Great interview! Vanished Cadavers is great! I can definitely relate to Aaren about discovering extreme music except I did not have anyone who introduce it to me. I got into very late in my late teens/early 20s and I discovered so much by going to shows and reading band logos on patches and t-shirts. I only wish I discovered this great music earlier!
When thrash got big in the 80s it attracted a lot of canoes as well. It's the price of getting bigger. When it goes back underground, the canoes always leave. Posers never stick around. They outgrow metal when it's popularity wanes. Metal fluctuates like this, but it never dies.

Yeah I mean Autopsy I agree with him on, Macabre Eternal is my fav cause it just stuck with me the most I mean for me "Spill My Blood" is one of the most catchy Death Metal songs I've heard, so I'm right with the guy on that Autopsy is pretty fuckin' good.
If a record store sold magazines, I’d always go check those out first. I would look at the ads and reviews from Terrorizer etc, and then see if the store had any of those titles in stock. It always felt so good to find something, especially if it was actually good. Sometimes I’d get some stinkers. I remember discovering the band Khold like this (they suck!!)
I still get thrasher. It’s about one of the only mags that has still stayed in print. Get very tired of reading on a screen after looking at one at work all day. I totally miss music mags and am always trying to track em down

Rockin' picks brah, though I can do without vintage Autopsy (like their new material). It's great that Necrophagia's last album WhiteWorm Cathedral was such a strong send-off, the guitar-work was at it's most virtuosic (Skrim and Abigail) was it not? I recall that smug idiot "Spirit of Death Metal" was talking smack about Killjoy a couple weeks back, he basically said he was a no-talent, with the exception of Season of the Dead. That guys a total jackass, can't stand him.
