It's because the suit is pressurized like a balloon and trying to fight against how the shape of the arm is inflated is difficult so he just relaxes his arms. It looks like it is in a weird position because that is the way it was built to look like when it is inflated.
@@twinengine12 so is it not pressurized any other time ? what about when they're inside and the hatch is opened ? who don't they all have their arms funny inside ?
No, this was just a test of the ir tightness, flexibility, and thermal properties of the suit under actual EVA conditions. There was no need actually to exit the spacecraft.
I find it very convenient and curious that they NEVER EVER show the hatch being opened even when they have the camera showing seconds before it's "opened". 😂😂😂
It's always the lazy non Motivated human beings who always put down others when they Successful. This wasn't a moon landing .. or a trip to Mars.. they opened a door a couple hundred miles above earth 🌎..
It looks like Spacex is pursuing and refining (along with others) the traditional "gasbag" spacesuit concept. I'm remembering some of the work Dr. Dava Newman of MIT did using the suit itself as a means of pressurization, being skin-tight, not blowing up like a balloon, thereby offering more mobility. Haven't heard anything more about it in years. Has this concept been debunked or just ignored. Has her work (if valid) had any influence on further spacesuit design?
Nothing is real anymore since Apollo 11. The Internet changed everything, and now it’s all CGI. The world is now perfect because Internet tells us the truth.

They won't never turn all the way around. Cost to much money in movie props to get set up and the more chance of something going wrong or not looking good enough on the final recording
Genuine question but why is it that we couldn’t see actual footage of the hatch opening?? Was it a bug? Technical difficulties?? Idk but sometimes I do question the timing on when coincidental circumstances happen all of a sudden

@@susangriffis1588 Camera = aperture + film/sensor + shutter. Photography uses light to create an image (on the sensor) of those objects that are visible through the lens/aperture. Aperture allows in light for a specific time via the shutter speed and aperture setting. Bigger aperture + slow shutter = more light delivered to sensor. Smaller aperture + fast shutter = less light delivered to sensor. These all have to be set via manual or auto to capture whatever subject. If a close subject is bright (ie Earth in sunlight, white spacesuit) and/or moving then you need a short exposure to capture the action and to not overexpose/wash out. Stars are not as bright and so require a very long exposure to register on the sensor. In a high contrast scene where you have dim and distant stars and also bright close or moving objects, then you set the camera to capture the bright close or moving objects. Stars require a long exposure to register on current sensors. But a long exposure will wash out your other brighter subjects and create motion blur where there is movement. In short, the dynamic range of a sensor (like the human eye, but currently less sensitive) is not broad enough to successfully expose for both dim and bright objects together. So in a high contrast scene, then you (or the auto settings) are forced to choose which to expose for. Dim stars or bright/moving subject? Eyes aren’t so very different. They have more dynamic range than most camera sensors, but you can’t also see the Milky Way if you are also viewing or have just been looking at something close and bright. Your eyes need time to dark-adapt. For instance, if you were in a floodlit basketball court at night, your eyes would automatically ‘choose’ (auto-set your cone photoreceptors/sensor in your retina, and set a narrow aperture using your iris/aperture) to see the bright court, not the dim stars. I described still photography, and video (of stars) is even more challenging. You won’t see hardly any (if any) live video of a sky full of stars. For capturing the stars, photographers and videographers will instead use long time-lapse exposures and then create an animated video comp from them. Experiment for yourself next time there is a full moon? See if your camera captures the moon and/or the stars around it? Compare the photo and video to your eye-view of the scene. You can also look at photos of the full moon online and see how many stars have also been captured around it. Hope this helped you understand A. How a camera works? and B. About the challenge of photography in high contrast situations? That’ll be $150 for the hour. Bargain, I’m sure you’ll agree 😉
@@susangriffis1588 cameras have a hard time reading distant light due to exposure and the reflection of objects near by like the suit the shuttle the light reflecting off his helmet

Has her work (if valid) had any influence on further spacesuit design?

those stars are so bright
Either they couldn’t afford CGI stars or you don’t understand video cameras….
@tubecated_development i definitely don't understand cameras as i should, but i do stir the pot. would you school me on cameras? I'm all ears
