  • Mitch Gallagher and Don Carr present the Line 6 Helix LT. Line 6 Helix LT is one of the most powerful, feature-laden, and true-sounding compact multi-effects/modeling units available, especially at such an accessible price. You'll be glad to know that all the HX models and dual DSP power of the original Helix are present and accounted for. You'll even be enjoying the convenience and speed of the Helix user interface, which is becoming legendary for its intuitive workflow. And Line 6 has carefully and considerately carved away extra I/O on Helix LT's back panel, ensuring the unit still has everything you need for your music and nothing that will get in your way.

    Thanks, love your videos. Love my Helix LT. Great possibilities, pristine sound, the ease of use to program or adjust. Intstantly access with 6 knobs to whatever effect you select. You can use it as a stompbox! 8 boxes under your foot in one preset. You can switch channels on your amp. 8 snapshots per preset, so influence any parameter you like within a snapshot. What's more to want?

      Hi,
      I was hesitating between the Boss RC 505, Boss RC 505 MKII, and the Boss RC 600, when I came across the Boss GT 100 which I found out was outdated, and then stumbled upon the Helix Effects, Helix Stomp, and the Helix LT.
      I have an electric guitar, and a MIDI piano.
      My goal is to experiment and write music. I want to get a looping station as well as something like Helix that has lots of effects that are easily accessible.
      I was thinking maybe I’d get the Boss RC 505 MKII to loop the piano, voice, and guitar, and either the Helix Effects or the Helix LT. although I like the sound of my amp, so I don’t know if I should get the Helix Stomp in that case?
      I would really appreciate some advice!
      Thanks! :D

      Hi, cjc2611. Yes, the LT shows the names of the switch assignments on the screen instead of on scribble strips, and it doesn't have as many connectivity options. If you don't need those extra things, it can be a great way to save some money.

      @sweetwater  4 роки тому +3

      Hi, Darth. You can plug the Helix directly into the PowerCab from Line 6 or other full range/flat response speakers, but not directly into a regular guitar cab. The Helix lacks a power amp in the pedal, so you would need something like the Seymour Duncan PowerStage (170 or 700) or the Synergy Amps SYN-5050. Those links are here:
      PowerStage
      www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PowerStage700--seymour-duncan-powerstage-700-700-watt-guitar-amp-head
      www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PowerStage170--seymour-duncan-powerstage-170-170-watt-pedal-board-guitar-amp-head
      Synergy
      www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SYN-5050--synergy-syn-5050-rackmount-2-by-50-watt-tube-amp
      From the power amps listed above, you would then go into a guitar speaker cabinet. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me anytime. Thanks for the interest!

    The medium to high gain amp models and distortion are too hard clipped and result in severe clipping and saturation. This sounds muddled and harsh. • @brpadington
      @brpadington 7 років тому

      Just because you don't notice it doesn't mean it isn't there. It is generally in the upper mid range. If you have a good impulse response you can make it almost disappear. I run mine through a Marshall Half stack and the cabinet filters it out.

    • @brpadington
      @brpadington 7 років тому

      ***** Like I said just because you can't hear it doesn't mean it isn't there. If you run the helix through a spectrum analyzer they have digital noise in the 3000 hertz range. This is caused by the poor impulses line 6 uses. Using third party Impulses makes it sound a lot better.

      I think this is a bad deal at this price. I will keep using my HD500, thanks, unless the normal Helix sells at £600 or less. The LT for me is a step backwards as I like to connect two guitars at the same time, for quick access during a gig or to jam along with a friend, connecting an MP3 device for practicing or perform with. I am sure many will think that £400 less from its big brother is worth buying but not for me.

    • @AndGuitar
      @AndGuitar 7 років тому +2

      AirRifleSport I have to agree, the Helix rack is about $100 less than the Helix pedalboard and have already seen both available used for around $1100ish. For a couple hundred more you get that a lot more routing inputs/outputs plus the scrible scripts are 100% necessary IMO, wait until people start selling these used for $600-700 in a few months then it will be a bargin.

      I agree completely. I didn't hear anything on the Helix demo that couldn't be done on a Boss Gt 100. I've had my Boss for about 5 years now and I am still discovering cool new sounds from it. Plus one major design flaw with the Helix is the stomp pedals are WAY too close together for someone with an average sized foot. Another thing is that you can only program so many presets on a multi fx unit that sound good. After that you are just duplicating presets. So 1024 presets, while it sounds impressive is pretty much useless in real life. $1000 for the Helix? No thanks.
