After a few trial games I feel 3000 pts is a big game. 2000 pts feels better for an average game. For 3000 pts I also recommend making the table at least 4x6
After having just done a 600 learning game, I cant imagine wanting to do 3k unless I have some titans or decent airforce. Both eat up some points. We plan to record at 1k and 1.5k next week to see the progression.
Tracking the formations break points is a nightmare for identical units, we just combine the formations break points into a single number of dead units, make tracking it much easier, only one dead pile and don't need some insane system of numbers to objectively prove what formation each detachment belongs to.
Agreed. I am still contemplating a by the rules was to handle it. Might do some base markings to also tell detachments apart that could help. In small points its easy but at 3k I dont see caring to do it the way they do unless I find a good trick.
@@terrainkickerspodcast My problem is the game doesn't give a clear solution, like its not like they packaged numbered flags or something, and in terms of an event, its tough to have one standard if everyone has to come up with their own. The formations don't limit very much either, which for me is all the better reason to just combine the break points into one number.
I understand why they did it, especially as a call back to older editions. My reasonable assumption is they assume maxing formations and not running duplicates. Or they assume mixed forces where your Solar are one formation, marines are another. We are going to test the rules base for now and see what we decide later. It will be a T.O. question for sure. Hopfully by the time decent size forces are ready to roll enmass, a good solution will present itself. Well least in our local area if something is run I will run it so guess I have to make some decisions lol.
@@terrainkickerspodcast formations really don't limit much, example, you can break 3000 points with a single armoured formation, i managed to get 3015pts and a bout 42 tanks. A formation could also be as small as a few hundred points.
Sorry, watching this over the day. You can't actually end your move on top of an objective marker. So no parking Titans on it :) Warp missiles were already FAQ'd
Yes warp missiles changed day of recording, which we knew about but not sure we made that clear. Not stopping on objectives I missed but glad you cant try to box people out from them.
Overwatch can be super clunky with this stop move business, example, overwatching a unit doing a parabolic move like jump infantry, it's incredibly clunky at times
So what we do for infinity often is by intention. Your moving a unit I want to overwatch. We discuss the path your moving and I just shoot after your done saying where it was I was shooting you. Pull the destroyed appropriately. It does require cooperation to not be super clunky and could be cleaner for sure.
17:02 the on topic discussion starts
Thanks, if you already know Epic history then skip to 23:02
Thanks. Didnt to time stamps on this one but should have. I will mark them in the notes now.
Love it
Good listen, cheers lads.
Thanks. More coming soon.

Gloss spray first, then do decals, then do matte spray on all
I hope/assume Dan knows that. I feel now I should not make that assumption lol.

@@terrainkickerspodcast Interrupt mechanics in an already alternating activations, especially this clunky, I think need a bit a cleaning up.
Since Steve still doesn’t have a camera, you should have just pretended to talk to him throughout the episode…
Its so dastardly I love it
