Yo people! Hope you find the video helpful, and sincere apologies about that outrageous clickbait (telling you I was only going to give you 5 rules then actually including 6). Plz 5giv me xxx
Joe, it's pretty clear that your videos are first and foremost meant to help people, which is in sharp contrast to many other channels, where the focus is getting that sweet ad revenue - pumping out video after video, with ever more useless tips that no one will be able to stick to. I'm glad I found this channel.
#0 You have to want to 0:20 #1 Control your satiety 2:09 #2 Pace yourself 4:19 #3 Track your progress 6:18 #4 Consistency 8:31 #5 Don’t get bored 10:21
I currently recover from testicular cancer treatment (33 y/o). I gained about 10 kg and did more or less a „reverse recomp“ during chemotherapy. In short: I lost all gains and became a fat but at least alive f*** 😅 Nearly two years in remission I found the strength and motivation to hit the gym again and now I use your videos to optimise my training to get back on the road. Thanks man.
This young man is a model to follow for future UA-camrs. He approaches fitness rationally and philosophically. Also of note is the fact that he embodies authenticity by speaking in his own voice and with natural gestures. He has avoided the artificial, “larger than life” (e.g. obnoxious) UA-cam personality. He is a true value to the community.
cutting out sugar for me is a big one, keeping your blood sugar stable throughout the day is so important for keeping your hunger under control and more managable. has helped me massively whilst dieting down so thought i'd share!
I just love how my body feels without refined sugar. i’m now off 5weeks and I have more energy, feel feelings more intense and my trainings are way better. My skin got better, my breathing feels better, less brain fog. would advise it to anyone
I don’t replace sugars with anything. I’ve always eaten healthy but wanted to give Carnivore diet a try five months ago and absolutely love it. No inflammation from the carbs…no highs and lows before or after eating. 200g of protein a day. 70-90g of fat. Less than 20g carb, less than 10g of sugar. 5-11 /192lbs. It works for me and I’m at the gym 6/7 days per week. Just found and love this channel.
Man, you are a special human being! I’ve watched a few of your videos. Some of them great, some good. Not all relatable because I am working on being more supple than strong. But this video is just so universal. It could have been easily about how to achieve anything in life. There’s so much wisdom in what you said, but more importantly, it is so relatable because clearly it is borne out of your personal experience and observations of life. And what can I say about your delivery… eloquence, effortless humour and that clear fact that this is what you are rather than this being the content you created for UA-cam. Love you man.
Can you imagine Joey D writing the bible…. Here are the 10 well maybe 11 commandments but I’m only gonna write 10 in stone like but you know…😂 quality as always mate!
Romans 1:20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. God loves you guys He is very real call on His name and see Him work in You.
Hahaha 4:30 bus route diagram was a work of art. Liked how Joe managed to squeeze a bit of culture in at the Tate Modern before getting down to the gum clinic and then Ur mums. Excellent work 👏
After watching various fitness people for years, ive just realised joe has passed most in subscribers now! Truly deserved totally down to earth no bs guy
My god. Why haven’t I come across this before? I love the understated humour, fantastic. Honest, to the point and factually sound. I constantly need to remind myself not to be bored and that line about things being managed has actually changed my outlook on logging food. Keep up the good work 👍
The first one is so accurate, looking back when i did my first shred, i did not wanna do it again simply because i didnt want too or didnt have a reason to do so.
Wow. The first rule is actually the most important like you said. Many of my friends who struggle with weight do so because they do not put in the effort. They kind of want to but in reality they don't actually want and don't actually do.
This content is such high quality and calming and funny and relatable and chill whilst being informative and helpful. Best fitness creator I’ve stumbled upon, thank you so much!
I find number 5 to be so true. I'm a BIG YT consumer(kind of an addict) and for years my brain associated passive actions, like watching videos, to me being hungry, when in reality im not hungry but just bored and my brain just wants to do something. So if you find yourself in this situation, you need to understand this pattern and do something else that involves your full attention.
Bonus: You have to WANT it You have to want to get lean MORE than you want consume calorie dense foods. You have to want consume less calories than you expend to lose fat. #1 Control your satiety 2:09 Hunger is a tool of survival Willpower will NOT overcome hunger Using willpower is draining Consume foods that helps satiety (High water content, high protein, high fibre, slow digesting) #2 Pace yourself 4:19 Don’t overdo the calorie deficit Don’t over do the training Aim how much fat to lose each week, be realistic, Don’t rush it #3 Track your progress 6:18 What gets measured gets managed Initially and for short term no need to track Over time changes are so small it is necessary to track outcomes: A. the "don't get bored" part is true I'm just happy my job's really active that I would finish a shift without me even knowing and my body even forgets to be hungry.
Forreal though wanting to is EVERYTHING! I’ve been slacking the past couple months and not seeing much progress but I finally WANT to again and I’m doing a 2 week mini cut and I’m excited!!
Joe is the only fitness UA-camr worth watching. Never tries to sell you shit or overhype shit. And one day if he decides to sell I bet everyone will support the man because for sure he will deliver a no bs product!
Good info. I have found cutting sugar and lowering carbs will drastically improve your physique. Exercise is important but not like keeping your diet in check .
A youtuber i've been watching for as long as I can remember... who I always come back to simply due to the straightforward, no-bullshit content with great editing.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Much appreciated! Herbs and spices are underrated for sure and its fun to learn to cook new and different meals. Plus as a single person its usually healthier and cheaper too. Consistency is one key for sure.
About one month into loosing fat, goes slow, but results are visible, and I even manage to add some reps/weight on my lifts. My fave tip - pacing yourself. Thanks for the vid, it will keep me going!
Wow, you looked great even in the before pic. Your advice is so true. It may sound like hum-drum same old advice, but those really are the things you have to do. There’s no magic secret. You have to do all those things you mentioned on a continual basis to get results. Great video. 👍😊
Totally unrelated but did anyone else see Joe Delaney on that UA-cam in the past week. Love to see the People's Fitness Champ doing well and elevation. Also ,yet another good video. We are lacking more casual and real people in UA-cam 👊💪
Don't end your resistance training with cardio guys, your body switches systems between being anabolic and catabolic and can lose those well earned gainz. Do it at least 4-5 hours apart
Great advise. Baby steps . Small changes you build up on add up to big changes over time. Better to do less and be consistent then do more that's not sustainable. I started out slow . Like not eating after 7 pm for a week. Then eating clean and eating foods that keept me full..then I did samll interment fasts. Worked out 3 days a week but focused on form and built up my intensity and now am physical 5 days a weel becuse i want to... First 20 lbs came off fast .then platud for a week or so. I just keep going then realized the scale said no your not losing much weight but my paints falling off and the mirror was tellinge diffrent. I was gaining a lot of muscle replacing the fat. Then I hit another weight lose spike. Ya get it. Just keep going. Make one habit stick then move on to another one. Still have a ways to go to reach my goal. But what I do now is just my way of life. And I now look forward to work-outs . My healthy eating. Becuse I feel great and I know it's working . It's a marathone not a race. All those carp foods I loved I no longer desire. But that took was some time to stick

Bonus: You have to WANT it
You have to want to get lean MORE than you want consume calorie dense foods. You have to want consume less calories than you expend to lose fat.
#1 Control your satiety 2:09
Hunger is a tool of survival
Willpower will NOT overcome hunger
Using willpower is draining
Consume foods that helps satiety
(High water content, high protein, high fibre, slow digesting)
#2 Pace yourself 4:19
Don’t overdo the calorie deficit
Don’t over do the training
Aim how much fat to lose each week, be realistic,
Don’t rush it
#3 Track your progress 6:18
What gets measured gets managed
Initially and for short term no need to track
Over time changes are so small it is necessary to track outcomes:
A. Track Calories
B. Track Body Weight
C. Track Activity Level
#4 Consistency 8:31
Don’t stop.
Carry On.
If results plateau keep going, make appropriate changes but
Do not give up
#5 Don’t get bored 10:21
Eventually weight loss and progress will slow down
Then it becomes routine and boring
Boredom can result in snacking
Business reduces snacking
Don’t get bored with training, mix it up
Do workouts you like
Don’t do workouts you dislike
The End
Can you please share what bus takes that route, I coincidentally need to go to all of those stops
