Scott LeDeoux had tremendous heart. Scott was sort of a Great White Hope heavyweight boxer.

This fight had echoes of the Lyle Foreman fight from 76, but not as dramatic. Lyle had this tendency to lean back when his opponent punched-for television, that makes it look like his opponent nailed him. But clearly the ringside judges could see all of LeDeoux’s misses. Like Cossell’s comment: “Larry Holmes could put these two guys in his pocket.”
