Such a shame to, I figured it would be a BF1 copy n paste but they found a way to ruin it. Not releasing things chronologically, shying away from the historical battles, and doing an overall terrible job of projecting the bloodiest and most costly war in human history. It would've been amazing going through the Ardennes and into France in an operation or campaign. Same for the start of Barbarossa. Epic tank battles for Kursk, or the endless hedge rows of Normandy. All the way to the Rhine and eventually the heart of Berlin. So much could've been done. Battlefield V could've been a golden goose until the next gen had they done it right. But no, they were too worried about glorifying Germany and making the game accessible to women. They could've easily just added the Night Witches and female Russian snipers but that's not PC enough. They tried to change history for the sake of Söderlund not being able to tell his child the truth of the war. Women played an integral part of WW2, just not always in battle. If he wanted to glorify women in war for the sake of his daughter then maybe he should've just made a modern warfare game. That could've had all the glorification of a female character he wanted in it. She could've ramboed the entire Russian and Chinese army for all I care. Just don't mess with what we already know as fact and try to pass it off as sexism or bigotry because we won't accept his fantasy feel good world. I hope he's genuinely learned from his stupidity.
waVe64 then what’s the point of the historical setting? What’s the point Of historical technology? I don’t find super slow vehicles fun but it’s what was the standard in the First World War, I’ll never understand this weird argument that historical accuracy is arbitrarily too strict
Quite honestly, I found this very historically accurate. It also means that with enemies cramped up into a smaller space, they're far more accesible by grenades and AT guns.
I enjoy his critiques and praises of games but this critique I feel is misguided. It’s a ww1 game. Did generals and elites not push hundreds of thousands of men to their deaths in single battles to capture literal meters of territory?
Dope video as always, bro! You definitely can change the outcome of an operation on your own, but more importantly as a squad. There are many times where I've taken a whole point by myself, or snuck in behind enemy lines then had my 5 man squad spawn in on me to attack the objective. There were times where a single enemy plane was able to rack up 60+ kills because he kept bombing us on the objectives. It's not about being able to One-Man-Army the entire team and win the match singlehandedly, but moreso in smaller victories like destroying a tank that's pestering your team, using a horse to flank the enemy snipers to give your frontline infantry some breathing room. Or reviving your teammates, these smaller victories can lead to greater success overall, and that's what makes the multiplayer feel so rewarding, as there are opportunites for every class and vehicle to make an impact on the outcome of the match. As far as campaign goes, they definitely should've made the War Stories longer, would've given players more time to empathize and more time to flesh out the unique perspectives of WWI. For me, I was able to have fun with the campaign just because of the setting & time period, it's not an innovative or even original type of gameplay, but the setting of WWI is what makes it interesting to me personally. Good shit, dude. Keep it up!
Same, I found the good vs evil trope to be particularly strange in the final campaign. I don't think a WWI story should be reminding me of Avatar and Dances with Wolves.
This game had the potential to send a really powerful message that could make it incredibly memorable but instead it feels like one guy wanted to make a good story and moral and everyone else wanted a copy paste god shooter (i.e. easy money). Another missed opportunity is an online "trench mode" or something that would be try to be 100% realistic with you defending trenches and slowly moving up the battlefield. No hud or healing as well. I think that would've been pretty cool.
Thank you for pointing out the issues of poor AI work & the "superhero" gameplay trope. There's a reason why people gravitated to games such as Dark Souls, as cliche as it sounds. Human beings need to be challenged. It's fine to turn your brain off every so often but in a game about war, I need my enemies to be as good or better. Whether it's strategically or simply in weaponry. I need my victory to be earned, not given. Another excellent video man.
The common denominator is what AAA games strive for. Its the masses they want to please, thats why indie and B games are the only ones doing different things and not just going the safe route.
Core Ideas You summed up how I feel about Battlefield 1 exactly. I love the game and it's fun to turn my brain off and dump lead into Germans for 2-3 hours but after that I feel like I'm not being challenged and I burn out. 90% of deaths in BF1 I feel like I could have avoided had I not made a simple mistake which would have never happened if I was seriously in try hard mode. BF1 is just a fun console couch game, but after a while I feel the urge to play something more challenging and rewarding like Rainbow Six Siege or Overwatch
I truly love how I come to a video of yours and learn about the history of these games, not just a review of them. I thank you so much for that as it is a nice touch to not only be entertained, but learn about all these different backgrounds of games. This is why I will always support this kind of content as it is not just a game review, but feels like a history lesson that could be archived for others to learn from. I know I do not provide much criticism, as an engineer seeing all these types of videos seem so well made that I do not know how to point out any flaws in editing, writing, or well anything lol Hopefully with enough comparison of other content I can bring some criticism that can help you become better instead of me always just saying how awesome the videos are lol I do have to say though that your latest videos have had some really good background music that fit the narrative of the video so well that I would love to keep seeing /hearing that. oh before I forget, about the question channel on discord.... I do apologize.... but its only going to get worse! lol
no shooter will ever match the feeling i had when i first played planetside 2 and saw a column of tanks heading out from the base with hundreds of people yomping along with them.
highlandrab19 I actually still play planetside, the game is going down fast sadly and the devs don't seem to care as much, you can still see massive tank columns and air raids rather frequently though
I went back a while ago and was playing on esamir but for some reason the game kept trying to deploy me to hossin? anyway esamir was empty so i went to hossin and found a a mess of trees and impassable terrain that was nearly empty. the whole time i had just wanted to play on indar to try and recapture those feels but for some reason that continent was locked
The way you make your videos... even tho it's about a game your videos tell a story of its own while telling the games story. The photos you show correlate with what you're saying but tell a story. And the way you talk also correlates with what the mood should be. You are an impeccable UA-camr.
Brit'N'Birb In the deserts, and jungles, and some scenarios like trench takeovers, or the Drachenhohle we're very intense and fast paced, not all of it was slow trench fighting smh.
Brit'N'Birb to be fair the walking stopped pretty early on and during the mid to later portions of the war (when this game takes place) people were either sneaking or running towards the other trenches.
should have been a WW2 game?? Im sorry but Im kinda sick of seeing the same Garand, STG and Mp-40. seeing weapons like the Lewis Gun, Trench Clubs and all the experimental Pre-War Weapons was a breath of fresh air. WW2 is done to death. leave that to Wolfenstein and the old Battlefields.
I love this game for all of the chaos, and the charging when the next 2 points opens on operations. All of the whistles, the yelling and the gunning down of 64 people... it makes it feel so nice.
I feel like one of those bitter old men who see all the new technology and decide instead to go back to the classic ways of the 70's or 80's. Except the new tech is BF1 and the classic ways are BF3 and BF4
I actually think BF4 (in its current state), is a better, more balanced, and content rich game, than BF1. I found the campaign of BF1 to be a joke, and the mp didn't hold my interest for as long as BF4 did.
Well I mean battlefield 4 is out for so long that it got mostly balanced out and alle the dlc dropped, just wait till bf1 is finished and all the people will say good things about bf1 when the next Battlefield game releases.
MrReyno Tanks I total agree but bf4 has fully matured. I find current bf4 more enjoyable than current bf1. We still have to wait for bf1 to mature as well although, I feel that bf4 will still feel better than a fully matured bf1
15:28 You are so true. As a Turkish person I must say in The Runner and Nothing is Written Ottoman army is not that weak. We fucking hold the Biritish Army in Gallipoli
We were neck and neck with the enemy in fao fortress. This was operations and the final point to take was obj E inside the fortress. I new that we were going to lose if that obj was not cleared quick. We had a min left and I immediately was able to spawn into st chamond tank. I rushed it into obj and immediately called a airstrike. As 30 secounds counted down I saw almost all the enemy’s die around me in a hail of my artillery strike. I died, but as I zoomed out I saw tons of my teammates that were at a stand still rush into the obj and take it over while the clock was at 10 sec. one of my favorite memories playing ANY multiplayer games. I have so many more.
The mood that truely made BF1 was Frontlines before the update. You could play one map for hours. Pushing and falling back numerous times with no time limit. I miss those days
Bad Company 2 - "Oh hey there's a tank, but I set up C4 around all the point entrances so it shouldn't be a problem." Battlefield 1 - "HOLY SHIT THAT'S A FUCKING INFANTRY VEHICLE RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!"
You made smile when you brought up F.E.A.R.. I miss that game so much. The first and second parts were the only good ones but it was so good. The story had me going and the action and sense of need to survive was beautiful.
Great video but I disagree with only one thing. Your constant agenda of "Battlefield was close to dying"... Bruh I don't think you understand what "dying" actually means. Sure, Battlefield 4 sold less than Battlefield 3 but it still sold over 15 million copies over all platforms and still sold 5 million Premium Passes. Not to mention Battlefield 4 was the most played FPS on the market behind CSGO, Overwatch and BO3. And that was 2 years after it's launch. I mean if you call that dying I really don't know what to say to you. Just like COD and CS, this is one of those franchises that it's just very very very hard to die. It's the same as the people thinking that COD was dead with Infinite Warfare. As much as I dislike COD for the countless of terrible things it did... it was the most idiotic thing ever to push the agenda that COD was dying. Selling less copies but still MILLIONS is not dying. By any means. Let alone when you sell 15 million copies lol. Other than that glad you enjoy the game and that you finally gave it a shot.
Jove89 I think he meant dying in terms of reputation, which it was. Similar to how CoD is now. That sells better then any game on the market, despite being the butt of every joke.
In my research I never came across a post that confirmed 15 million copies sold for BF4. The number I kept running into was 7 million, less than half of BF3's 15 million. With Hardline's multiplayer dying within months of being released (at least on PC), the series was quickly on its course to going under. A game can sell MILLIONS and still be considered a failure if the franchise is not living up to the publishers expectations, which 4 & Hardline according to the data I saw, was not. But I'm all for being corrected if this information is wrong.
raycevick, talk about the cod zombies series. I know it's technically a game mode of the more large and toxic cod, but treyarch has really created something truly amazing that has not gotten enough of the love it deserved because people don't enjoy cod and overlook it's intricacies. I saw your comment on Jr.Rizzos video, so I do know you played black ops 1 at least, but with the sheer detail, amount of things to do and story, it's worth getting into as an outsider
Jmplaza 21 The story was pretty good in Waw and Bo1. Bo2 made it confusing and Bo3 was clearly running out of ideas considering all these important characters are just now being introduced into a story that's basically over. But at least we got the full timeline
BF1 is absolutely one of the best multiplayer games I've ever played. The gameplay, visuals, soundtrack, voice acting always left me wanting more. I bought it for the low low price of 3 dollars. I put some sweet 300 to 400 hours of playtime in the game. It was really a journey, at first the semi auto and bolt action weapons weirded me out a bit, then I realized it wasnt all that different to how TF2 handled its weapons and I embraced the limitation they provided. Bolt action rifles grew on me, I spent more hours on the scout class PTFOing with the Gewehr 98 Infantry and the C93 Pistole than doing it with the class that had the actual automatic weapons. I was so hungry for more weapons, maps and playstyles I bought the DLC for the full price, when that ran out, I've tried out the other classes, like the cavalry and vehicle roles, I kind of became a jack of all trades master none. I became a gun nut too, the codex feature was engaging and reading the actual history and mechanics of the weapons just got me more interested in them and the context of them and the battles they were used in. I really liked the entire experience, unfortunately I started playing at a time where the servers were emptying out and players gravitated towards the two big main modes, I got to play every map multiple times though, and I enjoyed every minute of it. PS. For some reason, one thing that always comes to mind when BF1 is brought up is the German faction. The Germans were easily the best looking faction in the game, the African snipers were just incredibly cool with the trenchcoats and helmuts. The German voice actors also were the most over the top in the game, screaming their lungs out with each call for medic or ammo.
I disagree with your point about bf4's unlock system. After putting 200+ hours into bf4 I still had weapons to unlock, and it gave me a reason to keep coming back to the game, whereas in bf1 I have put 40 hours into the game and have already unlocked all but 3 guns in the game. Every weapon in bf1 feels samey, and not rewarding. The weapon diversity in bf4 was one of its strong points in my opinion, because at the end of the games life, dice managed to balance most of them, and most people use different weapons, instead of the hellriegel being the best sniper, shotgun, assault weapon, LMG, and everything else.
There's a middle ground that I think Bad Company and BF3 hit closer to. BF4 is bloated as fuck with unnecessary guns, while BF1 has a pathetic selection and a dumb "variant" system.
I partly agree with your monte grappa bunker objective opinions but attacking them felt so realistic as you kept pressing and waiting for that one opening, that one loop to make the most satisfying of successes while defending them was amazing as you never got a down time and had to always be defending against wave after wave I personally liked it also, your like the cinema sins but for video games
Battlefield hardline could have really stuck out of the crowd if perhaps they took the Cops and Robbers concept and ran with it completely instead of half assing it. They removed tanks and attack helicopters, but kept the high-tech IRNV FLIR MLG KFC sights and ubiquity of hand grenades which doesn’t make sense. They perhaps could have removed long guns such as assault rifles or shotguns and instead made your primary gun a hand-gun, likely making up for it findable weapons like BF4 but more common and grabbable by multiple people. Also, adding the arrest system to multiplayer would be pretty neat. One of your gadgets could be handcuffs that could “finish off” revivable enemies and be a quicker melee animation and both would provide extra points or maybe unlock certain things. Obviously I’m not providing many suggestions to fix it, but that’s the job of the multi billion dollar game companies who sell numerous micro-transactions and then smuggle an incredible amount of money in to offshore tax havens.
I never did understand what's so fun about overwatch... I've always seen it as an arcade shooter, and the only arcade shooter I would play is halo 5, because I can build my own maps.
THE POWWWERRR Haha, how can you not understand it, or the appeal? It's similar to Team Fortress. Haven't you played that game? Characters, that are class-based, have different weapons and abilities and basically the battlefield turns into a royal rumble of everyones different character choices and skill levels playing out. It's a blast.
It's just not my favorite game. It's ok (for me) just not my favorite. I'm more into games like mechwarrior: online, if we're being futuristic, and warthunder is a close second, being WWII. Mechwarrior: online, I recommend, unless you don't like operating a giant robot.
I love this game, the fort on Monte Grappa was difficult to take but I enjoyed it, it was an intense realistic battle. Trying to burn out the defenders with gas, grenades, and gunfire was super fun to me.
great game and good review... sound and graphics were a notch up to what had come before for an FPs game. The gunplay is so satisfying. I still play it. I would love you to do one on BF5 ...that would be interesting to watch/hear.
The end for friends in high places was fantastic, I don't know what you are talking about, and The Runner actually made me care about the main character.
this is your first play through, trust me the lack of depth becomes apparent, yes the game is the best looking and the physics are amazing and it did put COD to shame, however i still turn back to BF4
fan9775 the canals map (I forgot its name) is the worst conquest map in my opinion since if you spawn on the ship, you can’t leave because there’s always an enemy helicopter flying around killing anybody that tries to leave
BF3 for life! Crappy terrain collision, crappy vehicle hitboxes, beyond buggy physics, horrible resolution and igla/stringer garbage aside, I still play it to this day.
Go to say that this is the first time I have disagreed with one of your videos. I think BF1 is awful for multiplayer, I will go ahead and say that I am a hardcore BF player and loved what BF4 became, in almost every way that matters BF1 feels less refined, less balanced and less fun to play. Yes technical presentation wise it is effectively without peers IMO but multiplayer isn't fun. And this is someone who agrees with most of your gripes about BF4. I have something like 20 hours total playing BF1 which for a game in my favourite series that I was hyped about is essentially an abject failure. I've put more time into BF4 since BF1 launched by a factor of 2. The same can be said for Overwatch and CSGO of the games I already owned. Hell I've even put nearly triple the time into Titanfall 2 which was a game I only purchased due to its reception post launch and BF1 just not doing it at all for me. Still a good analysis and good video, just not one I agree with which was always going to happen at some point. And hell maybe I'll go back and look at the game with fresh eyes as if you see something in it then maybe its worthy of my renewed attention.
Milaniac Just because he rarely uploads doesnt mean he puts more time into his videos, and could just be a case of him being busy. Also, I dont watch either of these youtubers because of their voices
Did I play the same game as u, The multiplayer is in my opinion worst than BF4 and ect, the tanks can be destroyed in a matter of seconds because 90% of players have the rocket gun, if your playing medic, players will skip back to the respawn screen as you get to them, and don't get me started with the the average weapon you will see in the game, in BF4 there was a large amount of weapons that u can pick and customise but in BF1, most players run around with the Hellriger
I love this game, for a reason you labeled a negative. The 'mean-grinder' aspect bring World War 1 to life, which is excellent from a history standpoint, and some can still find enjoyment in meat-grinder gameplay
bf1 was always about the multiplayer experience, man. the sg has only 5-6 h of content, whereas the mp can have up to a few thousands. this ratio only is enough reason for my assumption. nice video, though!
They aren’t really comparable, CoD and Battlefield are normal shooters, but Titanfall 2 is a movement shooter. Extremely fast paced gameplay and with giant mechs. There’s a big difference from Titanfall to CoD IW.
"I don't wanna live no moe, sometimes I hear death knocking at my door, living everday like I hustle, another drug to juggle, another day another struggle"...
Raycevick, I can't say I agree with how positive this review was with regards to the multiplayer. With regards to the weapons, I understand that the previous titles can feel bloated with unlocks but the truth is that they expand the sandbox for one thing, and they give players something to chase after which tries to keep this extremely repetitive game from getting stale, I don't see how that's negative. As it is in BF1, the smaller weapon pool seems as if there are 'correct' choices as to the best weapons, and the lack of attachments and horrendous UI make it discouraging to try to experiment with different weapons. I have put many hours into the game and I still just use the starting guns for the most part. And your comment about this games movement seemed a bit odd as well. While I agree that battlefield's movement is much more liberating than any generic 'realistic' shooter crap, it is extremely buggy and calling it "perfection" while games like Titanfall, Halo, Doom, or Destiny exist is pretty funny (and yes obviously I understand the genre and gameplay restrictions at play here). And as a side note, the soundrack is pretty bland, never been a strongpoint for battlefield games I know, but it grates me every time I boot up the game. In addition, I don't see what the setting of WWI really adds to the game other than simply being a novel idea for the sake of novelty. The same types of weapons, map designs, and gameplay tropes appear despite many not making any sense in the time period, and what isn't carried over from the old games is simply lost, such as the team play found with helicopters, and added verticality to maps. I somewhat agree with the argument that gameplay should take precedent over historical accuracy, but it reaches a point when I find myself questioning what the shift in setting adds at all. Again, novelty for the sake of novelty and marketing I suppose. Some of the other problems I have will all battlefield games, such as the lack f consequence for death and lack of real impact on the outcome of games, feel exacerbated in this installment for some reason. Overall, I can't shake the feeling that this game just bores me, especially once the initial awe of the grande spectacle wears off. Perhaps its me outgrowing the genre of 'realistic' shooters, but I honestly regret spending $60 dollars on this game.
This. I just reached 140 in BF4 and found a gun I HAVEN'T USED AT ALL, so I'm going to use it, unlock the stuff for it and keep playing. (not that I wouldn't anyways) he says feature creep, and maybe that true, but I say content and variety. Note: I have over 1000 hours in the game.
Uh... what? I simply didn't have the opportunity or time to respond. I try to reply to as many I can, but there is a 1000+ comments. I can never guarantee a response, but everything is read.
Bf is not dying anytime soon. They always push the envelope, and have a very dedicated playerbase that loves everything about bf. The graphics, animation, realism, and variation of the games makes me a lifetime fan.
Something I like to do in the bf1 single player is in the first tank mission there is a part that u have to get out of the tank to repair it. The game wants you to get back in but you don't have to. You can get in any time. It's really fun to take part in a massive assault alongside other soldiers. Unfortunately you have to be in the tank to cross the bridge so u might have to run across the map but just being another soldier on the ground is a very fun experience
I only played the campaign of this and good grief. I still remember to this day long stretches of cod 2's campaign, even on normal that game had me absolutely paranoid because I felt in danger the whole bloody time. This though... My god. The Italian charge against the Krauts was one of the few moments in my gaming life where I just put down the controller and put my hands under my chin muttering "... Why".
Battlefield 1 could have been so good but the cons for me were: -Lack of maps on release (9 isn't good enough especially when considering lack of weapons) -Inclusion of experimental and unused weapons for that era. (MP-18 rarely used irl but almost everyone has one in game) -Lack of trench warfare on a WW1 game... -Lack or no character customisation despite it being in other Dice titles such as Battlefront. -Just feels like a WW2 game with inclusion of automatic and semi automatic weapons, quick tanks and type of maps. -Lack of accuracy on soldier skins. -Too much political correctness in inclusion of black characters despite being rare to non existent on the western front. -Stupid variants of weapons just to make up for lack of weapons in the first place. Get rid of scopes (rare in WW1) and replace with iron sights. -Inclusion of factions without their own standard issue rifle (Italian and US rifles) -Campaign really poor depiction of WW1
Vermivorous the Invincible What are you on about? Very few scopes were used in WW1. Rifles were used with iron sights. Sick of people on here with no idea what happened in WW1
"-Lack of trench warfare on a WW1 game... " They even had a chance to make it an entire game-mode. There's also the parachute issue the game has. Flying a plane at all should be a death sentence if you get shot-down.
The 5000 number isn't confirmed they could've but up to the tens of thousands however the gun was almost exclusively used by stormtroopers and wasn't used by the average German soldier.
I don’t play bf1 for realism I play it for the addicting levelution mechanics. I love blowing up buildings that the enemy is holding out in or firing a rocket gun at a machine gun nest that’s been giving our team hell throughout the entire game. But if you don’t like that sort of thing that’s fine it’s your opinion and I can’t change that.
That and look at the map design, even in bfv if you go look at narvik on google maps today, you’ll see how that map fits into the irl location, or Rotterdam, everything is made to be a perfect replica of the real life location, it’s the attention to detail that sets dice apart from the rest, a lot of bf1 maps are like that too.
I like the campers against the bull rushers aspect, it was kinda cool to have to constantly push to a single point which meant absolute chaos, thus equalling fun
Do you have a pollen allergy? A lot of Canadians (like me) are allergic to pollen. Edit: I am aware it is common in other parts of the world I was just pointing out that a lot of people I know here do.
Yes I am aware of that I was just pointing out a fair amount of people in Canada have it. But I suppose I could've made that more clear. Edit: I never said it was exclusive to Canada.
I disagree with a lot of what you are saying. BF1 is a fantastic game that the market needed desperately. It's only flaw is the lack of content/delays in-between each DLC's
Tinfoilpain just buy it if u like to have a fun game man the game fun af I like it Bc of it setting in ww1 but if u only like it for competitive or sum try rainbow six siege
On the section before that with the three towns I found a glitch where you can draw the enemies out of the town, getting to your objective without even killing them. It was both hilarious and depressing.
And Battlefield V is like realising that that light at he end of a tunnel is actually train heading your way at full speed
Such a shame to, I figured it would be a BF1 copy n paste but they found a way to ruin it. Should have add Japanese campaign to show how bad they did in the Pacific.
i disagree. for all its faults i think it adds a lot of good changes to the multiplayer. the gunplay is excellent.
"Campers vs Bullrushers" no I'm pretty sure they nailed WW1 with that aspect

Well, historical accuracy doesn't equal fun gameplay.
And at that point you have to ask if WW1 was fun.

Keep it up!

I wish the prologue for this game would switch between the two sides instead of just sticking with the "good guys".
Yeah like in WW2 they were really bad guys but in WW1 they were just fighting like Russia our Britain
Well the Germans once did massacre a whole small village a few hundred Belgium kids and women. This was in WW1.
and the British specifically fire bombed hundreds of thousands of German women and children with glee in WW2. Your point? @@articcenturion8387

Core Ideas And whose fault is it if the enemy team sucks?
The devs for not programming decent AI.
SHRED: Setting isnt the prevalent matter at hand, Im speaking about tone, feeling, gameplay. It can be any setting its still the same safe play.
I miss this game. Especially the dlc, they had some of the best maps and at least this felt like a war..

highlandrab19 Too bad that game just devolves into massive spawn rapes.
highlandrab19 I actually still play planetside, the game is going down fast sadly and the devs don't seem to care as much, you can still see massive tank columns and air raids rather frequently though

"To bring a toy soilder set to life." Man, that was good.
So they made Battlefield 1 fast paced but set in a war where people were told to walk, not run and to stand in trenches all day?
Should've been a WWII game. It feels like one, but in an out-of-place setting
Brit'N'Birb they chose fun over realism in which i agree
should have been a WW2 game?? Im sorry but Im kinda sick of seeing the same Garand, STG and Mp-40. seeing weapons like the Lewis Gun, Trench Clubs and all the experimental Pre-War Weapons was a breath of fresh air. WW2 is done to death. leave that to Wolfenstein and the old Battlefields.

I feel like one of those bitter old men who see all the new technology and decide instead to go back to the classic ways of the 70's or 80's. Except the new tech is BF1 and the classic ways are BF3 and BF4
For me the good old days is BC2.
I loved "Through mud and blood" I'd have a whole game dedicated to play that tank crew.
I actually think BF4 (in its current state), is a better, more balanced, and content rich game, than BF1. I found the campaign of BF1 to be a joke, and the mp didn't hold my interest for as long as BF4 did.
Yes I agree the bf1 multiplayer is fun at first but gets old very fast.
Well I mean battlefield 4 is out for so long that it got mostly balanced out and alle the dlc dropped, just wait till bf1 is finished and all the people will say good things about bf1 when the next Battlefield game releases.
***** I found BF4 campaign to a be joke also. However, in BF4, Dice didn't recycle conquest maps for missions.
Jmplaza 21 Battlefield 1, to me feels dumbed down compared to BF4.
MrReyno Tanks I total agree but bf4 has fully matured. I find current bf4 more enjoyable than current bf1. We still have to wait for bf1 to mature as well although, I feel that bf4 will still feel better than a fully matured bf1

There's so many great and epic things that happen like that in BF1! Such a damn good game!

The mood that truely made BF1 was Frontlines before the update. You could play one map for hours. Pushing and falling back numerous times with no time limit. I miss those days
If I had a dollar for every time you mention Metal Gear Solid.
Bad Company 2 - "Oh hey there's a tank, but I set up C4 around all the point entrances so it shouldn't be a problem."

To everyone who didn't enjoy BF1: Try Titanfall 2. We've got a big patch dropping on May 30, we'll probs have a free weekend as well.

No i played the beta and bought the full game and im really good at it...

I remember the AEK-971 spam. I once had a match where every players was literally using the gun! Talk about weapon diversity.

One of my favorite moments from the campaign are the missions where you have to stealth through a town controlled by Germans.

Indeed, BF4 has alot more depth and interesting gameplay compared to BF1, it looks and plays nice but i got bored of it after 50 hours.

All of these large-scale games need some kind of A.I. director to issue orders and an incentive to follow orders; unlocks, xp, etc.
I honestly love those moments in battlefield when the entire team is trying to breach an objective but they keep losing, that chaos is just so fun
bf1 was always about the multiplayer experience, man. the sg has only 5-6 h of content, whereas the mp can have up to a few thousands. this ratio only is enough reason for my assumption. nice video, though!

"I don't wanna live no moe, sometimes I hear death knocking at my door, living everday like I hustle, another drug to juggle, another day another struggle"...
Raycevick,
I can't say I agree with how positive this review was with regards to the multiplayer.

Why".
Battlefield 1 could have been so good but the cons for me were:
-Lack of maps on release (9 isn't good enough especially when considering lack of weapons)
-Inclusion of experimental and unused weapons for that era. (MP-18 rarely used irl but almost everyone has one in game)
-Lack of trench warfare on a WW1 game...
-Inclusion of factions without their own standard issue rifle (Italian and US rifles)
-Campaign really poor depiction of WW1
Vermivorous the Invincible What are you on about? Very few scopes were used in WW1. Rifles were used with iron sights. Sick of people on here with no idea what happened in WW1
"-Lack of trench warfare on a WW1 game... " They even had a chance to make it an entire game-mode.
There's also the parachute issue the game has. Flying a plane at all should be a death sentence if you get shot-down.
Cade Whaley of my research serves me correctly only 5000 models saw action.
The 5000 number isn't confirmed they could've but up to the tens of thousands however the gun was almost exclusively used by stormtroopers and wasn't used by the average German soldier.
so your mad that dice is valuing game mechanics over accuracy
lol 4:34 chat box
The chat box is the lowkey MVP of this video lmao
I just hate those who claim that BF is realistic lol
I don't think many people do.
It’s way more realistic than cod so that’s why people say it lol
That and look at the map design, even in bfv if you go look at narvik on google maps today, you’ll see how that map fits into the irl location, or Rotterdam, everything is made to be a perfect replica of the real life location, it’s the attention to detail that sets dice apart from the rest, a lot of bf1 maps are like that too.
Amazing video as always. Thanks.
I like the campers against the bull rushers aspect, it was kinda cool to have to constantly push to a single point which meant absolute chaos, thus equalling fun
Battlefield 1 was a step in the right direction
Battlefield V was a jump off a cliff
A lot of youtubers perfer battlefield 4 or 3
Do you have a pollen allergy? A lot of Canadians (like me) are allergic to pollen.
Edit: I am aware it is common in other parts of the world I was just pointing out that a lot of people I know here do.
Razor Prime hes canadian
I know. I am wondering if he like many Canadians have that allergy.
A lot of people have pollen allergies all over the world. I don't think its specific to Canada.
Yes I am aware of that I was just pointing out a fair amount of people in Canada have it. But I suppose I could've made that more clear.
Edit: I never said it was exclusive to Canada.
wtf
This is such a high quality review, never seen anything like this before. I agree with you on all the points.
I really love this guy. You do extremely good reviews man. Keep it up.
I disagree with a lot of what you are saying. BF1 is a fantastic game that the market needed desperately. It's only flaw is the lack of content/delays in-between each DLC's
the intro missions are so deceiving its so good but the rest are just....not
As someone with an unbiased opinion everything Ray is saying seems to make sense
I love choke points on maps, not becuase of the chaos (well some) but you can relax and take a break while your team does the work.
You're content quality is awesome!
I could pay you just to make you narrate my life.
But I don't have a life.
Or money.
Fuck, I'm gonna go buy it now. Y u do dis to me?
Tinfoilpain go for it new dlc soon
Tinfoilpain you're going to regret that purchase in about a week
Tinfoilpain just buy it if u like to have a fun game man the game fun af I like it Bc of it setting in ww1 but if u only like it for competitive or sum try rainbow six siege
Sorry boys I'm gonna buy it because I do like to just have some fun time to time
Battlefield 1 was pretty bad. This guy gave it way too much credit.
The majority disagrees, which is the point. You are in the minority.
On the section before that with the three towns I found a glitch where you can draw the enemies out of the town, getting to your objective without even killing them. It was both hilarious and depressing.
It's an undeniably gorgeous game. This is a relief having gone from bf3 to preordering bf4.
