Average players are between 18 and 25. Their body shape is closer to a triathlete because the emphasis is on running and endurance. The average player can kick the ball to someone running full speed from 40 metres and hit them on the chest. In the last 4 years the tackling has become the most important thing from the players without the ball. Richmond has become the most physically aggressive team and consequently the best team on average in that period.

The playground society? Wtf. Aren’t they cannibalistic?
I'm a new American fan of the AFL. Once you get into the sport and learn what's happening, you realize its more entertaining than just about every popular sport there is. The whole game is built for speed and spectacle. Give it a try. You'll probably love it.
Its also 60 years older than NFL
Agreed bro, honesty it looks like the most physically taxing sport out there
If you like AFL, you should also try rugby. Same emphasis on speed, tact, strategy, and raw athleticism. I switched to rugby when CTE made American football unappealing to me, and I never miss football.
SweetSirenia They’ve already had former players diagnosed with CTE in Australian rules and one of the rugby leagues. Due to the nature of these sports, I’m certain they’re not the last. Contact sports of this nature will be extinct like the Dodo once all of the trauma comes to light.
@@SweetSirenia I don't agree mate. Afl is way more athletic than any code of Rugby. Billy Slater said as much not long ago. Said it really surprised him.

They actually do some rowing, gym, normal training etc. AFL players are taller and more slimly built than our rugby league and rugby union players, in league and union the guys are more muscled but that's cause they don't have to jump so high, they have to use their body to push past 3-4 guys when they have the ball. This guy could lift Conan, a 6'4" man, like it's nothing! Pretttty impressive. And they're all quite easy on the eye, too. Where can I watch some Australian football?
Average players are between 18 and 25. Their body shape is closer to a triathlete because the emphasis is on running and endurance. The average player can kick the ball to someone running full speed from 40 metres and hit them on the chest. In the last 4 years the tackling has become the most important thing from the players without the ball. Richmond has become the most physically aggressive team and consequently the best team on average in that period.

@Jim The NFL is only relevant to American's and pathetic people who feel they need to latch onto American culture. Take off the maxi pads and learn to play both offense and defense. Then we can talk. I mean come on each section of play only last seconds before everyone takes a break to catch their breath in the NFL. True athletes play AFL

To grow up with it for the last 22 years, and going through the steps that the players go through to get to the AFL, it’s a testament to their strength, conditional, desire and will. It’s extremely difficult to be a successful player since it’s the most popular sport here, it has the most amount of youngsters looking to make it in the big league.
