Wow! I knew Mack trucks were powerful, but I had know idea just how powerful. I drive a Kenworth T680, and it runs great, but I sometimes wish for that T800 horsepower with over 600. So, to know Mack is pushing well above that has me in awe. 😮
I think it is more or less the same engine, if so they are de-rating it for some reason, Volvo trucks are really not that common in Australia and are irrelevent in heavy haulage and the real big trucks. Maybe Volvo Europe tune it up to run with all the back pressure that all the ridiculous Euro 6 laws require them to create. AU laws don't require them.
When Mack means the most powerful engine in a conventional truck they mean where the engine is in front. The trucks you mentioned are cab overs which are not conventional trucks so mack is right with their claim
@@kadeflinchbaugh8917 yes exactly ! and above all The Mack V8 and Scania V8 engines are almost the same (manufactured in cooperation by the 2 brands), only a few specifications are specific to each of the brands (cylinder head, mapping, injection pressure, etc.)
@@kadeflinchbaugh8917 no my friend, scania T 730 (year 2011) mack lies with its marketing, the engine is volvo and they are not the most powerful with the engine in front.
Mack and Scania work together to create the most powerful v8 diesel engine, and each of this two companies use the same engine base but with some small differences specific to each brand (for example the cylinder heads…) Excuse my broken english, i'm french 🙂
