- Nissan has set the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the fastest drift using the specially tuned MY16 Nissan GT-R by entering a drift at a speed of 304.96 km/hr. Masato Kawabata, the Japanese drift champion series, set the new world record to clinch the top spot from former record holder Jakub Przygoński of Poland. The drift attempt was held during a special event that took place at Fujairah International Airport, UAE.

I live in Fujairah and I saw it better with my own eyes. The objective was to drift at 200 kmph but that dude took it to the next level by doing a powerslide at 304 kmph. Man that drift though I actually thought that GTR was gonna flip the fuck out but it actually turned out to be a milestone in history of drifting :)
It's the geometry of the car first of all, the weight center is low enough and the degrees weren't enough to make the car flip. If he did the mistake to increase the degrees on that drift or just let the steering wheel to go neutral, oh I believe we would still collecting pieces of that car from all over the place. Japanese people are specialized in Drift and the car designed in such a way you can do drift, drag race, just drive it daily, it's a chameleon car, it will do whatever you want it to do. Very reliable car but to be honest it's not the best model. The best was made around 1999 and it was the GT-R 34 V spec. It's the only car dare to accelerate next to a Superbike and actually win the race. How I comprehend that !? Something went terribly wrong technically inside that engine block while it was made, but it was terribly right in all other aspects. It's engine cannot undergo Dyno correctly. You can put to it as big turbos you want, you can reach up to 3.500 HP and that beast will take it without complains. It's an insane masterpiece of art in movement.

Just look at how many race wins the Skyline GT-R and the newer GT-R have. It was so good, it was banned from the Australian touring car championships because it couldn't be beaten by anything but another GT-R
