    Pete, your demo of great clean tones is something that is not demoed much. We usually you get high gain and all dirt you can stand. I salute you! Please do more.

    Hey Pete! Subbed!! I've been using Line 6 units/boards since the POD 2.0 for like the last 15 years.. Where I play we cannot have stage volume and there are no isolated cabinets for amps, so i have been a very loyal dedicated user of Line 6 units. It makes me happy to see someone such as yourself give some credit to how awesome the Helix is. Just a quick tip, while you are fiddling around with trying to find the right cabinet/mic, use the looper so it can play on its own while you tweak it to your likings! Cheers!

    Thanks for this video. I recently got a Helix, and now I'm faced with having gear that does more than I do. You make good sound, Pete, so I appreciate both the "how to navigate the gear" tutorail, but also being shown a process to make a good chain.

    That’s what I like to see , technology made for dummies, the best video on the helix so far. It’s great to see someone go through what may be easy for most people but confusing for others . Let’s get the basics down first. Thanks for this great video and keep expanding on others features of the helix. I’m old school and have a hard time getting into new technology.

    This is the most useful Line 6 Helix video on UA-cam. No endless yammering or metal mania. I've had my LT for a very long time but have been too intimidated by its learning curve to commit to it but I watched this video and created my preset while following along. The very next night I played a full set using nothing but my Helix and an FRFR cab for one of the best shows I've ever had. Much thanks, Pete! P.S. Would love to see an update video showing some new tricks and advice.

    I've had my helix for a few weeks now, I like the effects and amps ok but the routing and versatility are where it really shines. If you can think it, it will probably do itSnap shots are very cool also as you can change any parameter on any block per snapshot so its like being able to not just turn off and on effects but also change settings slightly or massively - crazy amount of control

    Hi Pete
    I enjoy seeing you on videos. I saw you when a line 6 representative was trying to convince you to go helix. He showed you had to create a patch and then I watched this one. I was hesitant to get the helix worried about creating a patch....but no more and so I bought the helix and it’s on its way!
    I know you mentioned about impulse downloads but mention that can lead to a rabbits ::::, however can you show us how to do it or down load a patch that someone else created
    That would be awesome
    Thank you so.....

    Good sound..... first Helix video I have seen with the effects before the amp, though. I always put them after, or between amp n cab.
    Between is like an FX loop. After is like the effects being applied 'at the board'

    • @danishpete
      @danishpete  6 років тому +9

      I like all my effects in the front of the amp... I have always used vintage amp that doesn't hve effects loops so its how I would naturally do it :-). Best P

    • @AdmWright
      @AdmWright 6 років тому

      @@andrewjackson829 because he has the mods before the amp and cab....just odd. I like it, but I like my mods after the poweramp stage. I couldn't buy an amp without an FX loop now. Also, I prefer verb after the cab to get a more....studio....quality verb.

    Did you prefer helix or kemper? In terms of sound quality and ease of use? I’m definitely a tube amp and pedals but I’m finding stage volume a problem, well not me, but the sound engineer! So need to look into an alternative. But it has to be dead simple and great tone!

  • @amdenis
    @amdenis 6 років тому

    Great video; nice of you to create it- such great and useful detail. Also, many top international rock and other touring bands are using Helix and others boards as effects processors. Obviously you could create a patch to act as a primitive IEM system, but there are probably better systems for that (and finally some are even reasonably priced). If you bought one for effects and such, or as part of a Variax workflow, then why not try it for IEM, but I never considered that as a primary market/use. It is interesting that you associate it with quiet (no monitor wedge) stage work, as I have never thought of them from that perspective- how did you come to that as a primary use?

    would the best idea to start your programming be to insert the amp model to run the effects through while choosing them? may be simple, and i'm considering going this way for small gigs where my valve amp can be left out and my much larger pedal board. just know i'm going to get a headache with the programme side of it.

    • @Nicky-T

    Great playing as always Pete! I haven't tried Helix yet but the "cheaper" Line 6, Zoom and Boss multi pedals I have plugged into through a PA optimistically hoping to get a good sound have had me reaching for my Vox AC10 with a mic in front and a couple of nice pedals and getting that response from the guitar and strings that seems to disappear from the multi boxes. Does the Helix give you that feeling or get close? I know I have watched the Kemper demo with the Captain and know some of this may be imagination, but I went in with an open mind to try and do a gig through the PA with a box on the floor and the tiny Vox AC10 mic'd won hands down for me and the band listening. Not sure for the audience!

    Hi Peter, thanks for the video!
    Do you think the Helix would work for my following idea:
    I want to give up to 40-50 students at least 3 different customised settings, say clean, crunch, more gain. How would they choose their 3 settings easily? Can I have like 40-50 user banks, every bank having those 3 settings? And would it be easy for the students to switch to their bank (without clicking thru 40 other banks in every lesson)?
