It’s December 12, 2023 and I still watch your dad’s videos to this day. Loved that man. He still brings joy to all of us who loved watching that man cook and tell stories. God Bless the both of you girls 🙏🏻
I just watched a video of him making soup and checked out the chanel and saw a one year old video saying "Thank You" and thought....he's died hasn't he..... :(
Just finding out that Daddy Jack has passed. I feel like I've lost a family member. Such a wonderful man! My condolences to you girls. He brought hours of pleasure to me with his videos. I miss him already.
I added extra time to my drive from NYC to Providence, RI in late 2018 so that I can meet Jack and have dinner at his place. He greeted me like we were old friends and he brought me to the kitchen to see where all the magic happens. After dinner, he sat with me and we recapped our life experiences in a 45 minute conversation. It didn't take long for me to realize that he was precisely what I expected; a geniuely kind man with a heart of gold. I knew him through UA-cam but I was a complete stranger to him yet we'd made a connection that I will never forget. I'm very saddened by this news. Rest in Peace, Jack.
Still miss Daddy Jack to this day. One of the most authentic personalities I've seen on UA-cam, he's really missed dearly. Thank you for all the memories Jack ❤
Has it really been 3 years....Man this breaks my heart. I still watch his videos to this day. He was such a wholesome dude that just wanted to teach people how to cook some delicious A$$ food. Rip Daddy Jack
I’ll bet he was an incredible person. But he took classic French and Italian cuisine and dragged it through the mud For the almighty dollar. A shame really.
@@davidmarrazzo774 I never prepared a meal of his I didn't enjoy Dave? I'm not a connoisseur and mean no disrespect but all dishes get Americanized. Like the Mexican cuisine here is basically "TexMex" it's not an insult as much is it's just our take or interpretation. It's really not a bad thing and never intended to insult anyone.
@@brianwells4507 I have zero issue with anything you’ve said. Daddy jacks food I’m sure is very tasty. Why would you call it something it isn’t though. Just call it daddy jacks version of whatever he’s making? How we use our words matter. Marketing is one thing but there is a line that shouldn’t be crossed. Every dish from the southern USA that daddy Jack has made I take as an absolute reference point for those particular dishes he’s excellent. It’s when he starts saying “classical “ for French,Italian and Spanish dishes then proceeds to completely change the dish to his preference that I find absolutely ridiculous. Especially because he is absolutely ruining those particular dishes
In Russian there is a saying - person is alive while he is still remembered by someone. Your dad will be remembered forever through his amazing cooking videos on UA-cam. I love watching them. It is sad there won't be new ones coming in, but I hope he's in a better place and watches you two from above being very proud!
Word, Bro. Daddy Jack was genuine and I will always return to his old videos even after many years from now and despite all them other cooking channels. My favourite ones are when he in his restaurant kitchen with this gas stove and all these old pans and utensils. It has such a unique atmosphere and it's like different interesting world to me. RIP.
please do no take down his YT channel his recipes are amazing. i always imagined him on hells kitchen or iron chef ,he would have kicked ass. he was a wealth of knowledge.
Jack Chaplin taught the rest of the world how professional level cooking was actually done. The seemingly endless list of shows featuring cooking contests, fru-fru platters, artsy-fartsy presentations, and the cooking credentials-in-your face divas; teach virtually nothing. No other cooking show came close to COOKING WITH THE BLUES. Thank you so much chef Jack Chaplin. david
June 2024, and I only just came across this. I am so very sorry to hear of Jack's passing, and offer my condolences to the family. Greetings from Canada. I was only thinking a few weeks ago, I hadn't seen any videos for a while and a UA-cam Short has has just been offered to me today. I am a trade chef, catering college educated in England and loved Jack's style of cooking, simply explained and showing the trade way for doing things. Loved seeing back of house, the line, the Mise en Place, the cooking flats and pans. Jack made it look all so simple. Like others, I had hoped to swing by the restaurant at some time, but unfortunately Legends don't live forever. Sorry to see the merchandise shop is gone. Best wishes to you both and I hope you get much comfort from the love of others and those that loved Jack. ❤🩹
Oh my. This is the 1st I've heard of his passing. I'm truly sorry for your loss. He was my favorite cooking channel celeb. I have enjoyed his channel immensely. I even ordered sausages from Corsinis? I forgot the name. The hot ssusage. It was great. I no longer eat meat but still love watching him cook. I will greatly miss him. I'm sure he will be greatly missed by everyone he touched. May his memory 🙏 live forever. Once again I am sorry for your loss.

Now that I’m retired I still make his recipes for my family at home. He will always be my favorite UA-cam chef. I miss him every time I log onto UA-cam
I was a Valet at Chaplin's and Daddy Jack's in Dallas in the 90s. I think you young ladies were maybe around 3 years old at the time. He would roll up in his giant Cadillac and you two would be bouncing all over the back seat while he ran inside for a minute. You mentioned that Jack always fed the homeless and you are right. He would make them wait at the back door for some sourdough bread and clam chowder or lobster bisque. It's still the best lobster bisque I've ever had! Many times people would stop and ask me whether your dad was cooking or not because they didn't want to eat there unless Jack was cooking because he was the best cook! So many memories standing in front of Daddy Jack's when I was in my twenties. Going to your restaurant was on my bucket list. So sad to hear of his passing. Good luck to you young ladies! You really should post some of his archive footage and candids.
