This has been my go to watch over the past month. It's such a fantastic option. I've gotten used to the large size but I still can't make up my mind on the watch band. It stays wet after swimming or showering but the fit using the band is so good. I'd love to have wifi but I can live without that and all the other short cuts they took. But I can imagine lack of mapping is going to be a deal breaker for a lot of ultra runners. Overall, I've been super impressed with this device. I do like this watch, I also like the Fenix 6 x pro Solar, and even the Instinct Solar. But I have just gotten the 6S pro ( non solar - do find it a little small ). Because local retailers were having a sale , where the price was actually $50 less than the Instinct Solar. I have had it for a week, mostly in smart watch mode, with one outdoor activity per day, and with setting it up, and getting the data fields set, I have still got an estimate of 2 days left from full charge. Coming from day to day activities tracker with the Apple Watch and using a Sunto Ambit for running and hiking, just having one watch with decent battery is going to be great. If money wasn’t an issue probably would go with a larger screened solar Fenix.
I am soo split on all the new tech out! I absolutely love the battery life of the enduro, but wish there was topo maps or a slightly smaller version. And the Epix looks amazing...but the battery life is sad compared to this. Choices choices choices!

Enduro=amazing battery life but no maps. FR745=super comfortable with its smaller size and weight but no maps. And then Fenix you can choose between maps or no maps but you’ll get the durability. Lots of options!
Full maps are loaded onto the Fenix pro/sapphire models as well as the 945/945 LTE. The Enduro and 745 don’t have them but have simple breadcrumb navigation.
Vastly too expensive for me despite the massive battery life. Still considering the Instinct Solar or Coros Pace 2 after both our state pensions kick in and, maybe I get back to some part-time work. Following heart attack, heart rate is critical for me - especially linked to Polar HR10 Heart Rate Monitor so I can track and work to it while riding bike in hilly rural areas
Would you be able to compare this and Garmin Instinct Solar reagrding solar charge (can use Test Mode i.e. turn on while pressing down button) it will show solar voltage and current

I realy would lik,e to know, how much maps would have effect the battery life, because I have my doubts that it would be so significant and it still would have a lot more battery life than all the other Garmins. If it would have had maps and 10days less battery life, I still would have bought this watch . But without maps it is not an option for me. Great review!

Fenix 6 and other devices, when you jump into the water, shows a drop in elevation of around 150m, have they fixed that with Enduro ?

Nothing will get a good satellite signal under a highway 🙃
