    I'm no expert, but here's a radical concept : If someone has a healthy body, but their mind does not like their body, why not treat their mind rather than irreversibly medically alter their perfectly healthy body? Call me crazy, or an evil bigot, but I can't help wondering if there could be some milage in that idea. Am I alone in thinking that?

    • @hazeloveu
      @hazeloveu Рік тому +14

      These issues used to be classified as mental disorders. So the course of treatment used to be to fix the mind. Of course suggesting that nowadays is offensive and bigoted. Because reality is subjective. It’s whatever people want it to be.

    • @nathanaelsmith3553
      @nathanaelsmith3553 Рік тому +3

      @@hazeloveu The nature of reality is that it isn't subjective - it's objective (by definition) - that's literally what the word 'reality' really means. Also, I don't think all professionals would agree with you. Or even all trans-identifying people for that matter. I've heard some describe themselves as having a disorder.

    • @hazeloveu
      @hazeloveu Рік тому +8

      @@nathanaelsmith3553 I realize you cannot hear the sarcasm in my reply. My comment about Reality being subjective was drenched in sarcasm. I’m sure not all medical professionals would agree with me, as they are humans with opinions. It’s my opinion that people who believe they are something they are physically not, have a disorder.

    • @nathanaelsmith3553

      @@hazeloveu oh - sarcasm acknowledged. I get offended when I hear people whinging about their perfectly healthy bodies. Quadriplegia, cerebral palsy and blindness are problems. Liking dresses or wishing you had a winkie isn't really a significant problem. I wish I was taller, less hairy and had a good singing voice, but I don't. That doesn't make me special - it just makes me short, hairy and possibly tone deaf. And yet somehow I manage.

      This is so obvious it's no wonder smart(er) people didn't consider it. What are we doing with our world and ourselves? So far, in all the planets that we know of, we are the only living beings. Why are we doing our best to obliterate it all?

    It is highly dangerous to take young teenagers who believe they are suffering from gender dysphoria without lengthy examinations into their state of mind. It turns out that the Tavistock Clinic was rushing this whole process and proscribing puberty blockers etc. left, right and centre. It is extremely fortunately that Hannah Barnes revealed what was taking place, with her investigative work resulting in the closure of the clinic.

    From my understanding of the tavistock institute over 25 years there a social experiment think tank, which set in motion programmes which would be classed as social engineering, promoting social conditioning, plus operant conditioning to sway society into both government and EU brainwashing. A seriously flawed outfit, who have no accountability to anyone, the tavistock institute have been in business for over a century with their social experiments, it's hard to find anything on the tavistock institute from before the 1950,s as it's all been taken down off the internet, as there was a lot more information 15 years ago on the web, I wonder why!

    I don’t understand how a particular bodily disphoria, separate from, say, people who believe their limbs don’t belong to them or that they were meant to be blind, becomes suddenly much more common and yet the psychological component seems to have not been considered
    I hear the emotional blackmail which says that it is saving children from suicide etc and yet suicide rates have not reduced since this has become available. When I was at school this (unlike being gay for instance which has always existed in numbers) was not something which was even in our consciousness. And yet suicide rates were not higher.
    I blame the parents as much as anyone. I have supported my daughter since she was four in wanting to change her name, first to Elizabeth, later Lily, recently Elle. And she had the kind of personality to make sure her teachers ended up indulging her. Had she wanted to identify as a boy, well that’s up to her not me. Had she wanted anything permanent done to her body- that’s where my strong line in the sand would be drawn. I can indulge her whims, but when the rest of her life is in play, that’s when she needs me to be a parent and a parent wit the wisdom to see there’s a lot of life and a lot of changes of mind to come yet.
    Teenagers DO NOT HAVE the ability to see into the future like that

      She gives the obligatory, 'cock-up over conspiracy, like most things in life' disclaimer. But while that may seem to apply to the NHS's failure to pay sufficient attention to these issues, even that apparent 'cock-up' needs to be considered in the context of the predictable opprobrium that paying greater attention would have entailed. Was there a climate of fear within which regulators operated, and which worked against scrutiny? And if so, was the creation of that climate a mere 'cock-up,' or something more deliberate?

The number of people seeking the clinic's in 2021 was 20 times higher than it was a decade before, jumping from 250 to 5,000 referrals in 2021. This meant the average person waiting for two years before they are seen by a specialist and immense pressure on the staff that resulted to sloppy application of processes and procedures and of course mistakes in diagnosis and treatments.
