upload9595 we went frame by frame in the edit and the RS3 actually looses a slight bit of traction on ‘GO’ which makes it look like the A45 goes first. All in all, very close.
@@BOTBreviews The first run is indeed very close but going frame by frame i can see that the a45 starts first. And the second run the gap is a bit bigger in the reaction time, again in favor of the a45. But thats how races go sometimes... I just wish the RS3 got that one more chance. I think if both cars start in the same time(very hard to do, i get it) the end result will be super close.

RS3 now 5 years old, the old king of the mega hatches still showed an amazing performance and not really much in it, I’d choose the 5 pot engine for a 10th of a second or two slower!

Yes I think the same.... Its easy that the RS3 is an OPF model because the RS3 W/O OPF was produced from June 2017 to March 2018.... few cars.... the OPF model has nothing to do with the no OPF model.

Just like the new RS6, I don't think the "normal" version of the next-gen RS3 is going to be any quicker than the old one, not on a straight line anyways (will have a bit more power but with a lot more weight + power fade for the hybrid system at higher speeds)..... By the time an RS3 "performance" or "plus" come out, it's going to go up against an either facelifted or entirely new A45 S.
@@bosshunterman Since there has never been a RS3 plus or performance i dont think that will happen. But doesnt matter how fast it will be in my opinion it will still be better than the A45 just because of the engine. And (for me) in styling ... dont like the looks of the A-Class

@@Verybadbiker Gotta say i got no problems with my 2015 one. Yeah its running on an upgraded suspension but doesnt matter. Drove a (yeah now its the old one, but back there it was the "new" one) A45 of a colleague once and i gotta say, for me the RS3 is the way better handling car.
But on the other hand (well yeah its a coupe but anyways) compared to a M2 the RS3 looses ^^

Only problem with the RS3s OPF is they short shift for some reason. I don’t know if it’s Audi’s way to protect gearbox’s.my saloon will sometimes not short shift and seen others do the same

One thing springs to mind, the AMG 45s is pushing the limits of what that turbo 4 pot will do. However, the RS3 has that weapon of a 5 pot that is easily remapped to 500hp for around the same amount of money. It really would be curtains for the AMG45s and given the tunability of the 5 pot, it bodes well for the new RS3 to come.
@Sebastian shvane Stabonkity Hang on the 2.0L in the leon is a VAG group TFSI 4 pot, I really don't think there is very much left for the Merc stock 2L 4 pot turbo without mechanical changes or compromising reliability. There is undeniably alot more potential in the Audi 5 pot IMHO
Considering there's I don't know, 5? 6 years between them? It's taken them a while to overcome the RS3. Will definitely be interesting when the new RS3 is released.

The interior of the A45S is light years beyond the Audi. Audi have been slow to upgrade the RS and it looks like something from the Flintstones. Anyone know when the upgrade is due 🤔
The reason the interior hasn't been upgraded is that the new A3 will debut within the next couple of weeks (start of March if i recall correctly). The new interior will be much more modern, like the new Q3.
Just the way the model releases work the AMG45s is likely going to look a bit dated when the new RS3 drops. RS3 has stood the test of time far better than the old AMG45 which is dreadful inside and out.

@@dbagdi1998 Carwow used a de-tuned 2017 RS3 with only 450 nm of torque (to make the OPF one look better,) as seen in that video. A real 2017/2018 RS3 has at least 500 nm of torque and does the quarter mile a few tenths of a second faster than the OPF model.

Sorry guys, but if I was at an airfield and I heard a plane flying about, I would wonder if it was coming in to land, especially as your cars were on the runway. You didn't even pay it any attention. Good drag race by the way, and I think the new A45 is better inside than the Audi, but the Audi is still a rapid car.

RS3 power is suppressed...if you try to tune them both the A45 can't get much because is already at his peak power..but RS3 can push way more
There’s only 20hp between the two so it’s going to be close isn’t it!
With a difference that small the New 2021 RS3 will kick its arse, the great thing with the RS3 is knowing they can just turn up the wick on the engine at will. Audi could easily bump it up another 100bhp without problem.
The person counting down 3.. 2.. 1.. will always have the edge on the start because they know exactly when to launch.
Both are rapid even the previous gen 45 I would tuned all of them
