Is nobody going to talk about the cameraman leading Steve to the dressing room? Walking backwards upstairs and nailing each corner like an F1 driver, blind, while framing the shot perfectly? Needs an award.
@@storyoptics4964 LOL, I'm in the industry. They're not using some big shoulder mounted camera like they had to do back in the day. One day you'll learn... maybe.
There's probably someone navigating for the cameraman, as you can see in many sports events when the cameraman gets close-up shots of each athlete before/after the match.
I agree with you. This is very on brand and very funny. Where it dies... is its existence a youtube clip. This doesn't belong here. Ultimately this is a trash clip.
Yep I agree with you, I would of loved to see them do that, but I also agree with the other person that your avatar made me think I had a hair or a crack in my screen. It's pretty good.
I love both of these men so much. Yesterday was Steve Martin's birthday. I cannot believe he is 75. Not possible. I am 57. When I was in high school, I owned all of his albums and can still do every word on them from memory. So, so good. And Conan sometimes makes me laugh by not even doing anything. Both men are brilliant and talented and have brought me great joy on many occasions. : )

I've come to the conclusion that Steve Martin will never age beyond the appearance of man who just turned 49. He's just going to look that way the rest of his life.
Steve Martin is an accomplished banjo player and appears playing the instrument in Earl Scruggs and Friends video for "Foggy Mountain Breakdown," for which he won a Grammy for Best Country Instrumental Performance. This makes him rare in that he has won Grammies for both comedy and music.

I know this was probably rehearsed but after Steve Martin came back the first time, I wish Conan had just looked at him and said "you could've just said no." 😂
Ive been aware that steve martin is actually one of the greatest banjo players alive for an hour now, but im guessing that he probably hates this song. Dude has multiple grammys, and hes asked to play what is essentially a meme song from the 70s whenever he gets the biggest audience because its the only banjo song everyone knows.

Guess what? He can actually turn his head to see where he's walking and it's not hard to keep someone in frame when you already know the route. LOL
@@DWish808 Walking backwards with a big camera while keeping the subject in frame and making quick corners at a high speed is not easy my friend.

Simple comedy is sometimes the hardest to create, and we all just witnessed one of the legends
All three are legends
I found none of it to be particularly funny. Even legends get old and lose their touch.
@@jonathanfelso It's funny because it' silly. Shouldn't have to be explained.

I kinda wanted to see them actually play Dueling Banjos

When Steve Martin smiles he somehow looks like Harrison Ford
Thought i was the only one lol
i thought the same!
Eww no
. That doesn't work, as Steve Martin has looked the same for the last 100 years and Harrison Ford has done a lot of changing.
I see it too😅
Getting to watch this segment live was everything.
I still want them to play the whole song together!
This is a glorious bit. Never seen it before. What a joy.

Steep Canyon Rangers were up against Billy Strings for best Bluegrass Grammy this year..... BMFS won.
You made me laugh, you made me listen, and your banjo playing has entertained me for the last 20 years. Thanks, Steve.
That banjo looks amazing on him. Such a beautiful instrument.
That Bob Newhartesk Conan stare gets me every time!
Would have been hilarious if Steve stopped to sign autographs for a tourist family on his second trip to his dressing room.
😂
The arm of the chair makes Steve look like he has three legs
I don't have a mind to mind about minding these two guys minding about their performance. 😂😂
Thanks for bringing joy to the world Steve. 🌸
That's such a long way to go for a very good bit.
Agree. I watched thinking: the wrong facial expression at any time would harm the bit. Perfect expression at all times.
Props to the cameraman 👏🏻
I honestly expected Steve to just walk off set and never come back. That would have been hilarious.
I miss this guy in movies. Love "Father or the bride". Such a good and funny guy. Also loved "The three amigos" and much more movies of him
He created and is starring in that new Murder in the Building show or something and apparently people love it.
Trains planes and Automobiles!
HAHAHHAA “you kick it off” *conan plays the first one* “my banjos in the dressing room” *walks away
I love Steve Martin man!!😂😂
The main character energy is electrifying
Steve Martin doesn't look like he has aged at all! Yes, I know this is from 2011... still pretty damn impressive.

Conan casually whipping out a $6,000+ guitar.
I was not expecting a custom Collings.

No one has heard of Author Smith or cares. The whole world has heard of Steve Martin. That is the difference.
Steve Martin never get's old. Literally
He’s been looking the same for the last 50 years.
Always handsome, since he was….old? 🤔
Omg yes the content we’ve waited for
Nobody bits like Steve Martin bits.
Steve Martin looked the same age in 1975.
the joke is so nailed it it could be in a zucker and zucker movie
Steve Martin looks absolutely phenomenal for being over 70 years old 🤯
That's because he was 66 yo in this clip (from 2011). But you're absolutely right about how well he's aged, like a fine wine. :D
this is the difference between comedy and comic genius; AND they are both talented musicians.
A stage of geniuses.
This heaven. I adore them both, Conan and Steve! And I play guitar and banjo, so this awesome:)))
