Thanks for doing this Dr. Cutress. Gordon deeply respected you and highly valued your take on much more than CPUs. You guys were great to watch together.
Yeah this one really punched me in the gut yesterday. It's rare that you genuinely love a journalist, but I loved Gordon and I've followed him since BOOT. Every time he opened his mouth exactly what I would say myself would come out. He never failed to entertain while educating and repeatedly proving why he was the goat. We'll miss ya man. I'll keep making fun of SFF builds and 2 seater coupes for you.
So sorry to see you doing this on Christmas Eve, condolences to his family. I remember your video with him, people who have such fun with tech are great to watch. Kind of you to do this.
Gordon Mah Ung is one of the first people I knew the name of in the OC Hardware industry. I will always fondly remember him and listening to his "rants of the week" as a kid on the Maximum PC No BS Podcast. I went back and listened to some them for the first time in over a decade right after hearing the news from Steve's video on Gamers Nexus
first heard the news by seeing Gamers Nexus tribute thumbnail come up on my feed and very sad. I wouldnt typically tune into the Full Nerd but I did follow a lot of pc hardware channels esp around trade tech show time like CES and Computex and always loved Gordon Ung's energy and great voice for voice over in youtube videos and passion for what he did. miss you Mr Ung!
@@sezwo5774Hard working people have aspirations and goals. Regardless of the system. You don't have that that's why Gordon was very much loved and you're a random guy on a comment section.
His Full Nerd intro (and him often messing up said intro, lol) still rings through my ears. "In THIS episode of the Full Nerd... aaghhhh...." It always made me giggle when he had to redo the intro. But man, Gordon really was a treasure to the industry. I remember first seeing him in his Hardcore Hardware series back in 2016. Always loved the energy he put into his videos. The Full Nerd really won't be the same without him, but I will continue to watch it in memory of him. Rest in PCs, Gordon. 🙏
i missed the stream. i saw the news while i was lying in bed. meeting him in 2019 after following his work and talking to him on and off... just... so emotional. pancreatic cancer (all cancer) SUCKS!!!!!!!
Oh man so sad hear this, I really liked the guy despite or maybe because of the controversial takes he had that I agreed with some and didn't with others. RIP Gordon you will be remembered and missed.
Is Gordon in the tech writer hall of fame? The better question is, which tech writers qualify for entry into the Gordon Mah Ung Tech Writer Hall of Fame? He set the standard.
I avoid posting or leaving comments....even more to watch it LIVE and do it in the LIVE Chat...once I did. Alaina ❤ noticed and Gordon ❤ and picked up on me: I don't post on live chats for IT MAY DISTRACT ME and make miss context or important info, and also to avoid distract the Stream: and I got a Gordon Mah Ung, changed the subject Live with some thing like when you are not supposed to speak while the professor is talking, or we (chat) have to rise a hand to get permission to speak... he got me ❤❤ (and...I also noticed way long before that something was "happening" and he never would tell) and I avoided The Full Nerd for a time...When he wasn't in a video,,,,I was scared to watch it.....and heck! just was hearing The Full Nerd Pod cast on Spotify. The Episode 329 December 19...and some words....made me uneasy...30 minutes to the end I got the message of new episode...and...well everyone of you who knew him in person is so freaking lucky. But the weight you all fell of what happen. ❤❤❤❤❤ ....I repeated the ep 329 and went back to bed and fell asleep
I wonder what you'll find to test in your Final Frontier. 🖖🫶 Always be testing, Gordon! I'll always be grateful for the knowledge you've imparted and the ethics and consumer advocacy you've brought to the tech industry. Much love to all those you've left behind.
RIP Gordon, we'll never forget you. Thank you Potato.
I appreciated Gordon's no nonsense approach. My condolences to his Friends and Family. FK Cancer.
