    “Why do they let their hair fly like that?” This is a ST Jude’s children’s event, kids find it very interesting and entertaining seeing Sarah and Anna with huge spread of hair (and it shows just how weightless space is).“There must be hair flying everywhere on that thing” they keep it tied back and only spread it like this for the videos.

      @@wildlifeonwheels4236 actually space isn't weightless. The constantly falling spacecraft causes them to be weightless. If you would go straight up to space and stop, you'd fall straight back down.

    I’m pleased to see the experiments being done, because it definitely takes this beyond the Blue Origin “Space Tourist” style mission, and makes this a distinct step forward towards doing long term interplanetary travel! Proud of your efforts and thanking Jared for his financing of this mission.

    And while we're giving praise where praise is due, a shout out to the incredible teams at SpaceX who are making access to LEO as routine as a bus trip to Niagara Falls. Someday future generations will be catching flights on a SpaceX Starship to The Moon, Mars and the Asteroid Belt Mining Complex. You folks should be legends in the history books by then...

      @@Saeid415 I don't think they are doing any upgrades except whatever the customer wants done to the capsule, they are focusing on starship replacing Falcon 9, but I got a feeling that's going to be harder than they thought. Starship causes a huge disruption to the community within a 40 mile circle. There's no way they'll be able to launch as much as falcon 9, unless they come up with something that can deflect the shock waves away from the ground, or absorb the energy.

    After over 20 years of Space Station experiments in space, I'm not sure how much these experiments will add to what's already known, but one never knows. It gives them something to do for 5 days, anyway. Maybe new sensors? All in all, still quite a mission. It does prove that Polaris Dawn can get to the Hubble Space Telescope for a possible repair mission, which has been considered.

    • @jonmoore873
      @jonmoore873 Місяць тому +1

      It can probably offset some of the cost of the mission by being paid to privately test/sort of advertise them. But I also think they will need to ‘do their own research’ if you’ll excuse the phrase for lots of the mars missions.

    • @mwalczak5603
      @mwalczak5603 Місяць тому +1

      IMO I think the experiments are a PR thing to lend some credibility to the flight. When there was the first private flight, SpaceX did the same thing. Giving hokey titles, And the spacewalk, can't really call it that. They stuck thier heads out basically moved their arms and called it a day. Ed White did more in his 23 minutes in 1965. and don't forget Buzz Aldrin spent 5.5 Hours outside in 1966., he really accomplished something as for testing the suits again hokey, but you do have to give SpaceX credit They made a suit that appears to be more flexible but still needs a lot more testing to see if work can be done with it. and my guess lower cost. When I think about it it's almost insulting to all those who came before.

      Vacuum is a very bad thermal conductor and a very good thermal insulator, therefore things keep their temperature for a long time when exposed to vacuum. A thermos also makes use of the insulating capability of vacuum. The International Spce Station has large radiator panels in space and an active cooling system to avoid overheating due to the excess heat of its electronic devices.

      Actually, Yes! Many astronauts have demonstrated CPR techniques in orbit, in particular on the ISS, both on a device simulating a chest and on other astronauts (but without actually compressing their chest!) As one example, Samantha Cristoforetti posted a video on Twitter in Sept 2022 showing such techniques. A Google search should link you to it.

      Yes. Many astronauts have demonstrated CPR techniques on the ISS, both on chest simulators and on other astronauts (but without actually compressing their chests). Zero-g CPR has been tested many times on parabolic flights also. There's plenty of literature on the subject.
