    Rough finish blew me away. What a great idea. Each knife is different, different markings, different rough finish. Unique for sure. Well done, great video work.

    Outstanding ! His design reminds me the RAT 5, but i'm sure it's even better ! I just don't know from what kind of steel is forged, but it's realy handsome, and i'm sure it's very strong ! If i was rich man, i was gona buy him, no matter the price !

      Leaf spring or 5160 is good steel. Properly heat treated it will take and hold a razor edge. This guy seems to know his heat treat.

    It’s all preference man. I do both the rough finish and the nice polished finish. I have customers who prefer rough over polished.

    Everything i love in this knifemaking! Perfect piece. Just a question: how do you know the temperature of the heat treating? I use a magnet to know how to temper my jeap leafspring but i dont know if it's very accurate... Keep going! i subscribe ;)

    Nice! You work on same grinder as me, except I have mine set up horizontally. How do you like the your flat disc sander? I was thinking about getting one, do you use it much? Awesome to see ya work, great video!

    Amazing work! I’m very inspired. I was wondering what you sharpened the knife on...it looked almost like a small belt sander with a very fine grit? Thank you.

      Thank you! The sharpener I use is the WorkSharp Ken Onion Edition, and as far as the belts go, there are a bunch of different grits you can use to achieve the desired sharpness on your blade.

    What kind of oil did you put on the handle and what grinder is that

      The finishing oil on the handle was Birchwood Casey Tru Oil. And if you go to my shop tour video I give a pretty in depth look at the tools in my shop. 👍

    Alrededor de la cuchillería, el efectismo de las formas, bastardeo de modo notable el arte de cómo cuchillos, a la distancia no es posible juzgar si no solo las formas, siendo el cuchillo uaa eficaz y vital herramienta, no se lo puede tomar a la ligera, sin embargo a diferencia de los cuchilleros a únicamente el uso de la piedra aca se ve algo aunque insuficiente del tratamiento de forja que se le da a una hoja, otro detalle importante es la música, estoy harto de ver como se modifica el arte en desmedro de este, presentandonos mamarrachos insoportables producto precisamente de la ausencia de espíritu crítico, vaya en consecuencia mi aliento y buena vibra para ti y gracias por compartir tu trabajo.

      С внутренней стороны ножен сделай полоску из шинели или чего подобного и пропитай её вазелином. Нож входит в ножны, трётся боками о пропитаную ткань и смазывается...
      Даже если забыл протереть от вазелина извлечённый клинок, ничего страшного не произойдёт. Вазелин не вызовет никаких отравлений.
      ;))

    This knife is beautiful. But please turn of the funeral music. Btw why are you using the forge(that is not protected with fire cement which is dangerous for your lungs... Ceramic fibers... I'm sure you know... yeah.... 😱) for hardening when you have a heat treat oven???

      That forge does have a coat of protective cement over the fibers. And this knife I dident want to heat treat in the kiln to show it’s easily obtained in a forge if you know what to look for.

      @@HensleyHandmadeKnives I do all my heat treat and tempering on my forge. I have a 1906 coal fired forge. I use water quench, mainly because that's what I know best

    You know what? You are not the best knife maker on UA-cam. Hell, I don’t really like this knife’s design. But. But, you present the topic as well as anyone. To the point. The fact that I may quibble over a profile is of no meaning whatsoever. The notion that you are comfortable in the craft does. Well done.
