This was my first Green Day song, it played on the radio CONSTANTLY when it came out, haha. All kinds of stations, too. I remember being in 4th grade at the time, and one kid came in with the CD... everyone in class was like "Wow, this kid is cool as hell, he's got Dookie!", hahaha
That pretty much sums up my 4th grade year too! Haha. These guys were pretty damn huge. Definitely a household name all of the sudden when Dookie blew up.
Damn man, like 6 months before this album came out, Green Day played my friends 17th birthday party! I was unlucky enough to have pissed my mom off the day before so I was grounded! Years later I was visiting a friend at her coop and waiting for her to get ready. I was playing Sega when Green Day walks in. They were waiting for their friends to hang out! I played sega with them a total of about 10 times over the next few months! They are great but I have never seen them live!
Yes baby.... we were blasting it! I got called weird/strange and a wannabe. But I just liked what I liked. Btw. Green day NEVER made ME feel like robbing a bank. I did however feel understood and not alone.
my boyssss :') man 15 years, 4 concerts and 3 GD inspired tattoos later and they're still my favourite band 💕 if you wanna get HYPE listen to St. Jimmy! Especially the love version from Bullet in a Bible, just makes u wanna jump around
I grew up with these music videos just popping up on MTV. 90's was really an insane time for music. Felt like everyday something new was popping off. As a fan of Green Day and a lot of different types of music...we just don't get this today. Shit was lit. You should peep queens of the stone age "no one knows", anything foo fighters, and Nirvana. Just started listening to them again and I'm like "wow...this was actually incredible music."
One artist I love who never gets recognition is Fefe Dobson. I'd love to see a reaction to her songs. "Take Me Away" was her breakthrough, "Everything" may be the one song she's most known for... "Get U Off" should have been a single because it's f'n AMAZING, but her story with the record companies (and us) is totally f'd up so I won't go into all that. *Her NEWEST one is "White Line Runaways"* and it's a pretty nice n' mellow track.
I really feel like you’ll love Blink 182! In my opinion, they’re the greatest punk rock band after Green Day. If you wanna check em out here’s some tracks: - Anthem Part Two - First Date - Adam’s Song (emotional) - Bored to Death - I Miss You - Down - What’s My Age Again?
Heck Yeah my Brother Yes Green Day is The Bomb my friend " when you said that peeps had to be Blasting this when it first came out " Yes Indeed my friend lots of good fun rocking Youthful Memories for me I'm now 41 I was like 12 or 13 when they came out of when I remember MTV back in the day & my cousin was always to first then to buy the latest music out there first then he would make me a copy at the Time we were mainly playing old school Cassettes & I'm sure I still have the cassette bro I own not only cassettes bc I also have old school albums to & cd's of course DVD's I also have a couple of brand new cassettes I ordered off line on Amazon which is Def Leppard Greatest hits Vault & btw Yes indeed I play guitar ans I did a couple covers of this song on my UA-cam channel I will share with I real quick " Keep Rocking my friend God bless
As old as I am, when I first heard Green Day, I thought they were inspired by their parent’s Clash records. GTime of your life played at mt son’ funeral. Check it out. Own all their music.
a lot of us old school punks were thrilled to finally hear an actual punk beat on the radio with Green Day, it had been a really long time and they were the only ones. check out the Clash! you will dig it! ua-cam.com/video/_3MebFwdpoU/v-deo.html
Here's what I get from the video - Everyone is looking into other ppl's lives. Sometimes it's with sadness at what they have lost, like the elderly wheelchair bound man. He looks at the young girls with their whole lives ahead of them. They're able to move freely. The little girl with the fancy dress is looking down at the ppl below. She seems aristocratic, so maybe a commentary on upper and lower classes? I'm not so sure about that one.
Green Day/Dookie is one of those albums where every song rocks. I'm 54 and they are one of my favorite bands, the louder the better
nond more than all by myself
"You wanna go rob a bank, go listen to some Green Day"
Now if that ain't a glowing endorsement, I don't know what is.

Basket Case by Green Day and Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana were THE songs of my youth. Remain two of my absolute favorites to this day.

Check out “Brain Stew” - one of their more underrated tracks
@YWNCCTHIF brain stew was the biggest hit from insomniac along side with geek stink breath
Great song, but it was a huge hit.
You need to listen to Green Day's song "Warning!" 💚
Def not overrated if its still played on the radio.
My uncle took me to their concert when I was 10 dressed me up in 90s punk attire and it was one of the greatest nights of my life! 😎🤘🏻

Same! 7th grade for me.
10th grade for me. Lol.

My favorite song of the 90s. My dad was obsessed with this album when I was little. I remember him singing this song all the time.
Yes baby.... we were blasting it! I got called weird/strange and a wannabe. But I just liked what I liked. Btw. Green day NEVER made ME feel like robbing a bank. I did however feel understood and not alone.
