Thank you so much for uploading this. I inherited this exact jack from my older brother who passed away unexpectedly in 2020. I have other jacks as well, but being that it belonged to him, I'd like to keep it going as long as possible.
Thanks for the video it was very informative. Just for future reference there is a large set bolt that unscrews at the back of the jack located at the base of the handle that, once loosened, removes the entire handle. I only know this because I couldn’t figure out how to remove the entire handle for the longest time. Thanks again.
Should've reminded people about the teeny tiny gasket on the drain plug. Sometimes it doesn't come out so you've got to delicately pick it from around the drain hole *before* draining.
Needed to put the wheel in a vice it makes it SAFER and easier taking the retainer off. I know i gouged the shit out of my knuckle when my screwdriver slipped. Yes i did use my vice to finish both wheels. Pluse i drilled and tapped them for zert fittings. Slowly turn the wheel while pumping the grease it fills up evenly with clean grease whipe off the dirty excess grease and you are done. My solid axel i drilled tapped and put a grease zert. A couple pumps of grease and wipe off the dirty excess grease and your done. Have done this to all my floor jacks. Difference between your jack and mine was mine said to put the plug back in before jacking. Jack 10 times and slowly loosen to bleed off any air and repeat. After second time check oil level if ok put plug back in and your done. Or you can check as many times as you feel you the need to.
I just bought a Daytona “Super Duty” floor jack and the owners manual says to replace jack oil every 3 years. I’m not looking forward to it. It weighs over 100 lbs.
I have the same jack. My 2 spring pumps don't seem to want to come back out. Any idea how to fix that? Was working fine until I picked it up from my aunt in law, I released the pump so the handle would stay down while in the bed of my truck and now it doesn't to come back out like it's supposed to.

Never do both sides at the same time, just in case you need to reference, and I need to reference. Super solid and not so obvious advice.

I have discovered a rule about removing circlips: They will always fly off and land in the most inaccessible part of one's garage.
put a towel over or under and it will stop it
Question what grease did you use bc i have lucas red and tacky grease nlgi #2 would that work on my Pittsburgh 3ton???

My jack makes a loud squeak when it’s under load and lifting the car. I replaced the fluid and removed and cleaned the pistons.
Nice work on the maitinence
Thanks, man! I figure people can use this video to keep their jacks from failing due to no or little maintenance.
@@toolinhand great help to tons of people not alot of these videos out there good work

Why would someone replace the hydraulic oil on a 6- 7 years old Jack, just inspect it fill as needed and purge it.

That ring needs a flat beak snap ring plier totally different type of snap ring pliers
Thanks! I looked it up, and that's on my list of tools to get, now.

I would check to see if there's jack oil in it. It may have leaked out at one point.
does anyone know what the set screw "turns" are? Yeah, i took it apart without knowing to count them? thanx
What would make the jack very slow to come down?
Not enough weight on it?
I did the worst thing anyone can do.... I left my jack outside for a whole year 🤦♂️. Idk if it's worth buying replacement parts or buying a new one
That depends on how extensive the damage is.

I would of put the grease on the ball bearings then put the top on but thats me
Good idea. Next time, I'll do that.
On my jack I have two pump springs but only one is working can you please help 🙏🏾 nosale
That's beyond my skills. Does anyone reading this know how to help him?

I used mine for 2 years and the seals started leaking out all of the fluid!
Oh wow. That sucks, because it's way past the warranty period.
Nice oil stain on your cement. It makes me wonder if you did it correctly. 🧐

Thanks for watching!
I should have done that to my front wheels when I got it....they are rusted on
A lot of penetrating oil may get them loose
