19:28 "I actually prevented the spawning of colonialism" - Red Hawk, the hero of Indigenous people everywhere
Spain was the hero of indigenous people. If you wanted indigenous people to be OK, this youtuber should have played against England. So many ignorant people in History games, it's just amazing 😂😂
@@masn9997 Bro what🤣? They slaughtered millions of Mesoamericans and Andeans. Obviously, England was bad but the Spaniards were brutal colonizers too, if you think otherwise you're just delusional.
@@johngobannaq809they were bad, but not as bad as England or France, but it doesn't matter because the original comment didn't even mention anything about this
@@masn9997it was a joke, what are you on about? Just shut up
@@johngobannaq809if england and Spain were bad basically every indigenous culture is too, you don't survive in this world by being praceful
For the record, yes, the age of reformation is contingent on the spawning of the reformation, it's totally decoupled from the Colonialism institution. It *is,* therefore, still possible to stop progression beyond the age of discovery if you are able to somehow stop the reformation from ever spawning, though this is extremely difficult.
There used to be a strat that made it (relatively) easy to conquer Catholicism faster than reformation desire.
But it's damn near impossible now
I think they changed it and it either starts with reformation or in 1600
I managed that once as Austria but it wasn't a good idea, let me tell you. The tech cost penalty is ridiculous.
@@yaldabaoth2 Why did you get a tech cost penalty?
@@Phantom-mg5cg If you stop the reformation from firing, printing press can't spawn. If printing press can't spawn Global Trade can't spawn and so forth.
Hawk not knowing that the age of reformation is tied to the reformation just made me lose some brain cells…
great video!
Maybe thinking of global trade triggering one of the other ages? I seem to remember a strat to block that spawning to prevent age changes
@@petemagnuson7357 yeah both of the others are tied to institutions so I can’t blame him(global trade is absolutism, enlightenment is revolutions)
ngl, there was a time I thought that what triggered the end of the age of discovery was colonialism
@@petemagnuson7357 It is potentially possible to significantly delay the age of reformation. If you play as the pope, you can disable the events that Catholic rulers get that increase reform desire. The pope gets similar events except sometimes one of the options allows you to prevent those events from firing for any Catholic ruler. You can also remove Catholic tags so there’s fewer to click the events. It might be possible to prevent it completely, but it’d be hard.
Regarding global trade, if you have the most trade power in the most valuable node, you’re the only eligible nation to spawn it. But if you also don’t have any provinces in that node(maybe because your power is coming from occupations or subjects) then it can’t spawn. So if you release a subject England in the south of England, and have assorted other subjects hold the mainland provinces, have all of them divert trade, and make English Channel the strongest node, it should never spawn, which should prevent the age of absolutism. Idk why someone would want to do that, but it’s possible.
@@Benrmanidk if they fixed it but you used to able to delay the reformation by like a 100+ years
i think as the finale for the series you can make a custom nation. such a great and underappreciated feature in EU4
He could try to go for the Ideas Guy Achievement.

Galicia!! Finally
Viva Galiza Ceive!
As a Galician, this is really a momento in History.
Me too brother… one struggle
VIVA A GALIZA!
Encontrei o galego
Imagine this as being the real world
Castile just releases a vassal, and that vassal wipes them out in a couple decades XD
This actually does happen, but a lot of the times it is not willingly, sometimes there could be a lord in the kingdom that is very powerful and as their power grows the king starts giving them more autonomy, then the lord with enough claim can go on to attack the king himself and take him out or cut out his own kingdom from the kingdom he was formally in.
The story of Prussia.
That’s literally what Castille did to Leon irl
@@mrgopnik5964 wasn't that more a kingdom being divided among multiple heirs before primogeniture became a thing
I did the same in an Aragon game. Got Castile early on in a PU, forced Portugaul into a PU, got Leinster in a PU and used them as a base to invade England and got my dynasty on the France throne and forced them into a PU. Colonialism didn't spawn until late 1500s and it was Norway who spawned it.
When Castile and Portugal get PUd they focus their ideas more on economic, trade, diplo, etc. Me taking the coastline and being on British soil made them focus on military ideas and France is usually late to the colony game anyway and they also focused elsewhere. So it fell to the late bloomers like Norway and the Burgundy minors (they got integrated into me via the inheritance), so Norway spawned it much later than normal. It also meant that the Printing Press got delayed too
yeah exact thing happened to me in my Aragon game ahaha
>professional eu4 player discovers that age of reformation is tied to reformation and not to colonialism
actually peak
It's obvious what to do as Min. Min max.
No max only min
@@shadowfacts395 Max min - maximise the least optimal playstyle by taking the worst idea groups, worst pip units, worst gov reforms??
Oh wait, this is releasables, scratch that. Still would be funny for a min campaign
Colonialism in 1515 is the kind of luck I needed in my Kamchatka game. spawned it i think 1508 in my capital, completely ganked the AI because of it.
Fairly certain you played Asturias already. This is your last releasable in Castille
16:47 LMAO Aragon being cheeky
15:45 That palatinate is amazing.
Colonialism could spawn for Portugal in Arguin, but it would have to have 12 Development (as it's not their capital or a centre of trade)
I had a game as Aragon where I PU'd Castille and Portugal. That game didn't spaw colonialism until the 1600s... No one picked exploration...
I saw Granada defeat Castille on their own once. Sadly I had to kill them after PUing Castille. I had a really nice campaign as France where my plan was just a chilled game, but I had luck and then went for the achievement Atwix‘ legacy. I could have turned it into a world conquest, but I didn’t have the real-life time and power to do it.
Preventing the spawning of colonialism for as long as possible would be a fun idea for a challenge game. Starting as Portugal or someone and then conquering all the coastlines of people who pick exploration ideas.
Red Hawk has been on a video spree lately. Making my mornings & nights.
the fact you locked out colonialism was so great, never seen that happen
Wow, this campaign was basically the reverse of Murphy's law. Everything that could go right went right.
Don't let Zlewikk hear you say that lol great video though
just wanna say switching between games can be jarring, love all your content!
Hello Hawk :3
Hello there!
I ve been watching your videos for quite a while and enjoy your content but I must say: I like that you use vassals but im bothered every time you just conquer their cores - the way to use reconquest is to use return core in the second tab while negotiating peace deal, that way 1) you can get your discounts on the provice cost (be it from malta/age objective/diplo ideas/admin efficiency...) 2)you get +40 opinion with returnee per province (up to 200 for 5) with 1 yearly decay so you dont rly have to care about improving relations in most cases 3) unless the returned province is the primary culture of the nation you are taking it from, this also gets rid of their core. This can be both good and bad depending on situation. And one more thing: for some reason, theres a bug in game that lets you take the war target for yourself with the lowered ae cost, this might be very usefull in some cases tho you ll have to core it unlike your vassal.
For you next challenge, spawn Colonialism by taking exploration ideas
As Galician I was waiting for this
Once Asturias is next you should definitely do Why Is The Rûm Gone achievement
Im from Coruña, Galicia, really hyped for this one :)
As Min, own all provinces of Mon culture.
thank you galicia, very cool
Hawk love the videos man. I gotta know, where is your accent from? A fellow Dutchman?
I am from Burundi
As Min do the Min-imum to become a great power. Do not grow your borders at all except through vassals and build as tall as you can.
When he said Galicia, I thought he was talking about polish galicia and was confused on that. Is this normal
no you are polish you are cooked i'm sorry there is nothing that can be about it
somewhere in this game, French Mexico probably exist 💀
ive done that as japan in a few games, colonialism didnt make it to europe until the 1560s
Portugal is in a great position for a Brazil game.
RedHawk always does the Mrbeast pose at the beginning of his videos
Since you've played Asturias already, that makes Valencia the last Iberian releasable.
Oh i forgor i played them lol
@@TheRedHawk Asturias is actually a really fun nation with great national ideas.
As Min play as an One Province Warlord and vassalize all of the Ming releasables.
A "Min Max" playthrough!
Drinking game idea:
Take a shot everytime hawk says stuff like that
I never see Galicia free nice to see this😊
It would be great if you also showed religious and cultural maps at the end of your videos. Love from Türkiye
Fun!
Omigah you play Red Alert??? ❤❤❤
Hawk used to play pubg? Now that’s another video I would watch!
Age of absolutism is tied to global trade, age of reformation is tied to reformation spawning
Just noticed in the outro but, uh, who was that down in the Canary Islands?
You should have had a secondary goal of having Galicia-Volihinya as a vassal and own all of Poland/Poland not exist.
->makes overpowered custom natipn in New World
->stops colonialism from spawning by taking every reachable coastal province in the new world before Europe shows up
Oops.
Granada is the half-portugal now
hawk, idk if you always had it but i just noticed a point in your head and it's distracting me now lmao
The Seven crosses represent the old Galician province sistem. O believe you know what the calix and the hostia are.
I thought the age of REFORMATION was tied to colonialism not the REFORMATION
The ruler you have in the thumbnail is indeed ruler of Galicia, but the one in Ukraine, not the one in Spain 😃
Shhhh
Galicia the rightful Ruler of Iberia
hey hawk why you dont go to aragon an get blackflaggt to save your troops? ❤😊
As Min you miss a G... so conquer all province in Asia whose nome begin with "G"
Playing Red Alert has really sped up your gameplay!
Very nice!
Least cursed releasables game - clearly Galicia is the dominant source of Spanish power. I was hoping to see Korea spawn colonialism, haven't seen Asian colonialism spawn in three expansions unless I'm in Asia.
You really gotta learn how coalitions actually work. You're playing unnecessarily safe.
I’m just tryna chill bruh
Not everyone treats their campaigns like a min maxed world conquest you know?
rofl you got Granada to migrate to Portugal
as Aztec colonize Spain before 1544
Finally, an lawful good eu4 campaign. Redhawk saves like 20 million people
Laith the hero of the anti-colonial struggle! ✊✊✊
What country are you from?
Your peace deals are always so painful.
There is almost no reason not to take more land. There are barely enough countries to have a coalition and you have Allies and truces.
Galicia? I hardly know her.
I am from there
The Reconquista wasn't completed so, not entirely satisfied. Sorry
Like si eres Gallego, viva Galicia!!!
You wasted the best opportunity in this series to try and spawn colonialism yourself.
What you call it?
I'M FROM GALICIA :D
Oh no! Not Colonialism! That's the favourite dish of the Europeans!
They really need to nerf France and turks, it’s just the same every time you play it not in Europe, half of it belongs to France other to yurks.
Far from the most cursed game. Just played as australian tribe, so no involvement in anything.
France killed by England and Burgundy. Austria killed by Bohemia. Mamluks killed by Yemen. Ethiopia killed by Adal. Ottomans expanded into timurids. Yue conquered most of China. Vijangar conquered most of India. All of that before absolutism.
