Parting at Yangguan Gate - Custom Inlayed Figured Purpleheart Xun in B3

A rendition of the ancient melody Parting at Yangguan Gate. This beautiful melody was originally composed centuries ago for the Chinese guqin, and lends itself perfectly to the haunting, breathy timbre of the xun.
This piece is performed on a very special xun, a custom bass in B3 I made for my daughter for her recent fifth birthday, made from a beautiful piece of figured purpleheart wood, inlayed with a woven pattern of malachite stone and adorned with a high grade 6mm akoya pearl for her birthstone. Despite being a bass xun, this xun is very light, with small holes and exceptional responsiveness across the range, with a rich, haunting tone.
