A pal and I are both building this plane and we have decided to epoxy the wing sections together and leave the top wing as one piece. No intention of doing all the assembly and disassembly stuff repeatedly when we have no need of it. No need for any of that 'motor reversing' stuff either as our motorr are all set to take the collete that comes with the spinner.
Nice! Ill never take mine apart either honestly, I really liked stuarts idea of the stretchy wiring in his video, doing all those flying wires takes some time.
GREAT JOB AND GREAT PLANE BUT WITH A 58/60 MOTOR LENGTH YOU DON'T HAVE TO PLAY WITH THE SHAFT UNLESS I DON'T GET SOMETHING CAUSE I BUILT 30/60cc ARF WARBIRDS! FROM 1/1/2020 UNTIL FIRST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER I BUILT MY P47 RAZORBACK WITH KOLM 77V4.NICE DAY AND I'LL WATCH YOUR FLIGHT IN A MIN! !
On page 6 of the instructions it shows/instructs you to epoxy the little 'C' fittings into the edge of the wing half while the wing halves and center sections are together. This would glue the wing halves TOGETHER at 4 tiny locations. Is it the intent of the factory that the wing be left fully assembled all the time? If so, shouldn't there be an instruction to put epoxy on all the exposed and joining wing halves for a more permanent and solid assemble? Or is there some kind of error here?
I have to look at the manual, but did you watch part 1 of the video? it shows me putting all the little pieces in the wings, you dont do it when they are together.
@@JohnVHRC Yeah, ok, I went back and looked again at your Part 1 and I see I just have to carefully glue those little pieces to the ends WITHOUT the wing/center sections 'plugged in'. Can't say these instructions are really the best. Did you GET instructions with your model? I didn't. I have been having to run back and forth twixt the computer pdf and the build area. Not happy with that. Your 'Heart reply' : when I click on it it opens and plays part 2 of your vids. Playing now the whole time as I type this.
@@gunnerbenavente5075 I got beta instructions online, nothing with the model as they were revising them as I had the model. Hope that helps! Its a sweet flyer!
Your new plane looks like a winner John. Gotta love the plywood balsa construction. I'd wish they'd make the prop adapter a little stronger, the aluminum seems to bend on a prop strike.
hi John i am struggling with my build at the moment could you please let me know about the interplanetary struts if possible can you give me the correct length also looking at your wings end on are they negative decalage mine look that way
Oh man, not sure I have a good way to measure them all assembled. If you get the front two on, then the back one I cut to fit on mine as it was way too long. Both my wing look parallel to eachother to me.
@@JohnVHRC John are you saying looking at the wings end on they look the same angle of attack , all my strut dimensions c198mm. a 213mm .b 128.5.(manual said 230mm but actual it was 128.5mm) d 118mm (manual said 120mm) e131mm. I am almost done. There is no way the spinner is going to fit over my Top Flite 15/6 prop. I see at the end of your vid that 1. you do not have a spinner on your plane. and 2. there is a still photo that DOES have a spinner in place. So what's the deal? Do I have to try and dremel my furnished spinner in order to MAKE it fit over the prop hub? This just seems to be another of the MANY things that don't fit or are just a hassle to do or 'make work' on this plane.
Yessir, spinner has to be dremeled out to fit the prop blades. Pretty common with bigger planes and wood props with aluminum or CF spinners, unfortunately.
@@JohnVHRC Any idea what kind of prop that is on the bottom right of page 27 of the PDF? Does not look like wood and seems to have a narrrow higher angled hub that fits the spinner.
On page 8 of the instructions ALL of the length measurements for the cabane struts were wrong! Every one of mine were at least 3 mm shorter than the numbers given in the illustrations. It wasn't until assembly that I thankfully found that mine were the proper length, and the 2 pieces that needed (according to the instructions and illustrations...) to be filed down had already been trimmed so they would fit. Another glaring error on page 8 is the illustration showing the PLACEMENT of struts B and A. On page 8 they are shown in the exact OPPOSITE of where they belong. Page 9 shows them in the correct locations. Poor...very poor....
Too bad you used the oversized pilot .. and the rough carpet they want you to glue behind .. look at the real thing ... It's like the pilot. too big and ruins the impression.

Haha. It’s similar.
which transmitter and receiver is the best to use . what brand or company do you like . How many channels. Thank you
I am partial to Spektrum, been using it for decades with zero problems! How many channels is up to you, if you want to use Y's or not.

That’s I’m not sure. Sorry. They revised the manual a few times while I was building mine.
What battery did you use and what was the final weight?
flight video shows the battery, enfan 4200 6s. This video shows the plane on a scale at the end, 8lbs 7.6oz
