    I like how nothing is too fancy here, just a man and his angle grinder fashioning a chair.

    That was a beautiful build. Well done, a relaxing video to watch. I like the way you made the legs and spindles and carved the seat.
    I will say however,, i feel the back legs should angle back more to provide stability for the sitter.

    We received this in the mail today! The packaging was fine, no damage during shipping thank goodness! The construction was very simple ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxXH3jIpsn6vpr3D26KWAriUejh7CSxVp7 , the bottom rocking part and the ottoman were already put together for us which is nice!As for the actual quality, the wood seems fine.. Not too cheap but maybe not the quality you would find in a store for 400$. However, it is still sturdy and feels secure. I've only had it for one night, so of course no squeaking yet.. But if it does squeak it could be easily oiled. The cushions are comfy, and made of a suede like material. Obviously with time these cushions will probably wear and tear.. But for the price of the chair it is still worth it just to go out and buy new cushions that fit in the future.Overall I am very satisfied, I was a little worried after reading some reviews and looking through the photos, but I'm happy I bought it! Obviously it's not a heavy-duty chair, but with care I'm hoping it will last a while.

    A really great video. May I suggest you partially finish around the joints before gluing. That way squeeze out problems are minimised.
    That chair just got slowly more beautiful. Bow back Windsors are very comfortable.
    Traditionally Windsor chair legs are inserted nearer the periphery and the various angles all have names like “slouch” and “splay” which all add up to a safe, strong and comfortable chair. There are a few terms that are derived from Windsor chair making. My favourites include slouch and bodge. The woodland around High Wycombe was the area for bodging and there is a Windsor chair museum worth a visit in the town.

    • @deliaguzman1138
      @deliaguzman1138 2 роки тому

      They’re great, but they get heavy fast when clamping something requiring a few. Still-I love mine. I’ve also used this first clamping jig with great success: ua-cam.com/video/31nrAycKCGY/v-deo.html it’s like having the expensive carcass clamps without the expense!

    • @infeelfurniture
      @infeelfurniture  2 роки тому +3

      that's right, 4 mm, ash is quite plastic wood, so it does not need to be steamed (with such a thickness of the lamels)
