much like a thumb maybe different woods? Idk
This was so much fun to film! 😂
I really enjoy the blindfold challenges, and I also really enjoy Lee and Cici as presenters. Fun video!
Agreed! 👍
Cici just have that fun to hang around vibes
Like she has the vibe that make people just smiles randomly 🤣
Cici and Lee back on together! Awesome!
Well, now you MUST do a role reversal. I want to see how Cici makes out.
Really like you guys together.
Fun video.
Impressive job, Lee! 👍
Super fun video! Love seeing Cici here!
I just love this kind of content! So fun and we get to hear the sounds
Great video! Always a challenge blindfold! Cici and Dave in the background, Lee on bass.... A trio made in heaven!

It's got a....
WAAAAAAARRRRRWICCCKKKKKKYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
feel to it.
More of that. Always entertaining! 😂
I dig these guys. They have a good rapport and it's fun to watch.
These are really enjoyable; more!
great video! Cici great presenter and Lee is always awesome!
Yay, more bass! I love the thumbnail for this video by the way, LOL.
Great video would like to see more of them
Cici is very funny. All the crew thanks all you’re all awesome.
One thing I have liked is to keep the identity of the given bass somewhere on the screen in case you missed the little balloon
Factories scattered across 11 nations in SE Asia alone. A blind fold choice is all about commitment.
This was a blast to watch.
Well there is a point here and that is that as long as they are mass produced it doesn't matter if it's us or Indonesia etc.
Always love these blindfild challenges, always fun and an eye opener! Just a thought, how bout a blindfold 5 strings bass challenge? Can't wait to see how surprised Lee would be :P
Great video, more blindfold challenges please, great fun to watch.
So good!
Lee is not just a flawless bass player but he's a fun guy too🎯
Great vid!
Just listen to this video without watching it. At some point I was no longer sure if they talked about basses or something else 🤣Absolutely hillarious 🤣🤣🤣
He also said the Warwick sounded Warwicky.
Good to see you back
It would be interesting to see Cece do this challenge.😀
Killer playing! 👍
That was so much fun !
I enjoy the videos with Lee and CiCi working together. This was interesting and entertaining!
Man, that Stingray is a thing of beauty.

Loved this episode!
I love these videos! More blindfolds!!!
That was way fun.
This was great, I'd love to see another one of these with Cici been blindfolded and Lee being the one to quiz her
Great video :)
Encore!
Oh yeah!
Stating the obvious, the Dingwall is made in China, not Canada (but it's checked in the latter). Fun video, though. Have to admit, I'm always impressed by people who can still play to a high level when they can't see, and Lee and Cici are great presenters.
Yeah they mention that later on. Canadian "finished". Not sure what that means, setup maybe?

Since it's a bass video, is it appropriate to mention the Primus song with the recurring line of "Everything's made in China"? ;)
Yes, more!
Loads of fun! You need to do bass amps now!
That was a fun video.
great video
the sound of the bass here is great in the other videos it was extremely low, keep the good job
"Can I touch the nut?"
"You can touch the nut but no further than the nut."
*Paddington Hard Stare*
So good! 🍻

First. Love you both!
Great video 🎉
That was fun, Cici should have a go.
Awesome video 😂
Ive never played one, but the tone I liked best was the Sire... had a real warmth to it
Lee did great! 4/6 despite clearly not wanting to upset anyone!!
Maybe I'm biased since I saw all the basses before they started playing, but the Music Man has such a distinct pokey sound to it that I'm quite surprised Lee didn't get at all! But then again he may not have played a lot of StingRays before...
Do this with identical body and pup config basses at different price points. find out which basses actually kick butt in line with the cost!
ruff edges on japan fender ? What's going on ?
6:36 uh oh oh my God oooh :D
The stingray was tough because it's HH and because everything's dialed in the middle. It sounded like an active jazz bass to me. A different eq and bridge-PU only would've given it away instantly.
MORE YOU GUYS FAB VID, CC MEGA AGAIN.
many thanks yaall
Why does it seem like the east coast the cheapest pj bass I have probably ever seen sounds as good if not better then all of them
Make Cici guess the amps brands blindfolded.
Cici rules
What amp setup was used? Didn't catch it in the video
Katana Bass ✌
Hans Peter is gonna be pissed if he watches this 😂😂😂 I'm shocked Lee dogged the Warwick frets - I've owned 3 German Warwicks and all have had impeccable fretwork
Thank you for getting some microphone action going on behind the camera.
There will be some P45s or the equivalent being handed out at Warwick this week I suspect.
More Cici! More Bass!
how do i win the pedal?
Subscribe to the channel and then you're in win a change of winning it.
how not to talking about that fan fret Dingwall bass ? is just feels like normal bass ?
more bass based entertainment ones!!!
Nut width should be a decent clue and weirdly (as a finger style player) the slap tone would help a lot ... but I think he did ok considering
To be fair Warwick need to do rounded fretboard edges, I rounded mines and worked a bit on the fret edges.
Also that thumb does not sound that much like a thumb maybe different woods? Idk
Also, initially he thought the East Coast was a more expensive one
I'd probably bomb on everything, and I've been playing bass for almost 40 years.
TIL Indonesia's flag looks like Poland's flag.
China.... china... china..... what the?? Lol.. Great job guys!!
Why do all the riffs sound like ozzys no more tears
Next time throw in a Paoletti from Italy
So many innuendos in the first few minutes I don't know where to start.
Please change roles and do it again. Maybe from cheap to expensive?
I guess there must be a lot of good basses coming out of China these days!
Funny
It's kinda dumb not being able to feel the pots and stuff, because that would tell a lot about the price range and quality.
it would be kinda dumb letting em feel the pots imo, he could have probably identified half of them that way
it has a compressed sound , Yeah. , maybe cause the Compressor is on . hahaha funny Guy , Not
They all sound the same to me
In which every bass is made to sound the same no matter the cost, which is totally inaccurate of course.
Disorientated? Is that a word in England?
Hard work, cause all basses sound the same.
I think they can see through the blindfold.
I didnt know people still cared about the bass
I wouldn’t mind putting her in a blindfold, she’s cute af
Pronouncing China with "that" accent and laughing was very bad and unprofessional
Ditch Cici jesus christ already.
