Excellent flying, great site, you make me miss home! I like your simple color scheme, a perfect example of sometimes less is more :) The orange tips really pop. Nice job!
Thanks. Maybe they came expecting an FPV video, or didn't have the patience to wait a few seconds for the flying. I always wonder what people are thinking but will never know. Personally, I only ever thumbs down when there is clear false advertizing in the video's title or thumbnail.
Great video. I just finished assembly of my Kunai, but I want a DLG for my next plane. The price seems right to see if I'll have as much fun as I think I will.
That's very nice sir! Wish we had places like this here in the Netherlands. Do like to slope in Realflight and hope to visit some mountains this summer to try it out.
What's not included in this video?! You got your cyclist, skateboarder, deer, rain in the background, oh and a glider, and some loops!..and a grown up soundtrack. Very nice!
I been asked lately from several if I have purchased a Labelle for slope soaring here in the Midwest. I have not yet, but now I see the Labelle looks like a lot of fun for slope soaring. Did you install wing reinforcement kit? Was there much damage to leading edge of wing done from the strike at 3:30 on the guard rail?
No damage. I installed extra ribbon spars on top just behind the ones on the bottom, and one short one across the center just ahead of the joiner. Much much stiffer.
Great video. I predict that DreamFlight have a huge winner with this one, oreso than with the excellent Alula. Heh, you have longboarders and deer as distractions while you fly. I'm somewhat envious, and I'd probably bring my longboard if I visited. (though it is a bit of a long scoot across the pond ;¬) )
Some folks went through a process with jeffco, and got official permission to fly unpowered sailpanes there, with some limited restrictions on proximity to the road.
Nice video , nice flying , nice plane. i started 2 weeks ago with d.l.g. (h.k mini dlg) and i loved it !! im addicted sinds , hahaha now im building the long shot 4. haha . i will send you a P.M with video link.
Not covered with anything. This one was colored with fat Sharpie markers. I do recommend putting some clear tape on the leading edge to protect it from dents.
@@phil36135My general philosophy for high visibility color schemes is to use mostly white on top with black longitudinal stripes, and fluoro orange tips. I use mostly black on the bottom with white stripes and fluoro tips. Generally white top shows up best against the ground below you, and black bottom shows up best against sky. Bold highest contrast longitudinal stripes provide orientation and are visible when aircraft is inverted. Fluoro tips show up especially well in low light conditions.
Great Flying!!!! Love your Video! I just received my Libelle (Dreamflight) yesterday. :-) Is this a stock libelle or did you do any custom improvements? Reinforcements? Additional weight? Greetings from germany!
+Charles Anderson Everyone should have a Libelle. I haven't been slope flying much lately, but just got out and had some fun with the Libelle this weekend. Had almost forgotten how much fun it is in medium light air.
I decided to buy one. I'm a new bee @ R/C planes. I have a Flite Test Mini Guinea That I'm building but by watching your video I'm going to put that on hold for now. Hope you don't mine I like to steel some of your color scheme for my plane lol. Awesome job on video! 👍👍👍👍👍Thanks Charles ツ
I fly at a similar site with a similar style and I think this video convinced me to buy one. Do you think that it could handle ballast in strong winds without fold or flutter?
It'll handle fairly decent wind without ballast. It does have a speed limit beyond which the foam ailerons start to lock out (can still turn with the rudder though). Ballasting it would just put above that limit more often.
daemn42 thanks, I guess I need 2 gliders. I lost my radian to overspend trying to keep it down in strong winds. I still want this one though I loved the strong pitch control in the video. Beautiful flying.
Apparently there are 10 losers out there watching a beautiful DLG video and give a thumbs down smh.... beautiful glider so peaceful to fly! 👍👍👍 great video
Nice video, is this a standard libelle with no mods? I'm buying one in the U.K. for slope and flat. What servis and battery did you go for? Keep up the ace flying😊
At the time of the vid, it was unmodified. Since then, I embedded some tiny little strips of carbon ribbon edgewise in the foam against the plastic wing holddowns in the fuse to keep them from wiggling around while discus launching, and similarly embedded in the horizontal stab on either side of the existing centering slot, to keep it from rotating (which can cause the elevator to get locked out when clevis is out of place. Using Turnigy TGY-1440A sevos all around. It seemed dumb to me to have a small battery in the nose with an added lump of lead, so I installed a 4xAA NiMH offset pack as far back against the servos as it would go (carved out a little extra foam in fuse and canopy), which balances it just about right and allows for hours of flying.
daemn42, thanks for the reply😊 I've ordered me one and I will look into installing the same carbon if any wiggling is suspected. Any chance of a quick video to show where and how? I have some here from building several le fish style gliders! Great flying tho👍🏻
Close to where I launched from on the NE point of the mountain. If the wind is coming from the North then I'll bring the plane around on the east side out of the lift and drop it below the railing. If from the east, I do the same approaching the north side.
Great Video and fight!. The Libelle is a nice little plane. Love mine! Happy flying!
Bello complimenti ❤❤
Hypnotized by that. Great flying!
Absolutely awesome flying and the soundtrack is so perfect! Got to get a Libelle now!
Best glider (DLG flying) video ever! Thanks for making and sharing!
Nice flying, landscape and slope! I'm building it ready for sloping in the Swiss Alps. Bye from Switzerland, team flying4nature.
Aerial ballet! I'm sold! Gotta get one of these!! Sweet flying!
Excellent flying, great site, you make me miss home!

Nice job!
The way you start the music is so perfect!..And your flying is amazing!
Perfekt flight and Soundtrack. Love IT
This is my favorite sailplane video. Great location and editing! Wow!
This is the best libelle flight video, awesome stuff!
Show off!! Fun break to watch this little escape from reality...
Excellent video - looks like a lot of fun.
_Who would click thumbs down to that? That person has a problem!_
Thanks.

@@daemn42 They may have been expecting a full scale Glasflugel Libelle and not a radio controlled one
@@Rexcat65 could be, but you'd think the thumbnail pic would give it away. ;)
awesome, I just started flying my Libelle and it's my new favorite plane.
Very graceful, I have the Alula and now must have a Libelle!!!
Great flight but I was waiting to see the landing.
Cheers,
Chris
verry appealing beautiful and sereal. awsome flight skills thanks for sharing
Beautiful location and skilful flying.
Great video. I just finished assembly of my Kunai, but I want a DLG for my next plane. The price seems right to see if I'll have as much fun as I think I will.
Incredible - that's now one of my goals in life - to be able to slope like that!
That looks like fun. Tho it makes me nervous they're right on the edge of the road and not in a pullout. :D
Beautiful and brilliant. Well done.
That's amazing! Lovely flying, can't wait for mine to arrive😁
Nice video. Very relaxing flying. It makes me want to dust off my Longshot DLG for the spring. :-)
+valderja Thanks. Some of the most fun I've ever had on the slope was with an old overweight DLG.
They just look so elegant in the air. I'll need to change out my old 72mhz receiver for a 2.4ghz one. Micro helis and quads for me lately. :-)
That's very nice sir! Wish we had places like this here in the Netherlands. Do like to slope in Realflight and hope to visit some mountains this summer to try it out.
i bought one because of this video.. :D
Instantly recognized this place! I was on Lookout this last Saturday sloping my Radian. I'm in the market for a DLG.

very cool! great flying!!
Outstanding control. The only way to make this video better, would require a mostly sunny day.
I'll look forward to more Libelle video's from you.
Wish we had mountains and more importantly roads going up those said mountains in Billericay!
Beautiful flying
That's cool. Is this look out mountain?? I didn't know they still let you slope.. i miss those day!

Beautiful place to fly, where is this?

Can by directly from Dream Flight.

This is precisely what I need to fly on a city hill ... where things have to weigh less than 600 grams to fly beneath controlled airspace.

AMAAAAAAAAAAAZING.
That was some impressive flying! Did you even notice the deer while you were flying or were you too focused on the plane?
Thanks. I definitely noticed the deer. That was actually why I was flying in that direction to record the deer and see if anyone else would notice it.
nice thermals catch !!!!
Not quite, this is slope soaring, not thermals involved.
