Few more things Dont overfill over 5.5 l in oil cause u will bust the crankshaft oil ring ( squeaky noise near the belt ) Thermostat is a very common thing to break on these cars so be careful about that ( the hose next to it will also bust open and you will need to order it directly through mercedes ) Charge pipe and turbo to intercooler coupling need to be checked as they are known to bust open. The turbo has watercooling, the container is under the engine cover and does not have a sensor so if it is low on coolant you won’t be able to know . Always check and top up if needed ( u will feel the car struggling to pull if empty) ECU tune the car and update the gearbox software to the newest one ( if you have the pre facelift version of the car ) - it will make a night and day difference If the panoramic roof is broken or closes only on one side ( for those equipped ) the plastic sliders have broken and u have them on ebay for 10 to 20$ Best oil for this car is 0w40 ( quantity 5.5l ) ( the stick will be at bare minimum but the oil heats up to 109c and fills the gap) Change Trans oil every 30,000 KM Change diff oil every 20,000 to 30,000 KM. Change plugs every 2nd service ( cheap and easy to change ) make sure that u order through mercedes. If you cannot fill it up properly then you need to clean the EVAP system next to the gas tank. Use the most premium petrol possible.

I got a fantastic example of the facelift A45 in March this year. 2017 model with only 24000 miles on it. Front end has some stone chips (down to the metal) so I’m going to get that sorted. Beautiful car. More than enough power. Nice shifts and a firm but good enough ride. Interior is a excellent and of course, it’s not 2023, but lovely interior. Still a head turner.
BRILLIANT car if you get a good straight well maintained one. Ultra reliable and so exciting to drive, BUT you are so right to show how to diagnose a gearbox problem as there are now too many low priced vehicles out there that the crafty buyers want to take the money and run for as they know the cars gearbox is on the way out, and they simply can't afford (or want to pass on) the gargantuan repair bill. There is nothing worse than being so excited about buying what is such a magnificent car only to find out your hard earned money has been wasted on a crippling money pit. Soul destroying.

the yt algorithm just showed me this so had a watch. i bought a 2016 FL 4 months ago and waited out for 3 months to find a well maintained one with low millage. finally got one with 52,000 and had it's gearbox serviced twice by the previous owner. did all the checks you mention apart from interior and that crank sensor. that's an interesting one that i will now know if my car isnt as responsive in the future. i had it tuned recently to 420bhp and 428ftlbs. makes it pull much much better at low revs compared to stock. i wouldn't want anymore power than that though as youre pushing your luck a bit as like you say, gearbox and turbo problems are common on these.
Awesome video to all viewers who watched his video he did not mention servicing the gear box I have a cla180 sport amg line auto 7speed . I serviced the gear box at 60,000 miles. And the fluid was dirty 😳 so far the car has not had any gear changing issues So please if your buying this car or a cla 45 saloon version from any dealership please ask them if they serviced the gearbox. Most dealerships sell the car at 70 to 80000 miles without gear box fluid and filer change plus differential oil change.
