Olon is one of Ecuador’s best beach towns, known for its magical vibe and incredible beach! Only 10 minutes from Montanita Ecuador, it’s also one of the more popular tourist destinations in Ecuador for expats and foreigners.
On this tour we stroll along Olon beach, show you different restaurants, and give you an up-close view of daily life in Olon Ecuador.

We got to watch them bringing in the nets when we were in Olon too!! It was such an amazing thing to watch with people of all ages and moms with their children. I can't wait to get back to Ecuador!

Great tour, very helpful for getting a sense of what's available in Olon. Your Spanish seems more than just topically functional. Certainly makes a difference in being friendly, getting around, and getting info.

We ate breakfast at Mil Ojas on 3 June before heading back to Guayaquil. The power had just come back on after the 5.2 earthquake that hit early that morning.
Thom and I are curious what a house on the beach might range. Loved the video. It was cool to see the town.
Hiii❤️ Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video! In terms of larger beachfront home rentals (+3BR) prices vary depending on the season. In low season (jun-nov) prices range from $1000-1500/mo, during high season (dec-may) the range increases to $2000-3000/mo

Another awesome video.. Great touring one of Olon so far. We are heading *fingers crossed* to EC end of March beginning of April for two weeks... Cuenca for one week then Olon for a few days before moving onto our final destination of Santa Marianita before heading back home.. Very nice area you live in.. We hope to find a place like yours some day.. But just maybe not that expensive. Anyways.. how is it for the overall noise there?? I have heard that there are times loud music throughout the night and sometimes for several days.. Is that common or kinda rare? We can't wait to visit.. :) Gracias!!
Awesome, hope you guys find an area you love! In the 5 months we’ve lived in Olón I can think of 3 nights where music could be heard late into the night. One was a wedding, the others were festivals in town. We live close to the center of town and overall the noise has not bothered us, but it may be different during high season. Oloncito or Curia typically have less noise. Best of luck with your travels and happy holidays!
Nice tour. I'm looking for a place with warm nights (for health reasons). I guess in Olón nights are warm for maybe half of the year and then cold for the other half? Also do you get any sun between June and December?

We are planning to move to Ecuador next year, and have been focusing on the Manta area. But Olón looks beautiful. Is the weather really gloomy much of the year, as I have heard elsewhere. Is it easy to get to Guayaquil or Salinas? Do you need a car? TIA. Merry Christmas to your beautiful family! I pray Clare is getting great results from her tests this month🙏
Thank you, Clare is doing wonderful! Olón definitely has two seasons, from Jun thru Nov it is fairly gloomy with clouds and rainy days. Dec thru May you can expect lovely days with plenty of sunshine. Olón is easy to get to from Salinas or Guayaquil as the town resides on the main coastal route (Ruta Spondylus). The town is very walkable and taxis/buses are inexpensive. We don’t own a car and most of our friends don’t either. Wishing you a wonderful holiday!❤️
Do you recall what your rent was at the beach or know what rent costs in town? We are researching places to move down south and wondering what out budget would have to be.

Hi Tyler, we were paying $1500...unfortunately it wasn't available past December. We've found rentals through Inti Luz Properties (online website) and walking around town talking to locals.
You had said the rents go up in the high season. Can you tell me what your rent is currently? Thanks
