3" branch drain connection backup caused by worn cast iron comby. This comby has worn out in effect turning it into a tee that is allowing the effluent and solids to bounce off the side wall of the pipe and backflow before draining down stream slowly.

Can the hydro jet be used on pvc piping...or just metal?
Do you use hot water when you do this?
Why engine then water on?? I thought you turn water on get air out then idle engine up?? Reverse idle down throttle all the way then water off am I missing something?
Great video thank you
bad pipe design. Why let root come in !!
You will have to repair the pipe if not you going to have the same problem over and over
Did a very nice job cleaning the line. Lot of companies just run the jetter once then call it good. Very nice work.

An additional safety inspection item, specific to electric water heaters, is a disconnecting means if the service panel is not within sight, to guard against electric shock hazards caused by someone else turning the power back on while servicing or maintenance is performed. This is typically accomplished by a two pole fused or non fused disconnect switch rated at 240 volts, 30 amps minimum, or a two pole toggle switch rated 30 amps. Sometimes, usually in older homes built before 1990, a three wire dryer or range cord, or a short length of 10/2 romex with a NEMA 10-30, 10-50 or 6-30 plug was used and plugged into a receptacle outlet to serve as the disconnecting means. I'm not aware of any water heater manufacturers or the NEC ever allowing a cord and plug connection for a storage type water heater, although I've seen it a handful of times enough to believe some local inspectors allow it (or used to)
Would 2400 psi be enough for this?
For roots don’t think so, they use 3,000 psi at 9 gpm for the jetters with root cutting ability
I felt like I was drowning the whole time. I kept gulping for air. So realistic!
It's like an enema for the sewer line.
Hi i am digital marketing expert.
Its not easy and better if u guys use a machine with blades ?!! Like a gorlitz machine,?!or better spot repair!!
I have a tub backing up into my rental property now. Exploring this option. It is an older home though, the pipes are cast
We have an indoor clean out just above concrete floor. When they start jetting the pipe at our house is there going to be a ton of sludge and water backing up into the basement once they start jetting if the clog doesn’t move quickly? The clog is about 65’ from the clean out.
What ended up happening?
@@ChadAmI80 long story, so they did end up jetting, (they didn’t bring a shop vac) so I ended up using my little 2-3 gallon vac. We just happened to have a large trash can that I would empty out every thirty seconds, we filled up the trash can with sludge, he got the jetter hose stuck. He came back a few days later with a large vacuum truck so they could jet longer without it backing up, still didn’t help. They charged 650.00 for the jetting 400.00 for the vacuum truck and just said we will get the hose out when we come back to do the plumbing. I hired a different company and they ended up breaking the jet hose it’s been a nightmare.
Sounds like you hired the Guy's Called "Can't get Right" and then the next time Maybe make sure that they have a Good Camera Setup and the guy that I like watching is the Penetrator Blocked Drains and he is out of Australia and he is good with the Drain's that he cleans...
Bonjour, Il y a beaucoup trop de raccords qui, laissent passer les racines. Une seule section enlèverait le problème...
Great job putting all those problems on the city... Seeing what was in there you should've replaced all that pipe 🤦🤷
1. You mean the pieces of detached & broken up root? Really? 2. They aren’t going to replace anything, unless someone gives them the ok to do so 3. No point replacing the pipe, unless the underlying issue of tree roots is resolved
@@everyhandletaken 1. YES, all those root balls going in the main will clog it. You must be new to plumbing and sewers... Or you just don't care and bandaid problems 2. That's obviously what it needed with that many tree roots growing in the pipe! 3. Refer to #2.
@@-CHaPPy- no, what I’m saying is, yes that is what is needed without any dispute of the matter, but customer decides whether to proceed.
@@everyhandletaken I hear you for sure... PVC Pipe is expensive especially these days... Everyone is trying to save money for the essentials... If they weren't able to afford the replacement then I'd definitely pour a ton of salt around the pipe to at least kill the roots
@@-CHaPPy- I agree.. if it isn’t going to be replaced, all that can be done is to try & minimise the problem with some maintenance
Are you using hot water or just regular temperature pressure?
How many PSI water pressure macchine your using ?
This is the kind of work that makes modern civilization possible.
Definitely a good video to show customers what they’re getting when we jet 🌊 💯
Good job sewer 💩
there is a company here in utah that wants to charge me $250 for the camera inspection and $400 for the jetting, is this a fair rate?
Ask your neighbours/family if it is a fair rate. Do you have a tradesman review site you could access to see what other people think of their pricing? Remember the plumbers have their overheads to consider when pricing the job. That said, it will still probably be cheaper than digging it all up and replacing the pipes.
Yo t cobro 150
I paid $500 6 years ago. I tried my speedrooter, they tried their I guess spartan, they brought in a tow behind jetter. Yeah…..it’s worth every dime if it works. But that sag in that pipe on this video, ain’t never gonna get right. That’s gonna have to be fixed.
250 for camera I believe standard charge and 400 for labor I believe is good,300-400
Love the camera👍🏽
I’ve got one of these they work great on soft poop stoppages
Those broken pipes should be epoxy lined. - ua-cam.com/video/XGAJSKHqOKs/v-deo.html
Do you apply copper sulfate in the pipes to kill roots so they don't come back?
Use Riddex (copper sulfate) to kill the roots. Flush down the toilet at night and let it sit to do its work.
i do.
Wow -- so nice to actually see this. (Need to get it done). Can roots go through PVC pipe?
Only if pvc is cracked from severe bowing effect, usually if large boulder landscape rocks or heavy machinery driven over it
Have you ever had to pull roots back to the opening you entered the jet tool ??? How often does that happen Sir ?? The hydro-jet is the best for cleaning cast iron pipes Sir ??? Nicely done video for sure Mr. Green's.
That was pretty good camerawork all things considered. Well done sir, and thanks for posting it. 🏆
Excellent video
I was told I have one root on my sewer line, I was told we have to dig to get root out🤷🏻♀️
If the roots are minimal, root killer might help. But it takes days to work. Running water will wash it away. If it does work you will need to use it every few months.
I'm a plumber. Drain cleaners make a commission when they sell dig jobs, so they'll always want to dig. If it's one root, just jet it.
You’re being scammed High pressure hose will clear the roots, and if there is a problem with the pipe, it can be re-lined, which requires no digging I had it done at my house, and the work was finished in 6 hours
@@justinlee5958 how effective is jetting overall?
In this situation hydro jetting is a waste of time and money, you can clearly see that the pipe has severely shifted and will soon collapse. I’m not sure if you only had a root intrusion or similar issues like this video here. Hydro Jetting is meant to remove and flush out any build up or debris. Here, there using a unique jetting head that attaches to the end of the hose, it rotates at a very high velocity due to the pressure from the water and cuts roots. This will only buy you time, but it will not fix anything. Not a smart idea given they have a camera that showed them the shifted sewer line…this is no belly, this is a section of pipe that has shifted and needs to be repaired! Also, as far as going trench-less, like a liner would be a terrible mistake 🤦♂️ please beware of these so called plumbers, the real and only solution is to repair or replace it 🙏
Can you reline the main line?
Probably not in this case. I saw a Y. Looks like a neighbor is tied into this line as well
I apologize, but not much information was given. Important, yet very easy to pass along to the viewer is : what kind of jetter ? psi ? gpm ? what kind of nozzle ? thank you.
If I had to make an educated guess I would say the Jetter unit is most likely a tow behind that hose is 3/8 diameter with a warthog Jetter nozzle those units can operate anywhere from 3000 to 4500 psi at anywhere from 7 1/2 to 10 gallons a minute. When utilizing large nozzles like that it's all about water volume over water pressure. There are different size hoses and nozzles and configurations for specific jobs.
So if the pipe is broken is there any easy way to repair it without breaking floor?
Doubtful. Sorry to say.
There is a bladder Insert that is impacted with resin epoxy stuff and forced through. It does reduce Internal diameter of pipe but pipe is usable after. Saw many cities using it on tv and some on UA-cam
Nice quality video what kind of camera is that?
I can’t answer that one, but what I do know is that I have seen inspection cameras like this, that cost near $15k insane.
Rigid
Great flicking video!!! I'm a tech with Mr. ROOTER, and this video is spot on. Very talented, skilled tech to get this work and video!!! Good Job!!!
Is that pipe broke
When roots dig though it, yes.
Cracked and offset
how many psi is your machine?
About 2500psi during this job.
Did you use that warthog to flush them debris down also? Or did you switch to a different kind?
So regarding the broken pipes how is that not an issue that was quite a bit and had to have come from somewhere and recently or long after pipes installed.
exactly what i was wondering.. "heres some broken pipe, we'll flush that down" but wheres the damage????
great video thanks
Hello, What is the PSI for this machine? Do you recommend not going above a certain PSI for corrugated plastic piping - to avoid damage to the pipe
The Jetter is 4000 psi overall but not to go over 3800 psi when jetting.
How much did that job cost?
Apparently he doesn’t answer
I paid $750
@@alcopower5710: Selassie: Bless. Well done.
Great viewing. Neat job.
Good video. where are you located!
Is it true hydrojetting has to be done on an exterior clean out? Could a plumbing company do a hydrojet down an interior clean out?
I've seen it done inside. The machine is outside with a long feed line running into the building.
I did that job some days for Toronto water We didn't want to go inside because if the jet or snake got caught the city would be in a very expensive position to have to dig it out
Put a man on the moon you think we know how to do this
Why is this the bane of existence for homeowners
What is the GMP on that?
Gallons per minute???
That's a nasty root
