Why engine then water on?? I thought you turn water on get air out then idle engine up?? Reverse idle down throttle all the way then water off am I missing something?
We have an indoor clean out just above concrete floor. When they start jetting the pipe at our house is there going to be a ton of sludge and water backing up into the basement once they start jetting if the clog doesn’t move quickly? The clog is about 65’ from the clean out.
@@ChadAmI80 long story, so they did end up jetting, (they didn’t bring a shop vac) so I ended up using my little 2-3 gallon vac. We just happened to have a large trash can that I would empty out every thirty seconds, we filled up the trash can with sludge, he got the jetter hose stuck. He came back a few days later with a large vacuum truck so they could jet longer without it backing up, still didn’t help. They charged 650.00 for the jetting 400.00 for the vacuum truck and just said we will get the hose out when we come back to do the plumbing. I hired a different company and they ended up breaking the jet hose it’s been a nightmare.

Ask your neighbours/family if it is a fair rate. Do you have a tradesman review site you could access to see what other people think of their pricing? Remember the plumbers have their overheads to consider when pricing the job. That said, it will still probably be cheaper than digging it all up and replacing the pipes.
I paid $500 6 years ago. I tried my speedrooter, they tried their I guess spartan, they brought in a tow behind jetter. Yeah…..it’s worth every dime if it works. But that sag in that pipe on this video, ain’t never gonna get right. That’s gonna have to be fixed.
So regarding the broken pipes how is that not an issue that was quite a bit and had to have come from somewhere and recently or long after pipes installed.
Have you ever had to pull roots back to the opening you entered the jet tool ??? How often does that happen Sir ?? The hydro-jet is the best for cleaning cast iron pipes Sir ??? Nicely done video for sure Mr. Green's.
I apologize, but not much information was given. Important, yet very easy to pass along to the viewer is : what kind of jetter ? psi ? gpm ? what kind of nozzle ? thank you.
If I had to make an educated guess I would say the Jetter unit is most likely a tow behind that hose is 3/8 diameter with a warthog Jetter nozzle those units can operate anywhere from 3000 to 4500 psi at anywhere from 7 1/2 to 10 gallons a minute. When utilizing large nozzles like that it's all about water volume over water pressure. There are different size hoses and nozzles and configurations for specific jobs.
There is a bladder Insert that is impacted with resin epoxy stuff and forced through. It does reduce Internal diameter of pipe but pipe is usable after. Saw many cities using it on tv and some on UA-cam
I did that job some days for Toronto water We didn't want to go inside because if the jet or snake got caught the city would be in a very expensive position to have to dig it out

@@everyhandletaken I hear you for sure... PVC Pipe is expensive especially these days... Everyone is trying to save money for the essentials... If they weren't able to afford the replacement then I'd definitely pour a ton of salt around the pipe to at least kill the roots
Every district has their price to clean a pipe. Pipes comes in many sizes plus if a line is broke from tree roots the pipe would be full of mud, sand, rock, and broken pieces of pipe.
Cost me 100 bucks off Amazon, and 120 bucks at home depot. I had the setup for 2 hrs and ran out of pipes to clean at my house. Rocks, roots, asshole daughter's tampons, and a matchbox car. And did my neighbor's just for fun. 1600 psi pump from home depot, cheap electric works just fine and safe to use in your basement.
If the roots are minimal, root killer might help. But it takes days to work. Running water will wash it away. If it does work you will need to use it every few months.
You’re being scammed High pressure hose will clear the roots, and if there is a problem with the pipe, it can be re-lined, which requires no digging I had it done at my house, and the work was finished in 6 hours
In this situation hydro jetting is a waste of time and money, you can clearly see that the pipe has severely shifted and will soon collapse. I’m not sure if you only had a root intrusion or similar issues like this video here. Hydro Jetting is meant to remove and flush out any build up or debris. Here, there using a unique jetting head that attaches to the end of the hose, it rotates at a very high velocity due to the pressure from the water and cuts roots. This will only buy you time, but it will not fix anything. Not a smart idea given they have a camera that showed them the shifted sewer line…this is no belly, this is a section of pipe that has shifted and needs to be repaired! Also, as far as going trench-less, like a liner would be a terrible mistake 🤦♂️ please beware of these so called plumbers, the real and only solution is to repair or replace it 🙏
I Ran a hydro Jet for years. They have different nozzles for roots and plugged lines. I designed a nozzle that will not hang up on a misaligned pipe, or broken pipe or a root filled pipe. For rust build up they have a nozzle that will clear the pipe of all hard rust build up.
Did a very nice job cleaning the line. Lot of companies just run the jetter once then call it good. Very nice work.
That was pretty good camerawork all things considered. Well done sir, and thanks for posting it. 🏆

Great flicking video!!! I'm a tech with Mr. ROOTER, and this video is spot on. Very talented, skilled tech to get this work and video!!! Good Job!!!
This is the kind of work that makes modern civilization possible.
Definitely a good video to show customers what they’re getting when we jet 🌊 💯

I have a tub backing up into my rental property now. Exploring this option. It is an older home though, the pipes are cast
Can the hydro jet be used on pvc piping...or just metal?

Are you using hot water or just regular temperature pressure?
Do you apply copper sulfate in the pipes to kill roots so they don't come back?
Use Riddex (copper sulfate) to kill the roots. Flush down the toilet at night and let it sit to do its work.
i do.
It's like an enema for the sewer line.
Do you use hot water when you do this?
there is a company here in utah that wants to charge me $250 for the camera inspection and $400 for the jetting, is this a fair rate?

For roots don’t think so, they use 3,000 psi at 9 gpm for the jetters with root cutting ability

Only if pvc is cracked from severe bowing effect, usually if large boulder landscape rocks or heavy machinery driven over it
