Apologies to the windows I blew up with 8:42. It's a error from the editing that I can't replace without re-rendering and uploading the entire video again.
Phantom Forces really does break expectations for what you'd be prepared to find in a Roblox game. At least it did compared to some of the other more popular Roblox games.
I went to download Ironsight because it looked pretty cool, and when making the account I got the message that my email address was already registered. It turns out my childhood self made an account with them before, my old dorky username and everything. Any of you guys remember Gunz and Soldier Front? It's the same publisher as those, those games were my childhood!
This is the sort of thing I love from your videos. You manage to take a tired format - game recommendations - and turn it into an industry analysis/commentary hybrid piece that makes me want to play these games, not just because I want to, but for the significance of their design (or lack thereof). The final game in the list was justified very well, even if it was initially amusing. Also, those game intro title cards were really neat. Really helped to make this video feel special.
Mr. CuHnadian, your editing is hands down the best one in the medium right now. Videogame journalism has never looked this beautiful. The closest to this is NoClip, but they are a team, and you're just the one man. This should be the standard. You're an inspiration to all.
A part of me wants to agree with this effort of editing being the standard, but I'd feel like as if it being the standard would make his effort not stand out. I'm glad that we have so many lazy videos to get tired of, so that we'd have something amazing to unearth and cherish.
Dude your sass at the end sometimes is like a decadent cherry on top of a chocolate shelled cookies and cream sundae brewed at an ice cream shop for $10 that is just big enough that you can share it with friends but not too big that even splitting it makes you feel bloated. You’re awesome
you know what's wild? I loved the club back in the day, but none of my friends were as into it as I was so I eventually stopped playing. I've also been trying to remember what it was even called recently but with no luck. what a crazy coincidence that this video popped up in my recommended
Love your game! I play it on Steam. So satisfying at 144fps! Though I'd like to try it at 240fps someday. That said, the enemy AI is ridiculously hard even with their setting on easy! Rubber banding much?
This is such a fantastic topic when talking about *Hidden Gems* . Things and features you just can not state on the box. It's great that you brought up this topic, man!
What you said during the RedOut part about damage sound when landing the ship, in wipeout, there's always been that kind of sound when landing, like when scratching walls or other ships and it's not confusing at all, and as you said yourself, it feels realistic.
Watching this in 2021, it's dawned on me that a lot of The Club's appeal is shared by the more recent ULTRAKILL. Granted, blitzing through levels as brutally and efficiently as possible isn't ULTRAKILL's ultimate end goal, but almost all of the game's systems heavily encourage it.
I never expected anyone to talk about the club. I had a blast playing it when it came out it has a very specific feel that few games have and I'm glad to see it get some recognition here.
Never in my life have I expected someone to bring up The Club again. Wow. That soundtrack's been a constant presence in my music library for over half a decade. Thanks for shining a spotlight on it.
I miss when games like the club came out. I didn't play it or even really know about it at the time of release, but its a pure example of a time in video games where tech was really improving, but devs were still focusing on gameolay over photorealism or movie level cutscenes
I miss the goldeneye-esque like shooters of the late 90s and early 2000s. Games like Perfect Dark, Timesplitters, 007 Night Fire and of course Goldeneye 007, were accessible, had an arena shooter focus, yet were still fair and not overly competitive. I think a budget titled goldeneye-esque shooter would be able to carve out a small niche for its shelf in today's hyper competitive shooter market.
The beauty of Phantom Forces is its development. This game has been around almost since roblox started to get big (2008-09). Back then it was a barebones game running at the limits of the LUA, peiced together by whatever the roblox devs would add every update. Then came Zoom, except it wasn't like it is now, The scope's crosshair were two actual blocks, not a gui, so the accuracy was shit. Then came custom gui's and that shit was rectified, but your ads sense still couldn't be manipulated yet when zoomed in- This game grew with roblox itself and I think that shits dope. That, coupled with the fact that the guy who created this game was like 12 or 13 at the time and 10 years later its a full fledged mark on the FPS market, even if it is just another roblox studio created game that anyone with the skills of scripting and Cframing could make.
when i first saw footage of Ironsight, i got excited. Call of Duty gameplay from the glory days on PC? for free? sign me up! then i clicked on the referral link, and i was greeted with what i can only describe as eye candy from Korea. confused, i looked around the site, and spotted "Aeria Games", which made me cautious. when they took over Alliance of Valiant Arms from Ijji, they completely destroyed the game by making it P2W and making everything a bad grind. if i remember correctly, they outright disregarded people who had their accounts disabled for no reason. i'm glad that Ironsight is fun. Warface has some competition now.
Why do people hate them? I'm normally not for dlc add ons and so on, but Fortnite is free. It's a gift. If you don't like the fanbase and streamers. Don't pay attention to them.
DrIvanRadosivic I disagree with your evaluation of Fortnite as nothing but a fad. Despite it's initial popularity being a product of the Battle Royale craze, I do think it deserves a bit more credit. Building, double pumps, and other small features have coalesced into an experience which has small entry requirements, but surprisingly skillful endgame.
CrazyWeeMonkey and the fact thats made on DX11 which weird as the game looked like ass and deserved to make on DX9C or DX10/10.1 but i must say the game is good they just need to fix the fact that you can wallbang everybody easily
Ahhhh I remember I bought the club for 50 cents at a local games shop with some friends. We wanted something to play that was split screen. I think I ended up putting it in a blended as joke later that night.
There is a simplicity about how your thumbnails are and just the overall look of your channel in general that I adore for some reason. Keep it up, man.
Ironsight really surprised me. The only big complaint I have of it is its lack of identity. It makes me sad to see such a well crafted game be so boring to look at, despite being fantastic to play.
The editing, the topic, the content, the style, the humour, your voice. Your videos are an absolute pleasure to watch and i prepare myself before watching as I would with a movie or documentary. Thank you for what you do :)
Since you introduced me to all these new games, I feel it would only be fair to also recommend at least one game you most likely haven’t played and might enjoy. Game: Blur Description: Think Mario kart but with more realistic cars. A very fun game that I found by accident. (Also thanks introducing Iron Force, I’ve been looking for a good cod alternative since infinite warfare. Look forward to playing it!)
I think the Orange Box did successfully put its gameplay on the box, though. When I first saw the Orange Box in stores, I already knew Half-Life 2, Episode 1, and Team Fortress Classic. In that case, all the box had to do was list the contents (which it did), and I was sold.
Interesting about The Club. Reminds me a little bit of the Dreamcast-era first/third-person arcade shooter, Outtrigger. I think I'll pick up a copy. Also, as a fan of futuristic racing games, I still need to check out Redout as well. Nice to see something like that make it on this list.
Hey man, I just wanna say I truly appreciate all the work you put in for your video's and it is always a joy to watch/listen to them when they come out. Please keep up the amazing work!
So if I have this right as a description, Ironsight is like CoD designed for PC that is actually supported and not just an afterthought ported over from a console version.
I had heard of Ironsight a little while back and was curious about it, but it being free to play made me a bit hesitant to give it a try. Hearing your thoughts on about it and your overall point in this video actually gave me the push to finally give it a try.
I absolutely loved this video. Many tubers who talk about games don't talk about hidden gems. I wish there were more videos that talked about these games.
It’s refreshing to watch a UA-camr review/critique not the same games as everyone else. Also, it shows your knowledge in this field. As always, quality content, Raycevick!
This is why demos were so important once upon a time. Too many examples of games I would have otherwise ignored were it not for a demo that I was able to try and get hooked on. Sadly (in a way) the opposite is true that demos will expose bad games which devs/pubs don't want scaring away potential customers.
damn it!!! You did it again. I love how you turn a video into a lesson of sorts. you're one of the only people who make me see games from such different perspectives. I love what you do. thank you!!! Keep it up.
i play phantom forces for the meme value and the fact that if you are decent in FPSs in general, you can stomp a server pretty easily. i own other games like tf2 and insurgency and etc, but if i get bored with those i just come back to PF for the laughs. (also my laptop is pure shit, so not many games run well to begin with) oh and im rank 135 btw lmao
Congratulations raycevick on how far you’ve come. You’re videos are so insightful and well written. Keep doing what you’re doing and making amazing content.
So after hearing your thoughts on the club I was curious what you thought of Brink. Personally it's still one of my guilty pleasure games and wish it could get a second life.
I played Brink when it launched. It was a good game severely harmed by terrible bugs and support. I tried to revive it on PC as it's Free, but the port is so broken I wasn't able to.
Other than the orange box video (which I haven't finished yet), this is my first video of yours I've watched and my lord the quality is superb and introduced me to new games and a new way to look at games
This is one of the better gaming channels that I see out there today. Given I'm not one for Lets Plays, channels like BulletBarry have always appealed to me. I had watched your video on the Orange Box before now, and marveled at how well the script was writen and how the wonderful editing. Seeing this video just sealed the deal for me. You do awesome work dude.
This was a fantastic idea for a video, unknown gems that no one would take a second look at, see if you could a series like this maybe once a month or so if your schedule allows
I hate COD but for some reason Ironsight is tolerable, it could be because it was made for PC while every COD after 4/WaW(because it was basically a high budget WW2 mod for 4) was made for consoles.
Great video. The title also works perfectly. I first didn't really understood what was meant by it, but now that I've watched it, I totally understand.
I've wanted a "Burnout shooter" for over 15 years, and I literally forgot that The Club existed, despite following it's development at the time. I wish someone would do something really stylish with the idea someday.
Wow thanks for reminding me of Assault Cube. I totally forgot about Assault Cube, Cube 2 Sauerbraten, and the other Cube 2 games. Just brought back a ton of memories.
Apologies to the windows I blew up with 8:42. It's a error from the editing that I can't replace without re-rendering and uploading the entire video again.
No no, it's about what one expects from that particular kind of footage, it's suitable.
lol it made me jump
my heart skipped a beat lol
It just made me think you were a degenerate. Most of us are used to earrape by now
Raycevick my ears
You must be extremely talented if you can talk about a roblox shooter and have me intrigued the whole way through.
MnM it’s actually really fun dont sleep on it
If you ignore the fact that you're dropshotting a bunch of ten year olds, it's a VERY solid shooter. I enjoyed it a lot.
Phantom Forces really does break expectations for what you'd be prepared to find in a Roblox game. At least it did compared to some of the other more popular Roblox games.
Pyren I would give a like but gotta keep it 420
My opinion is stupid And doesn't matter but you should play Arsenal very fun
Okay but what if the box is also a PSP

Great video as always, Lucas!
I went to download Ironsight because it looked pretty cool, and when making the account I got the message that my email address was already registered. It turns out my childhood self made an account with them before, my old dorky username and everything. Any of you guys remember Gunz and Soldier Front? Dude, same! Did you played Crossfire?
This is the sort of thing I love from your videos. You manage to take a tired format - game recommendations - and turn it into an industry analysis/commentary hybrid piece that makes me want to play these games, not just because I want to, but for the significance of their design (or lack thereof). Agree! 👍
>tfw you genuenely enjoy Phantom Forces like Raycevick
why is this happening, help.
Tenryuu I'm with you dude those 12 year old devs know a thing or two about making guns feel good
pf is done by college students iirc
the StyliS Studios team that made Phantom Forces, are all in their mid 20s
I wrote Phantom Force's guns and backend when I was 18/19. I'm 22 now lol.
Vector Same, fun game that can be downloaded in seconds on almost any library computer.

I don’t think there is a single “realistic” triple AAA shooter. Most people wouldn’t find them fun.
@@thelordofforeheads2839 True. I'm a soldier but when I play cod, i don't want to die with one bullet. I just want to have fun
@@thelordofforeheads2839 and ARMA games are war crime simulator...

Oh... you should watch Ahoy's videos, if you think this is great, Ahoy's on a new level
Ahoy's video on Polybius baffles me with how much effort he's put into it.
WHATS IN THE BOX?!!
THERE'S BLOOD INSIDE THIS BOX
THE BOX IS BLOOD! THE BOX IS JUST BL-

Fookin' laser sights!!! (Siege meme)

Hmm Iron Sight looks pretty nice.
Remus it's great, basically cod but better
Ironsight is the first cod type shooter I have played and liked.
It's not P2W, YET.
Is it on Steam?
They have their own site where you download the client from.
I miss old box art that was actually cool and interesting. Not just the cgi main character holding a weapon
DrIvanRadosivic both have main characters with a weapon in the cover
Cole Kelly doom had fantastic reverse art, shame they had to use that generic cover to make their game marketable
boi argree
boi thankfully doom switch edition used the reverse art as its default cover
Nakeyjakey has a great video on this
Dude your sass at the end sometimes is like a decadent cherry on top of a chocolate shelled cookies and cream sundae brewed at an ice cream shop for $10 that is just big enough that you can share it with friends but not too big that even splitting it makes you feel bloated.
You’re awesome
Holy shit I remember The Club. SEGA published it? That game faded into obscurity faster than a 2009 WoW killer.
you know what's wild? I loved the club back in the day, but none of my friends were as into it as I was so I eventually stopped playing. I've also been trying to remember what it was even called recently but with no luck. what a crazy coincidence that this video popped up in my recommended
Could The Club be a spiritual successor to Sega's own Outtrigger?
But you can sure put Season Passes on the box!

"sound effects are less impactful then Quake" Quake's sound effects are pretty impactful so i don't know if that's much of an insult.
The moment when raycevick uploads is the moment i drop everything i was doing.
MnM
I’m sure most of us here do the same!
Suddenly Roblox appears.
I remember feeling like this when looking at warframe, i thought "Really" another PVP Arena -_-
but I got it early, and I love it.
This is such a fantastic topic when talking about *Hidden Gems* . Things and features you just can not state on the box. It's great that you brought up this topic, man!
I have the sneaking suspicion that Raycevick is Canadian
What you said during the RedOut part about damage sound when landing the ship, in wipeout, there's always been that kind of sound when landing, like when scratching walls or other ships and it's not confusing at all, and as you said yourself, it feels realistic.
Man that NFS Highstakes ost hit me right in the nostalgia bone. Raycevick got some great taste in music for his vids.
Now the premise reminds me of pizza towers mechanic of keeping a combo throughout the whole level
I'm in love with a way out
I never expected anyone to talk about the club. I had a blast playing it when it came out it has a very specific feel that few games have and I'm glad to see it get some recognition here.
new Racyevick and GVMERS in the same weekend? bless up

That soundtrack's been a constant presence in my music library for over half a decade. Thanks for shining a spotlight on it.
its a bit refreshing hearing something good about roblox
Yeah phantom forces still feels better than bfv or codmw

Phantom forces is actually pretty good, except for the Roblox framerate cap of 60fps :(

Thanks for showing me iron sight, shit is amazing. Even had some people in the ingame chat on it mention this video too.
Well shit, I need to go try Ironsight, considering the newest one COD game I played was Black Ops 2.
I'm the same... my last cod was bo2 I pre-ordered that game and was disappointed. though I might try bo4 this year
I never thought I'd find one of my favorite youtubers reviewing my favorite game. Phantom forces.
Ahhhh I remember I bought the club for 50 cents at a local games shop with some friends. We wanted something to play that was split screen. I think I ended up putting it in a blended as joke later that night.
I've always liked The Club, Raycevick.
YOU'RE NOT ALONE!
Its funny how Phantom Forces has more older players then younger, currently playing it right now lol

damn it!!! You did it again. I love how you turn a video into a lesson of sorts. you're one of the only people who make me see games from such different perspectives. I love what you do. thank you!!! Keep it up.
Hey Raycevick, could you possibly consider doing a years later piece on the Bioshock series? love your videos
I can't get over how good you are at editing. Good shit man
i play phantom forces for the meme value and the fact that if you are decent in FPSs in general, you can stomp a server pretty easily. i own other games like tf2 and insurgency and etc, but if i get bored with those i just come back to PF for the laughs.

oh and im rank 135 btw lmao

What about Nintendo Labo? i mean is a box.
Congratulations raycevick on how far you’ve come. You’re videos are so insightful and well written. Keep doing what you’re doing and making amazing content.
NFS music outro?
I love this concept of presenting underrated games. Good work, ray!
