Also what does the size have to do with its durability? It’s such a silly way to look at ships. Size does not equal durability! Think of modern ships. You could have a fairly fragile tanker or cargo hauler and a durable much more expensive warship designed to take a hit with extra bracing, damage control systems, fire suppression systems, power and critical equipment redundancy, protected/armored magazines, self sealing fuel systems, electronic countermeasure systems, and built from the most modern durable and lightweight materials. All at the cost of a higher price. That is the Redeemer. It is a pure warship built for combat only. It is more expensive than almost any other S4 ship at $330 pledge and 17 million in-game! For a pure warship at that price point compared with ships like the $200/8-10 million Connie’s or the $250 Corsair it should excel in its only role. It should be more durable (despite being slightly smaller) and have higher DPS as well as maneuverability. Otherwise what are you paying $130 more for? Those ships are better than the Deemer as a warship AND can multi-role/solo for cheaper. Stop looking at the Redeemer’s size. Size does not make a ship durable. In fact it can make a ship LESS durable in some cases. Putting a $17 million cred warship next to an 8 million cred hauler and say the hauler is slightly larger so it should have more durably is just dumb. Bad take man.

I don't play Squadron 42 because it's not available for play, and testing a buggy Alpha was taking too much of my gaming time. The "it's in development" excuse wore out several years ago for most people.
@@alanthealienoriginal If you are not a game developer by profession, the I am certainly better informed. The reason the "it's a development build" reason is valid is because the more hours they invest in stability and bug fixing of each build, the longer it will take to release the full game. So they try to be optimal about it. Normally, games develop in closed doors and the testing build they have is in far worse conditions than that, and the dev team focuses on pushing forwar to release the game and make fixes and optimization when its fully done. It's completely understandable if one wants to stop playing SC until new content comes or until it releases, but that's no argument to think they're not putting the hours or that it will never release. It's unfounded. This is not an opinion. It is a fact that maintaining a playable build throughout the development of a game lengthens the time it takes to develop it. And additionally, most games run into issues during development, that's fine, but games that have to implement nearly their entire engine from the groud up and many features that no other game has ever done take even longer.
(PvP perspective)Overall it's a Nerf, minimum you need 3 but really need 4 for the back turret. Why have all that crew members in one ship, when you can get 2 fully men vanguards, or a vanguard and heavy fighters, and you can have a wider protection zone. So for fleet defense why even choose the redeemer, when there better options. The only benefit for the redeemer is the beds.
I think it's a buff for sure... especially considering it now better suits the purpose it was intended for (by CIG, not the original fan designers who won the competition). The Redeemer now handles better and performs better for taking out fighters and controlling it's patrolling territory rather than tanking against capitol ships. Sure people got used to what it was before the balancing changes, but that was never it's combat role in the first place. It's a well balanced ship now with real application👍
@@Kiyomoto657 That depends on the pilots and if the Redeemer is fully crewed or not. It ALWAYS comes down to context, there is no 'this will beat that' because it always depends on the circumstances.
redeemer will not be able to kill player manned fighters. It will get kited around unless they change fighters weapon ranges But I am happy you like your ship's changes. Many people don't. I like the glass half-full perspective. A lot of doomers out there.
Great review! I totally agree with you. Armor when it comes will change a lot, especially with the heavy fighters and the gunships. i like the annoyance on s4 guns and s2 shields, why should such a small ship like the redeemer have as much shields as a hammerhead. of course they should have communicated that better and 2 years later is not exactly sensitive. but now it is finally more mobile, so you can even play it better solo like a super heavy fighter. I have to say about the Corsair that it was designed from the beginning so that the lower pilot controls a turret with two s5 weapons. the nerf is not really bad now. the pilot still has 2xs4 and 2xs5 weapons. we tested it, pilot with laser weapons, copilot with 2xad5b that rocks pretty well. only the upper vision area (displays on the ceiling in the lower cockpit) could be better. either way. i'll keep my redeemer and my corsair in any case, they can still do a lot even after the nerf.
The Corsair nerf was a masterpiece of game rebalancing and improved multi crew experience with smart design and inclusive teamwork Source: The White Knight Encyclopedia, version 12, English.
I love people complaining about the "nerf" of the Redeemer, the thing had bigger guns than the Hammerhead and better shields, which was making no sense at all why making heavy gunships if you can make more powerful light gunships ? why making cruisers if you can have tug boats being faster with real battleship guns on it ? Perseus is a brawler gunship, supposed to destroy anything in it's path while being able to tank damages Hammerhead is a flying air defense system gunship, supposed to screen other big ships (like the Perseus) against missiles/torpedoes/rockets and small fighters Paladin is'nt here yet, but apparently it's basicaly a ship designed to tank the most damage possible gunship, suppoesed to work in formation with other ships (like Perseus or Hammerhead) Redeemer is a light gunship supposed to patch holes in formation and give some support to heavy fighters and big ships if ennemies have entered the formation it's that simple really
From what I have seen in testing. Energy turrets have taken a HUGE hit in this patch. You don't notice it when using ballistics, but for energy it is a massive nerf. Suddenly instead of having hundreds of rounds in your turrets you now have 7 shots with cannons and about 35-40 with repeaters
@@RicoZaid_ Nerfed the Corsair they said... but it seems the Hammerhead got a bigger nerf than the Corsair Now try to change the repeaters to Laser cannons and enjoy your 4-5 shots per turret :p
Ya maybe player V AI.. but not player v player... conny ass is to big and moving to slow. in a even fight conny can only win if the other side is AI or has bad teamwork...or maybe no good upgrades.
The new Deemer is not that much faster and maneuverable than the andromeda. The multi role andromeda also has a S3 shield and 180k hull HP and 4 S5 guns AND now s3 turrets all for 10 million. The dedicated pure warship Redeemer has just 28k shields and now 66k hull HP after that was nerfed too. All for a whopping 17 million! It’s a tissue paper coffin for 4-5 people. Connie wins every time. A ship pure built for combat should have way better combat stats than a multi role ship of the same size class. CIG just ripped off its backers that paid $330 for a ship that is now not worth anywhere near that as a warship.
??? Agility over durability does NOT make a good drop ship. No one is dodging turret fire and AA fire while dropping squads. Shields and HP make a good drop ship. They not only removed 170 THOUSAND shields points from the Deemer they also reduced her HP from 101k to just 66k. She’s tissue paper now and a coffin for 4-5 crew. She would make a horrible drop ship now
sure many think this because : s3 shield hawe more durability, also space combat too fast for fps dudes change or repair inside modules during in combat this smal size ship... just no way...
@@overseerhaegemonia7471 did you ever play bad company 2. My fav was engineer. I would run beside tanks in a tank battle to repair so that our tanks won the battle and thus the area of contest.
Imagine go to other players telling them: come with me and you will man a powerful S4 turret while we blunder around doing bounties. I guess even Hammerheads would have an easier time filling up.
The heavy armor it will get will not only replace, but surpass the s3 x2 shields it used to have. You could strip the shields completely down and you'd still have alot of work to do to bring her down... That's what I expect. But we all know how things can pan out sometimes.
If they give the Deemer heavy armor I will take back most of what I’ve said as criticism and CIG ripping off backers that paid for a $330 pure warship only to have it worth less than a $200 Comnie in combat. I don’t see that happening. I will bet real money the Deemer will get less armor than the Connie’s and other multi-role ships. In 24.2 they not only reduced the Deemer’s shields by 170 thousand the also reduced her hull HP from 101k to just 66k. If they were going to make her a hull tank with armor they would not have dropped her to tissue paper HP’s until the armor is in game.
@infinitespace239 Reminder the REDEEMER COST 100$ MORE THAN CONSTELLATION ANDROMEDA. It should NOT have been nerfed at all! (It's a class above the connie and is pure combat GUNSHIP) No point putting 3 people in it if it doesnt have something special (size 5 guns)... About agility, it had this decent agility at launch already and they nerfed it down to Hammerhead agility... This nerf is completely thoughtless and unfair no matter which way you put it.
I don't get crew very often. But when I out Panther / Badgers on the pilot gun, the new turn rated let me eat fighters alive. It's really been.... Redeemed in this patch. 😎
It can stay longer in the fight than F8C, if you swap ballistic for energy . This ship has much more fuel and better shields. And of course hard to find 3 f8c 😅
The Redeemer Has better longterm survivability.. and the player base need to start thinking about resource management and Engineering when it coms to fights.. as the ship with internal repairability has a MUCH better chance to servive in a longtrem fight over a single seat fighter. it will be much harder for you to get out and fix the fighter solo then it will be for one of 2 crew gunner to get out and fix the problem while the ship polt and 2nd gunner just keep fighting/moving. The SC meta is about to change and i think the player base is not ready/thinking about it and it will bite them in the ass.
They need to fix the F8C!! They should just remove guns or down size them !!! Give us agility back !! The F8 is the size of mantis and 100tones lighter than the mantis !! Make no sense it fly's like a bus !!
Im glad that the shield is nerfed. Whenever I'm using lasers against the redeemer, even if I focused one quadrant, my damage would disperse into other quadrants for no reasons. Eventually the AI with infinite ballisitic would whittle me to soft death even though Ive been blasting it with m7a for like 5 minutes.
lol at 1:32 "from size 5 to size 4, from shield 3 to shield 2, is this a nerf? i'm here to tell you it's not". yeah. And i'm here to tell you that you're full of shit. It's a big fat nerf. Old Redeemer did not need agility becauss it could sit still on its ass and blow people out of the sky. You self admittedly never flown the redeemer much because you dont have a crew. As a redeemer pilot myself who ran it fully crewed for 3 years, I am telling you that you are not experienced enough with this ship to qualify for reviewing it. If this egregious nerf is not offensively obvious to you, you are simply misinforming people, which puts all your content into question now. The redeemer was goddamn immortal and yes this is huge nerf
We are all full of shit lol , but nee Redeemer would level old one no problem. Also many shields are better than less, when components start to die. Just wait and see. o7
Yeee it's just like a Harbinger now! How cool... but wait you need 3 people to fly it and Harbinger needs 1 so you can take 3x Harbingers or 1 Redeemer. Do you see the problem now? When you only compare the dmg you get and not count even that you can do so much more with 3 ships instead of 1? This is not a buff it's a huge nerf and you can't spin it any other way.
Just duelled a fully crewed Redeemer (330 dollars) with a fully crewed Corsair (250 dollars). The Corsair tore the new Redeemer apart, cause the new turrets are shit.
"a little bit quishier" hahahaha man, recheck the S3 shieldsizes from before patch pls. it was too much but its not a little difference its a huge difference in DPS and shields. THE CORSAIR HAS MORE BURST DPS FOR PILOT ALONE - AND MORE SHIELD also check older videos, they nerfed the redeemers movement and made it better again.
Redeemer Takes 3 people, 2 fighters of any kinds can wipe the floor with a redeemer or 1 heavy fighter will probably win vs fully crewed redeemer. I am assuming this whole video is actually just a deep style sarcasm?? Actially... this is a funny video.
The Redeemer was so slow turning before. this is great. According to SPViewer, the maneuverability of the Zeus is similar while the Vanguard has similar rotations speeds but can turn with more G’s. So the Redeemer is in a good place now. As For the F8C, I just consider it a more flexible Ares that can either be an Ion (with a ‘normal’ laser canon) or an Inferno. With the new Quantum Drive refactor, the lack of an S2 Quantum drive isn’t really a dealbreaker anymore. But as the Redeemer and F8C are now about the same price, if you had to choose between them, which one would you pick, even if running it solo? Question, do you know how the Terrapin’s cockpit view in 3.24.2 PTU is? Nobody seems to have a video about it. Is the radar still overpoweringly bright and flickering? They did tone down the two cockpit lights already in 3.24.1. How do the new MFD’s look? Cheers man, o7
Thank you for showing something most peoples completely ignore on this PTU, he do seem really fun to fly now. Maybe now i will enjoy it more if i can get my friends to come back. Hope they changes the missions rewards to encourage multicrews.
I think this nerf is great, it gives the hammerhead a bigger role. I also have both the redeemer and hammerhead. Made no sense to have 2 size 3 shields on the redeemer, same as hammerhead but with a much smaller hit box.
literally no reason to man one of these unless they literally dont have another ship available. The argument has, and always will be -- why put a man in a turret, if he can bring a ship? -- prior to the changes, it ALMOST made sense to man it. Now...not at all.
@@madmikomikey A lot of changes will come to multicrew ships in the near future. Many of them won't be optimized for one pilot later. Some engineering features are in the next patch. It will also be easier to find crewmates when they add server meshing, and the latest server meshing test was very promising, almost like its ready for ptu release with a lot of hotfixes needed.
hammerheads and A2 are not capital ships. they are subcapital ships. Also i think they should downgrade the weapons on the corsair abit more... at least one size down. its a freaking explorer ship.
Its a ship, there are others, no one cares about the redeemer, Corsair, unless they're used for there intended role, and crewed properly, then they can rebalance their roles and expectations, if used by a nuttjob solo, then they are stuffed.
Noo a ship like the Corsair was to OP, most of it firepower was Soloble by mine polt.. that was just to OP. Ya sure some of the what they did for the changes was odd.. but it alot like the redeemer.. it need the fire power spilt bettween it crew.. not have most of it all on mian fire trigger that was just dume. Everyone was useing just the Corsair bec it was so over powered as a fake "solo single seat" ship. The only ships in the game that shounld have most if not ALL of it fire power all on 1 trigger are single/two seat fighters.. THE END!
The corsair was sold especially with the idea that the pilot can use all the weapons. As for buff/nerf, without the armor and hacking implemented, it's not smart to think of it like that. Yes corsair as big gun. But it's also drake. It's easy to think that behind it's slow turn rate, it won't have a good armor, making it potentially weak to fighters, especially If we stay in MM style where a buccaneer is never going to be in danger.
No, because you sre not buying ships. Youbare NOT guarateed to get the stats it was concepted with as they say everywhere "work in progress, everything is subject to change." If you think you buy ships for stats and power, you are doing it wrong. Izs that simple.

Yeah, I am amazed how CIG made this good.
In PvP, two light fighters will eat the new Redeemer for lunch.
@@Kiyomoto657 That depends on the pilots and if the Redeemer is fully crewed or not. It ALWAYS comes down to context, there is no 'this will beat that' because it always depends on the circumstances.
You sure are a bright one, arent you.
Role was gunship. Now its just a multicrew heavy fighter. Melt that shit!
redeemer will not be able to kill player manned fighters. It will get kited around unless they change fighters weapon ranges
But I am happy you like your ship's changes. Many people don't. I like the glass half-full perspective. A lot of doomers out there.
"Look how they massacred my boy."
The Corsair nerf was a masterpiece of game rebalancing and improved multi crew experience with smart design and inclusive teamwork
Source: The White Knight Encyclopedia, version 12, English.
Lol 😂
I love people complaining about the "nerf" of the Redeemer, the thing had bigger guns than the Hammerhead and better shields, which was making no sense at all
why making heavy gunships if you can make more powerful light gunships ?
why making cruisers if you can have tug boats being faster with real battleship guns on it ?
Perseus is a brawler gunship, supposed to destroy anything in it's path while being able to tank damages
Hammerhead is a flying air defense system gunship, supposed to screen other big ships (like the Perseus) against missiles/torpedoes/rockets and small fighters
Paladin is'nt here yet, but apparently it's basicaly a ship designed to tank the most damage possible gunship, suppoesed to work in formation with other ships (like Perseus or Hammerhead)
Redeemer is a light gunship supposed to patch holes in formation and give some support to heavy fighters and big ships if ennemies have entered the formation
it's that simple really
From what I have seen in testing. Energy turrets have taken a HUGE hit in this patch. You don't notice it when using ballistics, but for energy it is a massive nerf. Suddenly instead of having hundreds of rounds in your turrets you now have 7 shots with cannons and about 35-40 with repeaters
Hammerhead turret 21 rounds
@@RicoZaid_ Nerfed the Corsair they said... but it seems the Hammerhead got a bigger nerf than the Corsair
Now try to change the repeaters to Laser cannons and enjoy your 4-5 shots per turret :p
They still test. I think they will increase it. o7
@@infinitespace239 I am sure they will
1 problem. Stack a fully manned redeemer against a solo stock conny andro and the conny will 4 shot it…
No way , Redeemer is much faster and nimble. You can't hit it with Connie.
@@infinitespace239 I’m just saying, give it a go with some friends in AC.
Ya maybe player V AI.. but not player v player... conny ass is to big and moving to slow. in a even fight conny can only win if the other side is AI or has bad teamwork...or maybe no good upgrades.
^ this. This is why this ship is not worth it.
Also, answer this simple question, why would you full crew a Redeemer, instead of taking 4 solo redeemer?
CIG can't make multicrew working.
Agility also helps its role as small-squad dropship. Gives you a chance of dodging point defense turrets and hotdrop your squad.
She would make a horrible drop ship now
by making them ciimb a ladder 1 by 1. they never swapped chairs with bunkbeds
With s2 instead of s3 you should be able to carry extra shield gens to swap in and out during combat. Way better imo
sure many think this because : s3 shield hawe more durability, also space combat too fast for fps dudes change or repair inside modules during in combat this smal size ship... just no way...
@@overseerhaegemonia7471 did you ever play bad company 2. My fav was engineer. I would run beside tanks in a tank battle to repair so that our tanks won the battle and thus the area of contest.
But 200k hp > 36k hp. Also guns downsize when it is essentially supposed to be 330$ worth of pewpew
@@Archista valk was supposed to be 375 worth of pew pew and explorer and cargo ships outgun it
and thats terrible
Imagine go to other players telling them: come with me and you will man a powerful S4 turret while we blunder around doing bounties.
I guess even Hammerheads would have an easier time filling up.
why not ? It is really good.
never had a problem to fill up multicrew ships with my friends
Nice show keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do! o7
Whether it has been Nerfed or not depends on your intended use case.
awesome video, 100% on the spot
Thanks mate 😊🫡
I don't get crew very often. But when I out Panther / Badgers on the pilot gun, the new turn rated let me eat fighters alive. It's really been.... Redeemed in this patch. 😎
great buff for the redeemer
So where is the ammo counter in the new ship hud?
On one of the huds, or in your helmet.
Still takes too many crew. Ill take 3 F8s
@@infinitespace239 No you won't stay longer because you will be dead before all the F8C.
They need to fix the F8C!! They should just remove guns or down size them !!! Give us agility back !! The F8 is the size of mantis and 100tones lighter than the mantis !! Make no sense it fly's like a bus !!
They are working on ships. Let the unbalance team work on it!
@@THEMALBINO lol...
Im glad that the shield is nerfed. Whenever I'm using lasers against the redeemer, even if I focused one quadrant, my damage would disperse into other quadrants for no reasons. Eventually the AI with infinite ballisitic would whittle me to soft death even though Ive been blasting it with m7a for like 5 minutes.
lol at 1:32
"from size 5 to size 4, from shield 3 to shield 2, is this a nerf? i'm here to tell you it's not".
Just wait and see. o7
Reedemer needs to get back S3 shield.
Redeemer is faster than Corsairs. Corsair can't hit a thing, because it flies like a brick. But it is amazing for PVE
If you want to try/test it make it in team!!!! this ship is not made for solo play...😮💨
Not easy to get the team together. Sadly.
Either way the interior layout is unfortunately still a mess...
"a little bit quishier" hahahaha
man, recheck the S3 shieldsizes from before patch pls. it was too much but its not a little difference its a huge difference in DPS and shields.
THE CORSAIR HAS MORE BURST DPS FOR PILOT ALONE - AND MORE SHIELD
also check older videos, they nerfed the redeemers movement and made it better again.
Redeemer Takes 3 people, 2 fighters of any kinds can wipe the floor with a redeemer or 1 heavy fighter will probably win vs fully crewed redeemer. I am assuming this whole video is actually just a deep style sarcasm?? Actially... this is a funny video.
Those Redeemer nacelles look like hair straighteners or nut-crackers both of which are not the first design cues I'd pull from. lol
If you take a look from the side you will see that it resembles Hawk. So they opted for that design. o7
From the side it looks like a couple of opened billfold wallets
No serious player will select this ship when facing other orgs in its current state
I want to believe this video, but I can’t believe it’s agile enough to overcome these nerfs.
Try it, ask someone as i did you will see. o7
Cheers man, o7
don't nerf f8c it needs the oomf
size 5's back on the reedeemer needs the penetration for larger ships like a2
why the Zeus has so low hp....
Nobody knows hmmm 🤔
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEdeemer

Thank you for showing something most peoples completely ignore on this PTU, he do seem really fun to fly now. Maybe now i will enjoy it more if i can get my friends to come back. Hope they changes the missions rewards to encourage multicrews.
@@RisenKaiserGlad it serves you. Yeah nice ship. o7
I melted mine so that I can get my A2. It seems I may need to upgrade another ship into the redeemer again! This was awesome. Thank you!
Thanks mate 😊🫡
I think this nerf is great, it gives the hammerhead a bigger role. I also have both the redeemer and hammerhead. Made no sense to have 2 size 3 shields on the redeemer, same as hammerhead but with a much smaller hit box.
@@rmpyro Exactly, Redeemer is 4 times smaller.
literally no reason to man one of these unless they literally dont have another ship available.
CIG should refund all redeemer owners 100 dollars!!!!
No, because you sre not buying ships. Youbare NOT guarateed to get the stats it was concepted with as they say everywhere "work in progress, everything is subject to change."
If you think you buy ships for stats and power, you are doing it wrong. Izs that simple.
Redeemer is rip!
