I did bedside nursing for many years. I now work in preop and get patients ready for the OR. No weekends, holidays or call! I love it! I also love your videos!
I'm a nurse recruiter and I absolutely love all of your videos. Not only are you hilarious, but you're really informative too!! Love it - keep it up!! Nurses need more resources to learn more about the field of healthcare before they jump into it feet first!
I've never worked in trauma (though trauma is relative to any number of things that can happen in any form of bedside nursing!), but before I was a nurse I did medical transcription, and one of my clients was a university shock trauma center and they were some of the most intense, dramatic reports I ever typed! Some of the saddest reports were for a children's hospital and the most interesting were for a psychiatric hospital. The transcription experience actually helped me a good bit in nursing school. The terminology was already familiar.
I think I want PICU. Not NICU but PICU. Our children's hospital is one of the best in the nation. Lucky for me my local crna school takes PICU experience
I would love to work in the NICU. Both my daughters were in the NICU. One was born five weeks early and one was having problems with gaining weight. I want to pay back/pay forward. I feel like I could relate to the parents and love to take care of the patients... or PAC unit. My youngest daughter was admitted into the PAC.
You should come up here to Minnesota during the winter. It gets down to -20 or -30 degrees. I was also considering on being a medic in the US Army. Any tips?
Actually yes. I’m a RN and also former Army medic. DO NOT join the Army. They don’t give a damn about you. If you want to do that type of job; join the Navy and go for corpsman. If you get to be an independent duty corpsman; you will be able to sit for the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam after just a few basic college courses. Also, the Navy will treat you better and you will learn more things as a corpsman.
I have over 1 years LPN experience long term care and 1 year RN home health care experience, but no inpatient experience. Do you recommend I start in a Hospital Residency Program or as a regular Clinical Nurse? Please advise. Thank you

Can LVNs work in this? I imagine yes. I hate bed side.
228 days left to my finals!! (then the big final - NCLEX - in July) I'm a student nurse in one of the large teaching hospitals in the Tampa Bay area.
