I was there and it was the greatest time of my life. Before the beach boys came out it was cloudy ,cold, and raining. They started to perform and the sun came out. Was exciting.

I was 14-years old and spent the entire day at or near the very front row from the first notes until the last notes...what a day, what a time. It's hard to believe that 37-years have passed, now older than Willie was on this day, I just saw him again this last week Sept 20th 2022 in New York's Central Park .... What a line up!
Speaking of Willie, think about this. How many times was Willie’s bus stopped and arrests made for marijuana and hell it’s legal in probably 1/2 the US, and medical in even more places. Think of the changes he’s seen in his lifetime.
What an awesome show that was. Brings back great memories. I was a college student in Omaha at the time. We drove hours to get there, had a great day at the show, then drove hours back that night. Got maybe an hour of sleep before we had to go to class that Monday morning. Totally worth it!
I had the good fortune to be able to attend Farm Aid 2019, at Alpine and Farm Aid 1985, in Champaign....how lucky I am...both most excellent experiences in live music and positivity!
The "Economic Setbacks" the narrator is talking about started with Earl Butz (Secretary of Agriculture under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford) included Government Regulations that were designed to bankrupt the farmers and then offer some of them subsidies if they used Petroleum Chemicals based agriculture; the rest were bought out by big agribusiness and some of the small farmers that were willing, able, and ready to scale-up with the help of their government captors... ah, I mean "helpful 'Department of Agriculture' bureaucrats".
😂😂 As an Illini fan I was dying laughing at 2:46:00 when she asks the other announcer what the crowd is chanting when they were saying “I-L-L! I-N-I!” 😂 👏🏻🔶🔷
We drove up from the 'Lou and I had made a big orange banner with 30 inch letters that said "VAN HAGAR". When he came out my buddy Steve Bauer and I had each hoisted a chica up on our shoulders and had them raise it up and Sammy yelled out "GET THAT F"N BANNER UP HERE" and he pranced around with it and tossed on an amp. You can see the orange mound in the video during Rock and Roll. After the show they were moving everyone out and I went up the stage. It took 20 minutes of pleading before a kindly stage hand or security dude went and got my banner for me. It hung it Skiles basement for years. I wish I could get the raw footage of the moment he yelled out for it. It is not the banner you see later where Eddie jokes about his tiny dick....
This was a time these stars used their voices for good in the world. They helped out the less fortunate. Put aside their egos, came together and got good work done. Just like with; We Are The World& Thats What Friends Are For. Now these kids in the business they just run their mouths spouting political views. They don’t care about the world or giving back with their money and talent. All these stars coukd get together and give some time to help the homeless situations we have in this country. They don’t have to do anything but give their time! Others will give and how many people could be helped from homelessness and drug abuse in 2023 from a collaboration like this. Think of the homeless children in the streets with drug addicts as parents. These people could help!
This was the last time America was America. I joined the army 3 years after this concert thinking I could pitch in. 18 years later I was fucking fed up and disgusted with what America had become. America grows weaker every passing day. I just hope I’m around when it implodes so I’ll have a chance to stamp out the ones who need it most. 🇺🇸

Wish our government would stay here and allow American farmers to grow what we need. Oh, and how I wish someone would have told Mike Love a long time ago he can't dance.
