The final verse of this song got verse of the decade for the 2010's for a reason.
That verse might be his best ever. So much self reflection, explanation of who he is outside of his art, it really just beautifully displays Em and the metaphors of what Stan/Matthew actually mean.
The emotion he packed in that verse is something you can't fake. He was brutally open about how he knows the double standards he has, things he says that he doesn't believe in or regrets, how he knows his career could end at any time because he can't live up to his past self's expectations.
Thankfully we're now in the 3rd arc of his career: Old, but motivated to keep proving he can rap rap with the best of them.

It is a great verse, but in my opinion I think his verse off of Yelawolf's best friend is his greatest of all time. But he has somany great verses and so much content.
Bad Guy & Bestfriend are both in that 10/10 category,
but for Bad Guy to equal, nay surpass Stan in storytelling without the catchy music video of Stan is like the second-half of a movie coming to a climax with ONLY the Audio playing, and you have to just picture the final verses in your mind as things come together all at once! 😮
Last verse of Bad Guy edges out Bestfriend best verse for me based on that, with a 10.1 vs 10.
The last verse is an absolute masterpiece. No matter how many times I listen to it, I always get goosebumps during the verse. Absolutely insane.

I Feel bad for everybody who is hearing this 4th verse...this masterpiece...and listens it on a raction channel and pauses it the whole time. Heard this verse 1000 times and still getting goosebumps. There are many great em verses out there...medicine man, chloroseptic rmx, best friend and so on...but overall...the beat, the sound of it, cadence, content...in my oppinion the best verse ever and its a shame how unknown and underrated this song is.

Bro, i tell you when i first heard this song, it was playing in the background while i was doing some intense work, when it got to the ending part, i stopped working and turned up the volume and froze in time......heart was racing...................few artists evoke such emotions in me bro.
STAN is a classic, no dispute..............but I prefer the feelings i get from STAN 2.0, it is a masterpiece!!! i have actually heard people say it is his best work,.............. i dont know, there are sooo many extraordinary Em verses. No Love, You gon Learn, etc i cant choose man!

The last verse for me represents what is going through Em’s mind in the last seconds of his life, being trapped in the trunk, when you hear the car hits the water, his life is flashing before his eyes in the last seconds he’s alive…
And that very last part gets to me every time, “an artist trapped in his own drawings,” his own darkness of his childhood, Em used to draw a lot in his childhood, that was his place and state of mind of escaping from all the bad things and all the s**t that happened to him in his childhood, drawing was his escape before he got into rapping, that was his sacred place where nothing and no one and no bad thing could touch him or harm him…

I agree with you about this being better than Stan, and I love that one for being the 1st of its kind. Stan catered more to the general population; while Bad Guy was tailored more for Em's Hardcore fans. Unfortunately, pop culture isn't ready for heavy bars. They prefer lighter dumbbells LOL

Man I can't even start on this comment, this song is my favorite Em song and that is something because Eminem is my favorite rapper ever (no disrespect to the legends) and the man has a catalog that you wouldn't even know where to begin; but the raw emotion you can feel in that last verse is out of this world, there is no way I listen to this without getting chills all over my body, EVERY SINGLE TIME. This is better than Stan for sure. The only reason it isn't recognised is because of the time that it came out, lack of video and fact that you need to be engaged/listening to understand what is happening in Bad Guy, whereas you don't in Stan (aka casual appeal).

A few months ago, I watched some youtube-channel and they were comparing songs with the same name. So there was Bad Guy by Billie Eilish, of course, and then Bad Guy by Eminem.
The guy was not impressed with Em's song, but he didn't listen the whole song through (and has no clue about rap in the first place) so he gave Billie the point.
In the comments, I argued that with absolutely no disrespect to Billie, Eminem's "Bad Guy" is just leagues better and one can't judge the song by the squeaky beat. Someone told me that music is always subjective and we can't fairly say that his is better.
I agreed about music being subjective but quoted the last verse and said basically that if you only look at that, there's just absolutely NO COMPETITION. Again, no disrespect to Billie Eilish, but come on. Nobody with the ability to read and understand English could look at her song and his and say "Yeah, Eilish's song is better". Just... *shakes head* No competition.
BTW, this is the first song on the MMLP 2. Imagine buying the CD and hearing THIS for the first time at the time it came out. I swear, if I had been a fan back then, I'd probably cry because I would have thought this was his last album ever and he was saying goodbye.
