This game is awesome, especially for Terminator fans. There's nothing revolutionary about it, but it's still a great time, especially the DLC playing as a T-800.
The best thing about this game is how much Teyon cared about Terminator movies fans. The level of fan service in this game is just mental. You can see the dinner in which, Saraha worked, with that goofy looking Big Jeff figure, the dead body of Robert Patrick in the hospital, the truck which Stranger run over the terminator, who also wore the cloths of Arnie from T1, was from T2. I can go on and on about this, especially in the updates and DLC. Heck - In later updates they got the rights to use "Burning In The Third Degree" song (that one from Tech Noir in Terminator 1) and face of Franco Columbu, who played the role of Terminator attacking resistance hideout in Kyle's nightmare, for an infiltrator unit. The only thing they actually could do to make this game more true to the source material is to get rights for Arnie looks, but that would be too expensive.
I'll never forget the first encounter with the T800s in the bombed out dilapidated hospital. The music is ominous, your weapon is inadequate, you're outnumbered. Robots have never been so scary in a game
Just remember people you cant spell ignorant without IGN. I actually really enjoyed this game... Loved robocop rogue city too.. fingers crossed we eventually get that RoboCop vs Terminator reimagining
This game was great it nailed the future war aspect IGN tends lie with ratings teyon redeemed themselves with this game theres a really good moment when sneaking around a hospital and you come across a resistance soldier that was robert patrick it was cool seeing some T-800 models equipped with flamethrowers
Terminator Resistance is awesome. It's double A, and you can tell, but the respect for the source material shines through at every angle and that's what makes you forgot about the double A budget
Yeah same here. I loved it when it first came out, then it got updated several times with bug fixes and stability issues, it got even slightly better graphically. The T-800 DLC was a blast to play ! Right there I knew that they would perfectly nail the Robocop game !😉
If you're a fan of the true Terminator films, 1,2 & then done, buy this game. I've got the special edition for the Series X, it feels like the Terminator universe. Also RoboCop Rogue City is brilliant fun.
I’m with you man those T800’s are hard as f*ck. Those exploding spiders! F*ck those little f*ckers lol. You really feel like part of the resistance smashing those metal muddas to junk, very atmospheric. The music is legit really helps draw you in. I think the lower budget helps the asthetic of the game, much like the superb Robocop. The human npcs are very genky here, but you can just skip through their diolouge. Try Farcry 3 blood dragon it has that same retro 80’s action movie vibe. Its even voiced by Michael Biehn from Aliens & Terminator. Another very underated shooter.
I tried to replay Blood Dragon in the past couple of years but apparently it runs like shit on modern PCs. Don't know what it is. Too bad they never made a sequel, I would have bought it in an instant.....🙄
@@maidenengland8539 Thanks man, but after playing it at 144fps on PC I could never go back to an unstable 30fps LOL......Emulating a 360 might give some improvement though, for sure a resolution bump should be easy achievable 😉
I freaking love this game, made for the fans by the fans, the final charge is one of the best gaming experiences I have ever had, true masterpiece. And from and Indy developer amazing.
I don’t know how anyone could say this game is bad. I don’t know what would make a Terminator game much better than this. They should add a Multiplayer humans vs Terminator mode where you can play either side. But that’s about it. Certainly isn’t a negative that the mode isn’t there it would just be nice.
The game was fun, it felt like Terminator and it was well made, it won't win any rewards or be called a game of the year, it would just a decent game and decent these days with the state of the gaming industry is good. I think Dark Fate Defiance is also a good RTs game be it quite hard, but you see the effort in both games, the love for the world. Yes the Dark fate game had to have Legion in it but you could tell the game developers really tried to make Legion work and really did make Skynet units just named as Legion. IGN can't understand that because they're these days reviewers for hire, you pay them enough and they will praise or bash any game you want.
It's fine to ignore reviewers. I said this on the steam hub for the game 3 years ago after IGN dunked on the Kyle Reese DLC and I'll repost it here - This game was made for fans of an almost 40 year old film. The opinions of a 20-something "reviewer" are irrelevant. This was before his time, to him it's some old movie tie in and probably very cringe. Teyon made this for us, the folks who grew up with Terminator / Aliens / Predator / Robocop etc, and we all F***ing love it.
The attention to detail and care towards the terminator franchise is great and should be commended, but i cant pretend that i didnt feel like i was playing a cheap far cry knock off. The game handles its license well, but fumbles at literally everything else. It should be noted that robocop: rogue city is by the same people and is legues better as an actual game.
I think it's a great game. This may be the first time I have heard anyone say it's 'bad'. I've seen where it didn't get A+ reviews, but it didn't get failing reviews either. The overall user review is 4.3 out of 5.

That’s why I often enjoy games like this that have a lower budget, over AAA games. They clearly care a lot about the source material :)
I have Resistance on Xbox, and I think it’s a phenomenal $40 budget title. Honestly it may be the legitimate T3 that legitimate fans deserve.
I'll never forget the first encounter with the T800s in the bombed out dilapidated hospital. The music is ominous, your weapon is inadequate, you're outnumbered. Robots have never been so scary in a game

As a Terminator fan I thought the game was amazing, and the difficulty felt just right 👍
we need to take IGN, Kotaku, PC Gamer & co away from metacritic
Its one of the best "mid" games I've ever played. Real THQ nordic vibes here. 😊
Huge Terminator fan here...
This game was aggressively 'ok'
Never trust ign's reviews because yakuza in general get's less then 7 and it always an enjoyable experience 😂 oh and Alien Isolation 💀
very true, the yakuza games all deserve 8/10 minimum :)
@@McjellGames will you do a video with a yakuza game in the future :))?
@@claudiukulcsar456 Yep, not to sure when, but it will definitely happen :)
Good news is that The Terminator is soon to be released in cinemas in restored 4K, at least in the UK. Not sure about other countries.
I might have to check that out 🤔
Holy shit really????

It's a tough survival game early and then it becomes a easier shooter
This game is really good. It's much better than the large majority of AAA slop that comes out nowadays.
IF critics hate it, it is more than likely fans will like it.
bought this game on sale on steam for 50% off. absolutely worth it. its absolutely better than some AAA titles

That multiplayer idea would be so awesome :)
IGN is shit. And they've learned stunts brings clicks and traffic, which is why they're doubling down on such stuff recently.
I actually really enjoyed this game. Even more than Robocop; which was really good.
@@Stoffinator it’s really good, I do prefer Robocop though personally :)
Nit picking but , Robocop, I’m losing interest … by around the time I was looking for people to sign Lewis’ get well soon card

Man, I can't remember the last time I actually took an IGN review seriously. This game is solid as. Might pick it up again now.
Wasn't easy.. in the main campaing, by the end, i was broken😂😂😂 could kill anything in no time😂😂😂
I personally loved this game. Its very short thou thats prolly a reason some had issue but since i paid $5 for it I got my moneys worth.
$5 is a bargain

Think they added a harder difficulty after he first reviewed it. Extreme i think? I loved it on ps4, now the ps5 version even better
I struggled on normal mode, I can’t imagine extreme 😅
Of course not. It's easily one of the better Terminator games and a solid companion piece to James Cameron's Time Travel classic.
@@NebLleb yep, I agree ☺️
I have to say, if this game was 60 dollars, I could 100% understand why some people hate this game, but for 40 dollars, I found it enjoyable.
Loved this game.

Terminator was tough
This game was actually great. Not sure what people are talking about. Robocop wasn't bad, but this was much better and it came out years prior.
I like this game a lot, but I do personally prefer Robocop :)
Hard disagree. There's so many parts of TR that are bog-standard and decidedly mid tier in terms of quality compared to robocop.
Ramp up the difficulty and turn off the hud. You’re in a Terminator film. Critics haven’t a clue. Play what you like.
This was was very tough
im glad im not the only one 👍😂
Nope... This game is Bloody good.... absolute bargain.. If u love Terminator (the good ones... eye roll)... u will love

Ey? No not at all who said it was bad?!
Terminator 1 is wayyy better than terminator 2
I’d have to disagree with you on that one friend 😅
Disagree
Its not bad i love it
Well, there's your problem
It's IGN. The hell did you expect? Lol they probably didn't get paid to write a good review.
You know it's bad when you look at it for 1-4 seconds and realize it's bad.
This is such a bait video, no one thinks this game is bad.
Fans like it, critics hated it
Yes, this game's a turd.
Lame click bait title. This game is generally liked by fans of the IP.
By the fans yes, not by critiques. That’s why I played the game and made the video, to see for myself
@@McjellGames Fair enough. :)
this game is awesome! its a bit wooden at times but still great, good gameplay, atmosphere of T1 and T2. Its a gem. play it for cry sake.

IGN??? lol
