Always ALWAYS look at the buyer review rating. Never go for anyone lower than 98% for people that have a lot of sells.......and even then be wary if they're less than 100%. I have yet to recieve a bootleg from a seller that's only sold 100 or less things. Also, shipping for California and a deal too good to be true is a bootleg. The biggest indicator is there are no pictures of the item in the seller's home and just from the original selling website....big red flag right there. And if you really wanna get picky, message them asking if it comes with a box/have a picture of the box. Bootleggers get very defensive and their English isn't usually the best, legit ones usually answer the question. I've learned my way around the Ebay figuring buying market lol
I'm so scared to buy Suruguya/try the third party delivery service route because of shipping costs. I should probably just stop belly aching and put aside a certain amount of money for the budget but it's easier to cry and whine on a youtube comment than being productive :'^)

I agree deeply about the japanese standards for taking care of their stuff, I remember myself in the local flea market (these called hard-offs) where i bought c.c. , roy mustang and eva 01 figures. they were really cheap and came in a flawless condition, i wouldnt believe this if i didnt see it with my own eyes. and yet wished youtube had recommended this video for me earlier, since I'm not familiar with online shipping, but just made the purchase for higashikata josuke in goodsmilecompany shop anyway, just hope things work out.
If you used zenmarket I'm sure your order will be fine. I've had like... 20 orders sent to me and none of them have ever gone missing, or things got damaged. Though your experience may vary from proxy company to proxy company. Personally I've only ever used Zenmarket, Neokyo, WhitrRabbitExpress and Samurai Buyer.

I've found that Japanese Mercari is the best pricing, but hit/miss for inventory. Mandarake might be a bit more expensive, but it's important to note they have a lot of rare vintage items that warrants higher price points.
Don't mind me I spent around $3,000 for a collection that isn't finished yet, & some of my figures have to be repaired before I can display them. Yeah, proxy shopping is essentially useless for older figures. Nothing wrong with buying from eBay if you know what to look for, & properly know how to interogate a fake seller from a legitmate one. If you want to buy that cheap, then kiss shipping insurance good bye. Believe me, unless you've dealt with companies like amiami, then I highly suggest buying in bulk with EMS or DHL because it happens very frequently with economy shipping. Compared to what I've recieved I can tell you right now more than half of the time economy shipping or anything similar will you screw you. I've used economy when I first started because the fees are just too high as stated in the video, but when I get my product the contents or the box are most of the time ruined. So, I switched to EMS & just buy in bulk because it's not worth losing $ the moment it arrives, & sometimes expressed insured shipping is offered for free which for most people saves like $100+. I would just be blunt & say the only real way to save any $ is by pre-ordering, but I'll let the newbies figure that out for themselves. We all gotta learn how this expensive trade works eventually~

Hii! Im trying to buy a sakura miku nendoroid from surugaya, they have an english version of the website that shows the price for yen, and the price for USD , if I bought it, would I have the choice to pay in yen or USD? Because I dont have any yen, as I dont live in japan.
I've personally never used their international website before so I'm not quite sure how that'll work. If you're wanting to use a proxy service for shopping I recommend sticking with the Japanese version. Highly recommend reaching out to Suruga-Ya's customer service otherwise.
Loved the video! But ever since I started collecting, I bought all my 12 nendoroids from ebay. Just ask for the seller to give you a close up pic of the face and you'll be able to know right away if it's a bootleg or not really.

I think crunchyroll is the best to get them at because when they're in stock unlike preorder they come from a warehouse in the usa. They also offer preorders and you can pay with sezzle. also english websites are easier to use personally
For American buyers it's probably the best option yeh. Though over here figure buying sites are pretty much non existent. Except for maybe a few. Though they charge waaay too much. And buying figures from American based sites leaves you with massive amounts of import taxes and fees.

Let me just give some more advice. It is perfectly fine buying figures on Amazon, if you for some reason can't buy anything on amimai, and other websites. However, you can still get screwed over. Let me explain. About 2 weeks ago, I ordered a Saber Altria Nendoroid from Amazon using Genki Anime for where I bought it from. Always keep in mind the price: another example, if you see a nendoroid selling for less than 40$, it is almost guranteed to be fake. For instance, my Saber nendoroid was $60 (I also know it is accurate, as the Good Smile Logo was on the top right, as well as the quality and condition of the figure). Last but not least: ALWAYS CHECK THE CUSTOMER FEEDBACK. If an item has no reviews, don't buy it. When buying a nendoroid check for where you are buying it from. Check how many reviews there are (I saw that Genki Anime had over 1000s of reviews and that they were high reviews). If there are like 4 reviews, and there are five stars, this can only mean one thing: Either the figure is incredibly new (I tried finding a Goro Akechi Nendoroid, but it was sold out and had 2 five star reviews, it came out late last month), or its simply a fake. Always read the reviews of customers. Well I wish you all a good day.
My brother knows I'm a fan of one piece and love doflamingo. He decided for christmas he would get a figure of doflamingo as my Christmas gift. The thing is, hes not that knowledgable when it comes to figures and cant tell how to spot bootlegs from the real thing. I got the figure and was excited for it, but after carefully looking at it, I knew it was a bootleg. It broke my heart to let him know he bought a fake and he spent $50 on it. He felt bad, but I still thanked him for it, because it was an awesome gift nonetheless.
Tbh, nenderoid factory is located in china, some times I feel people there are secretly selling defects part, or have some stocks of finished nendoroid, though they sell as expensive or more expensive than gsc though, but I really want to collect them.

I think crunchyroll is the best to get them at because when they're in stock unlike preorder they come from a warehouse in the usa. They also offer preorders and you can pay with sezzle. also english websites are easier to use personally
For American buyers it's probably the best option yeh. Though over here figure buying sites are pretty much non existent. Except for maybe a few. Though they charge waaay too much.
And buying figures from American based sites leaves you with massive amounts of import taxes and fees.

Let me just give some more advice. It is perfectly fine buying figures on Amazon, if you for some reason can't buy anything on amimai, and other websites. However, you can still get screwed over. Let me explain. About 2 weeks ago, I ordered a Saber Altria Nendoroid from Amazon using Genki Anime for where I bought it from. Always keep in mind the price: another example, if you see a nendoroid selling for less than 40$, it is almost guranteed to be fake. For instance, my Saber nendoroid was $60 (I also know it is accurate, as the Good Smile Logo was on the top right, as well as the quality and condition of the figure). Last but not least: ALWAYS CHECK THE CUSTOMER FEEDBACK. If an item has no reviews, don't buy it. When buying a nendoroid check for where you are buying it from. Check how many reviews there are (I saw that Genki Anime had over 1000s of reviews and that they were high reviews). If there are like 4 reviews, and there are five stars, this can only mean one thing: Either the figure is incredibly new (I tried finding a Goro Akechi Nendoroid, but it was sold out and had 2 five star reviews, it came out late last month), or its simply a fake. Always read the reviews of customers. Well I wish you all a good day.

Oww no no I can't remix music. The music I use in my videos (including outro music) are mostly just remixes made by Touhou doujin circles.

My brother knows I'm a fan of one piece and love doflamingo. He decided for christmas he would get a figure of doflamingo as my Christmas gift. The thing is, hes not that knowledgable when it comes to figures and cant tell how to spot bootlegs from the real thing. I got the figure and was excited for it, but after carefully looking at it, I knew it was a bootleg. It broke my heart to let him know he bought a fake and he spent $50 on it. He felt bad, but I still thanked him for it, because it was an awesome gift nonetheless.

I won't be using the site for Nendoroids, but for Japanese manga instead. Japanese amazon was a goldmine I wasn't able to get into before.
Tbh, nenderoid factory is located in china, some times I feel people there are secretly selling defects part, or have some stocks of finished nendoroid, though they sell as expensive or more expensive than gsc though, but I really want to collect them.
