There is a one signficant mistake in 6:48. Poland never had any king named Henry. During age of Mongol conquests Poland was split into a several smaller principalities, just like Kievian Rus. Mongols killed in 1241 the prince Henry II. He was the most powerfull polish prince at this time and would likely become a king later, but he was never crowned as king. Great movie btw

@Demy Troy You are delusional. Alexander used the army his father pioneered and beat an incompetent Persian Shah. Genghis Khan built an army from scratch and took on the Jurchens, Kwarizmians and other powerful Steppe Confederations.
If Alexander the Great had to fight the type of enemies in such a short time and destroy them like The Genghis Khan did, then he would have been hard pressed. Alexander was a genius in his time but against someone like Subutai, Mukhalai or Jebe, he would be destroyed. The Genghisid Mongol Commanders are not some incompetent Persian Satraps who owe their position on their family bloodlines and aristocratic positions. What Alexander did was amazing but when you look at the foes he faced you begin to realise most of his enemies were fools who shouldn't have been given command of armies.
You can't compare an iron/bronze age army against a iron/steel age army. The Heteroi would be the medieval equivalent of Medium Cavalry and they can't compare against the Royal Keshig who are better armoured, faced against so many different types of enemies and better armed. The technology level between the two Empires are very wide.
Also you have to take account about the information on Alexander. Ancient Greeks are notorious for lying or exaggeration. Everything we know about Alexander comes from his personal historians. Do you really think his personal historians would dare to write the truth for fear of being executed or losing their salaries?
Everything we know about the Mongols come from their enemies who hated them. And its the same story they tell; "they came, they beat us despite having less numbers, they killed our young men, raped our women and children and destroyed our homes".

Demy Troy the general rule in ancient Warfare is that the Calvary beats infantry, if you include horse archery , I doubt any infantry could win against Calvary. Even the Romans had trouble with Calvary. Horses mattered in war because the Mongols would be tired of carrying equipment or marching all day which equals to conservation of troops as well as mobility and mass times weight with velocity in a lance charge while being showered with armor piercing arrows. Because the Mongols were so mobile and self sufficient individuals and units they wouldn't be weight down by a baggage train.

It should be noted that while the Mongols conquered more territory in less time than Rome, that doesn’t mean Rome wasn’t capable of doing so. Rome in its territorial history, acquired land and slowly integrated the subjugated peoples into the Roman culture and religion (mainly by adding their gods to Rome’s).
Rome made the decision to expand slowly and methodically, rather than overreaching and not consolidating your resources, learning their lesson from a certain Macedonian Conquer who’s empire practically croaked the moment he did. The Mongols were a victim to this as well

Goryeo(korea) never surrendered to the Yuan Dynasty(Mongol Empire).
It is unequal, but it has only signed a treaty of mutual friendship.
The Goryeo and Yan Dynasty were influenced by each other, not unilaterally controlled. King Goryeo had the right to elect the Emperor of the Yuan Dynasty.
War between Goryeo (Korea) and Mongolia
    1st invasion: Date: August 1231-March 1232
30,000 Mongolian troops invaded. Goryeo succeeded in defending an important castle and bound half of the soldiers, but the capital was besieged, sending the royal family hostages and signing a peace treaty.
    2nd invasion
    Date: August 1232-December 1232
Goryeo moved the palace to the island for war against Mongolia, and Mongolia invaded again.
Mongolia could not properly occupy a single castle, and the commander-in-chief was killed in battle and retreated.
    3rd invasion
    Date: July 1235-April 1239
When the Geum Dynasty fell in 1234, it attacked Goryeo. Mongolia lost several defeats, devastating Goryeo territory over four years and inflicting enormous damage.
Eventually, in the winter of 1238, the Goryeo court proposed Ganghwa to Mongolia, and Mongolia also withdrew in the spring of 1239 on condition of Goryeo Gojong's entrance. But didn't fulfill the promise
    4th invasion
    Date: July 1247-March 1248
Due to the short period, there was no significant damage, and the Mongolian emperor died and withdrew.
    5th invasion
    Date: July 1253-January 1254
It came down to the central part of the Korean peninsula, but was withdrawn without capturing Chungju, an important adult.
    6th invasion
    Date: July 1254-December 1254
The Mongolian army lost all three major siege battles and withdrew.
However, the Mongol army plundered severely and captured 200,000 people, causing great damage.
    7th Invasion-Mongolia's Amphibious Operation
    Date: September 1255-June 1256
The Mongolian army won one battle, but lost six battles and withdrew.
    8th invasion
    Date: May 1257-October 1257
Mongolia lost two battles and withdrew when Goryeo promised friendship.
    9th invasion
    Date: April 1258-March 1259
Mongolia lost two battles and withdrew when Goryeo promised friendship.
1259 Goryeo Prince meets and discusses with Kublai, and Goryeo and Mongolia conclude a peace agreement, although they are unequal.
Mongolia invaded 9 times, but each time they were defeated, they knew it was impossible to conquer Goryeo.
Mongolian emperor Kublai made six promises and said he would not interfere with Goryeo.
The clothes and hats worn on the head do not need to be changed according to the customs of Goryeo
Envoys are banned from anything other than those sent by the Yuan court.
Return to the capital can be adjusted in time at Goryeojeong.
The troops withdrew in the fall.
All of the Official from Mongolia are withdrawn.
Those who volunteered to stay in Mongolia are investigated and returned.
After the discussion, Prince Goryeo asked Kublai to become son-in-law.
Afterwards, the kings of Goryeo became son-in-law of Kublai and his descendants and had the right to elect the emperor.
The Mongolian emperor was able to replace the son-in-law, King Goryeo, but due to Kublai's promise, he could not interfere with anything in Goryeo.
Mongolia could not occupy Goryeo and only signed a peace treaty.
The Mongol emperor was able to replace the king of Goryeo, but he could not easily replace the king of Goryeo, an important member of the imperial family.

Im not sure we can say that Mongols established a State in its conventional form. They ruled by the fear and terror and the power of military, or, adopted the administration of the people who they conquered. You cant compare Mongols with Roman Empire, in any sense.

Ghenghis raped so many women, about 1 of every 200 people of the former empire are his decedents.

Very powerful on paper and had a wide variety of troops. Their problem was bad organisation and outdated military tactics and equipment. For example using lightly armed Persian infantry against Sarrisa Pikemen. They did however hire Greek mercenary Hoplites but never adopted their heavy armour or fighting style to their native troops. Too much focus on archery and static low quality spearmen. Cavalry was good quality but poorly led. The Persians greatest weapon was not their armies but their Diplomacy, Administration and economy. They basically just kept the Assyrian and Babylonian tactics.
