A quick mod for better air flow is to cut off the D shaped bits of leading edge at the fuselage and shape the foam behind it. Where the air inlets in the wings meet the fuselage the rear edge of the hole in the fuse is angled across the fuse disrupting the airflow, I cut the corner off to match the wing air inlet angle. I think this gives 15 - 20% better flow.
Great job John . The new scheme and upgrades look great . I enjoyed the build and am still flying my V2 . I'd like to add that new thrust tube to it , maybe help it out a bit . Fun plane and a aviation icon .
got mine on Pre Order for when it gets here in the UK - I had the V2 version that did have a few design issues - so lets hope these have been fixed....
i had a chance to buy one of the older version of this plane at an action and everyone said to put a carbon fiber rod in each of the booms because they brake very easy
New scheme is cool, but basically paying an extra $40 for it. I have the Canadian version, but rarely fly it because the EDF sounds horrible IMO. I think HK missed some opportunities here. They could have changed the EDF to a 64mm 6S, and upgraded the crappy pull pull nose retract, throw in a few lights . If they raised the price with all that to $250- $ 275 I would absolutely feel it's worth it! It's a cool plane not often modeled.
You don't fly it because of how it sounds? Thats a new one, I like how it sounds. As you can see, it has great performance, and Im impressed with how long a battery lasts for an edf (my next flight vid shows)
@@alanholloway1264 You're wrong, but cool story. Sure it sounds different, but has alot of power and very efficient, I fly off rough fields and the pull pull works flawlessly.

Fun plane and a aviation icon .
It has a ton of power, and is very efficient on batteries, nice job!
My old Canadian has a 3d print thrust tube /nozzle glued to the foam
@@bearsyandwee Awesome . Do you think it helped at all ?
Nice build video John, my thoughts on the 110, stem from the thoughts on the 112. I've always liked the airframe. Good upgrades HobbyKing.
Thanks buddy

Oh, good to know.
Do you know if Durafly is going to release a V3 in the RCAF scheme per the box?
I would assume so, but I have not heard.

@@JohnVHRC it sounds like a vacuum cleaner. The v2 nose pull pull nose steering lasted about 5 minutes. Lost opportunity

With all the gluing... Welcome to 2013...
Its pretty easy, a skill most need to learn!
