Guys. Im sorry ive been sneakin in and messin up all your sculpts. Its just so addictive though!
lolll
Please go back home, I've been trying to correct my current retopo for 5 days straight
I need to study, but I can't leave the mess you made there out of my head!!!
I didn't expect myself to watch all 18 minutes of this, especially since I've never taken a deep interest in 3D sculpting; but you described everything in such an interesting and neatly put way that I just kept watching! I genuinely want to try this now, it looks like so much fun 💙
I bought the course and have been working through it and it's been really great so far. Very to the point, informative, simple breakdowns anyone can follow and at a great price. While I've worked with other 3D programs before I'm pretty new to Blender but always wanted to learn and Danny does a great job explaining everything right down to the hotkeys. Can't wait for the rest of the videos keep up the good work!
can you show your results?
This is freaking mindblowing bro, you really divided a difficult thing into smaller easy things. Thank you.
Looks great! I've definitely been looking to improve & this course looks very helpful
WOW! What a great, well-planned, presentation and so easy to follow. Got 3/4 of the way through it and jumped out to buy the course. New Blender user here (at 75) and looking forward to stepping up past my beautiful donut.
You give me hope Fletch! thanks man
Absolutely amazing. Is the course downloadable?
@@jmundart Yes, on Gunroad, and it $75
@@ireveli3203 really worth
Oh Danny, my man, only the other day I was looking at your vids and wondering where you'd gone. You do not disappoint, nor have you ever. For all your hur-pronunciation (😏) you are hands down the greatest, and the one I always return to for inspiration when it comes to stylised characters. ❤
Omg this is exactly what I've been looking for 🙌
I will have to check out your course! You explain it so well!
Thank you for making this Danny. As someone new to character sculpting I never finish my heads because so much feels out of place after an hour or two that I lose all desire to continue. This approach tho seems more manageable for me and the way I like to learn. As for future chapters it'd be nice to see ones on texturing, hair, and even clothing. I'm sure you've covered all this before but having it more up to date with your knowledge and in one place is very convenient.
I may be a year late into finding this video, but the value and knowledge actually explained in detail why the knowledge matters is lifelong valuable, time saving, ease of use like no other in this category of Blender topics. Thank you, Danny Mac, for making this video and the time taken for us!
I am just starting on Blender, and this is literally the BEST video I have came across. I’d sit through whole classes with this guy.
I just finished the sculpting course and I give it 5 stars
tbh, i was a little peeved that it doesn't include the full creation of the end render yet, but it doesn't matter because the tips and and details are so quality. For example, he starts the sculpt with a cube, whereas pretty much any other youtube tutorial will start with a sphere. Later on you see why using the cube is better, because you end up with a primitive head that has a clear separation of the face and the rest of the head (separated by the hairline). This is just one example of the slight details that he understands and covers that you won't necessarily get in other tutorials.
highly recommend and I really want to see the rest of the course!
So easy to follow through! I highly recommend this for anyone starting. This and the 3d classes I've taken have been tremendous help.
This looks great, i hope you'll expand the course or a follow up to cover for the entire body.
This!
Yeah I'd like to see a full body class too!
I want the whole body, too! I see so many resources for stylized heads, but not much for how to do the rest of the body! I would prefer stylized body sculpting to be included over retopology because there are so many resources out there on retopology!!!
@@tuxgirl Theres a youtube channel "Dikko" that has a very nice tutorial on doing a full human body! On my first attempt I managed to get an actually good looking human! ua-cam.com/video/01WQlMD7dsk/v-deo.html heres the link for part 1 of the 12 parts "modeling for animation", those are really great videos! And since its really basic, you can use it for any style. Hope I could help :D
Yes!!!!!
Looks like an amazing course! Congrats! I'll be buying it very soon!
This is really really awesome! Im Very happy you ARE doing blender training!
Thanks! I have some background on modeling but never did the jump into sculpting, gonna get a tablet for christmas and have to include this course with it!! love ur work dood keep it up!
Danny, Excellent tutorials! I do appreciate your teaching style, it is knowledgeable, encouraging, and humorous! I have been fascinated with digital sculpting for a while and wanted to take the next steps in learning how, but couldn't find tutorials that fit what I was looking for. Your Digital Sculpting Course and approach to digital sculpting came along at just the right time. I have watched your first 4 videos and discovered already that I still have many gaps in my understanding of the Blender UI. I'm very eager to learn though! I'm sure there will be more hurdles to overcome as progress is made. I do feel as though I've got a pretty good guide this time. I am having a little trouble getting started with the Head-Sculpt-Start.blend/default workspace in your Blender Files folder. When I opened the file, blender opened with the default cube in all three windows. I deleted the cube in the large "workspace" window and ended up deleting the default cube from the two side windows as well. Deleting the cubes revealed Head-Shape-1 in all three windows, very nice! I felt as though I was making progress. However, when I went to hide head shape 1 with the icon in the "collection" window/pallet thingy, it hid the reference in the 2 side windows. Selecting and deleting the head shape in the large workspace window deleted the head shape in the side panels as well. I've watched your Head-Shape-1 video a few times through and I'm a bit stumped. If you have time, could you walk through your process of setting up these three windows so I can set up a new cube mesh without effecting the 2 side reference panels? I feel as though I missed something, a magic button or hotkey that makes this all work properly. In the meantime I'll keep poking around and watching your videos! Cheers, Dan
Just got the course! Can't wait to start!
just got the course! cant wait to take it!
Please keep posting amazing content like this. I love your process and your story is very inspiring l.
Great Video Danny, I appreciate it when you help others and I understand character creation better. It's something I've always struggled with and I can respect you clarifying and clearing ideas and concepts up.
I’m going to be starting blender soon because I’m helping to create characters for a game. This was very useful. Thank you
I just bought and started the lessons. It is perfect! Looking for the upcoming rest of the lessons, and if someday you do the same for the body, will for sure buy it! I can hardly stay concentrate, and have hard time to understand too many concepts at once, this format is just perfect for people like me, so thank you!
Small improvement you could add is to have the small addon showing which key of the keyboard is pressed, for non nativ english speaking people, it could help a bit. But it is understandable anyway.
nice one Danny always top notch, added to my personal wish list.
I just bought a blender course online for sculpting but it was hard to learn/follow along since the language was in korean so i had to read subtitles, watch what was happening- and then pause so i didn't get lost in the tutorial- watched the full 18 min of this and it felt so easy to follow along- definitely purchasing :D thanks!
Easy to follow and very clear tutorial, amazing!
Danny is a Wizard! And i highly recommend any material he produces. 👍
Just wanna say I am only on part 3 of the course (doing each multiple times before moving on) and your explanations and words of encouragement are fantastic. Sculpting was always something I wanted to do but seemed daunting to me. You make it enjoyable and I am already seeing results. Looking forward to more course updates!
Is the course only for heads or is it for characters
@@strawheart6 just head and upper torso.
@@JMcLarren can you show your results?
Hello, I want to buy this course. Did he show how he textured the head and torso, Made the blue eyes and lighted it?
@@esochibuike8477 yes did you?
Thank you Danny! ❤️
Liked and subscribed mate! Awesome characters!
Ayyy Danny boy! Nice tutorial mate, hope all is well, lookin fit dude!
This is one of the first videos that actually helped me do something 😳
Will definitely be buying this course once I get paid! while I'm able to to sculpt features like nose, ear and mouth most of the days, My Project almost always fails due to a bad starting point with a bad head shape.. Your little demo video here alone gave me some good pointers that I've never thought about doing, I wonder what other kinds of goodies you have in your bag :)
Just so you’re aware, he’s only released the retopology section since this original 8 sculpting videos over the last 7 months. It’s not a complete course yet. He says he’s going to make the hair section next, but after that I think it’s texturing/shading, then finally the render. I wish I knew how long this course was going to take to fully roll out when i purchased, as I probably won’t touch it again until it’s completed. At the current rate probably could be well into next year.
Great course nonetheless, learned so much. I just want to have a dope thing to show off as I get impatient with incomplete sculpts!!
Still appreciate your teaching me how to do hair in blender, you're awesome, just wanted to say that as i am literally making hair right now.
Would you mind making a course on completing the stylized body?
i wasnt sure to about buying the course, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut now i think was the best purchase ever, thank you Danny
I've barely opened Blender before, but got the course! :)
When I tell you I want this course SO BADLY!!! I've been trying to save ever since this was announced and the price only seems to go up 😭
I live basically hand to mouth so saving will take awhile. I wish there was a "pay in installments" option because I'd subscribe to it SO DAMN QUICKLY!!!
Get job Danny! You're out here giving the people WHAT THEY NEED!!!
Did you get it?
@@AverseKO nope! Still can't afford 😭
@@AverseKO I'd be willing to split the payment with someone because I am DESPERATE 🤣
Your teaching is extremely goodd... Im gonna learn now thanks 🌟🔥
Fantastic !! Just bought the course with the discount. Can't wait to get started, just waiting for the 7.7Gb file to download. Always found your work awe inspiring !! 😁
There is a discount? Where did you get it?
One day I am gonna buy this course.
OMG YES YESSSSSS THANK YOU
Thank you very much ❤️
Hell yea. Thank you sir
I also make such scenes and understand how much hard work and talent it takes. I like to see the work 🙂🙂
Can't wait for the next tutorial
I love you Danny
what a great tuturial :)
please don't stop😀, nice work
you're a genius!
we miss you, your videos and your silly comedy Danny ! Comeback !!
I missed you so much man ! I was waiting for a new video of you since the last time
Your course look really great, I hope I will be able to buy it soon
And during the video, I couldn't stop watching your face (3/4 view) and try to see the structure 😁
You have a beautiful face
Anyway thank you Danny for all your sharing, you are really amazing , so keep fighting ✊
Great tutorial
Sir you are amazing
"One simple word....QUIT" man that made me laugh! :D
Feels weird seeing my old buddy Luigi's art being used as references. And he always getting free models made of his characters. meanwhile I'm over here remembering the time I beat him in a online art contest. And still no one has created a 3D rendering of any of my characters for free. 😭
Happy for Luigi and very proud of him. He's come so far.
How's it going man? Good to see more posts from you. Hope all is well and thanks for the video.
Something that I've been curious about has been repurposing MetaHuman skin textures for custom characters. Any chance for a video on that?
Thanks man
I would like to make a small request. I love your work and a guide to making stylized females is great. Would you consider making a companion piece about your texturing technique in Blender to go along with it? Just a suggestion.
Danny Mac❤️
I’ve been waiting to throw money at you Danny Mac. 💵
You just cannot grasp my contentment and excitement. Jeez! Just why is it now that you thought creating a course was a good idea? I'm a zbrush artist but I guess I'm about to learn blender now. Can't wait for you to create a full character course. This is a dream.
Sculpting is painfull in blender and the worst thing is when you try to retopo for animation pfffff fuuuuuuk🥺
5:00 - Unfortunately the focal length setting in Blender is broken for the View mode (the bug was reported 3 years ago but still isn't fixed). You can see it when you compare it to Camera - the lens distortion is different. 85mm works more like 50 mm. You can use Camera for viewport (lock it to mouse), but then the numpad switches don't work properly. Or just use higher focal length in the View tab, like 120 mm or more.
It's affordable too!?!?!? I'm so glad I found your channel
sold!
How do you set up the reference meshes on the left like that?
Absolutely fantastic. I'll definitely be getting this for myself.
The thumbnail is what caught my eye and your style is incredible.
One more thing I'd like this to cover, is: how to (in the end) add particle hair for that real 'cinematic' look. Is that something that's possible for you?
A'la thumbnail (where they all have particle hair)? ^_^
Seems to be the course I'm looking for. Any ETA on the planned updates?
I am considering buying this course, however, I view it as incomplete. I want to make characters like in the course splash screen. So I need to know how to texture/paint and make hair...and maybe also sculpt the rest of the body. Is there any chance all that would be added?
In time most of this will be added yes. Texturing, hair, rendering etc. will be added and tomorrow I will update the product description to be more clear. As I add updates though the price will increase, but updates will be free for existing users.
The only thing I don't intend to add is the rest of the body as this will likely be a separate course - I view the head as something to be considered separately as it is so complex
Quit😂😂😂
Instantly subbed after that.
Hello! When will the full stylized character course in Blender be available?
Hi Danny! I just bought your course and loving it. Is this where I can ask you questions? It's brilliant how you provide us with references for comparing our sculpts. I'm wondering if it is possible to turn on the wireframe on your references. I think that would help me even more. Thank you for your course and giving me hope that I will learn how to sculpt 3d characters.
I wonder if you helped make this Zbrush book I have because this is how they break their sculpts down as well!
Will this course go further into full body, hair, clothes?
To date, where is the course at for as completion, does it show you how to complete the final model seen in the promo, textured, retopo and hair?
I just be zooming in and out to adjust brush size lol
I got the character head coarse, just wondered if you were going to update it with the other steps to complete chloe with the hair and the textures etc at some point ?
oh wow, the course doesn't show how he adds the glossy textures on the lips and stuff? that's actually a bummer. No hate to Danny, love his artwork but for 80 dollars...
that's a bit...
00:36 lmfao
Thanks for sharing, this video is very useful for freshmen
I want to learn 3D model sculpting modelling from you sir
Looks great. I understand that you want to add more chapters later on, it would be great, however, to have some better understanding on "what U get for the money" :). How many hours are those 8 chapters so far? How many do you still plan? And what sections do you plan or think could be added? Will you also upload to blendermarket? Thanks!
Hey, Thanks for the feedback! I actually pureposely didn't write number of hours because I think it is misleading. People tend to assume more hours = more value but that's not necessarily true. This course will be shorter than many similar but that's because I put a lot of hours into planning and editing so the information is packed in tight. It's in fact much easier to deliver "more" hours than it is fewer, but people don't see that, so I left it off.
The other questions I totally agree need addressing and you can expect to see that reflected on the product page very soon, so thanks! I will indeed upload to blender market once my initial promotional period has finished :)
@@DannyMac3d Word. I do not like long long lectures. Short and concise one is better
@@DannyMac3d That's great, I don't have time for something 40 hours long. However, I'm curious, what is the longest lesson and what is the shortest lesson length? For me 10 minutes of dense content is perfect (in other words, this first lesson was great)
Dannyy come back to use. We miss you ☺♥ We need more videos
The gremlin is actually alive inside of blender.
I'm already 00:11 seconds in and you're already talking directly to me - yes.... yes I do know all too well 😅
hey brotha, awesome video man. amazing job just breaking it down, super easy to understand so much appreciate my friend. Most def liked an sub, thanks for the video... I'll be watching the rest! See ya around!
Danny, this looks great. Would it be valuable to somebody in ZBrush, and what skill level do you think this is best for?
I think you could absolutely translate this to zbrush. I may even work on a tutorial on how you might go about that :)
I made this nice and slow for beginners. Just waiting for feedback to see of anything needs clarifying moving forwards
@@DannyMac3d perfect. I’ll buy this now then. I’ve always wanted to learn Blender sculpting so I may just give it a shot there.
1:06 bro this is literally how my brain works 🖐️💀
This video really is amazing and helpful, but I got to the point where I had to add the subdivision surface and it just kept kicking me out of the app after i clicked on it. I tried basically all the other buttons and none of them kicked me out--only that one button. I mean, what do you think might be causing that and is there a way to fix it? Please and thank you!
great explain
is this for absolute beginners?
Just use free sample and modify from it hehe. Or just make pixel and say that is my style lol. Like picaso who know if he can draw or not lol
I request you to put "Step by Step Base Meshes - Arrietty" course on artstation plz
Do this course teaches how to sculpt hair like in the Zbrush course (Hair Tutorial Package)?
is the course finished yet? I cant view the Chapters list in your site, so i dont know how much progress this class yet.
Cool
How beginner friendly is this course? Or, in other words, are there any fundamentals in particular I should try to familiarize myself with first?
It's very beginner friendly 🙂
is it a big difference if I dont create a " home grid " and leave
it as it is
