  • In this video I have this 2012 Mercedes S350 w221, and I will be changing the front lower rear control arm, in this case the passenger side, but by the time I finish editing I have also done the driver side and will be showing how to to the torque tightening sequence.
Please do comment if the torque settings are not correct as I found it hard to gather the information.

Do you have to do a wheel alignment after this job?
Do you have to do any kind of adjustment to the air shock before or after this job?

I dont believe changing this arm would alter the tracking of the vehicle, so I dont think a wheel alignment is needed. I did not do anything with the air suspension before or after. Everything I did its on the video..

@@DaringBeefcake They are saying on BenzWorld that I need to let the air out of the shock. I have a 2013 S550 but the ball joint control arm looks exactly like the one you replaced on your 2012 S350.

@@floridatravelvideos To be honest I was under the same impression, when i had a look at replacing mine, then saw a video where they do release the air from the strut using software, but also saw a few vids where they don't so I gave mine a go and it was ok. to be fair its probably safer to remove the air from the strut, and avoid issues or injury. also the s550 might have different air pressures to the s320. may be a little more research is required to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the informative video! By the way where is your Garage, London? You can be a great help for your fellow W221 owners, it would be greatly appreciated 👍 Best regards buddy!

Thank you and regards to you too, I don’t really repair cars outside of the ones I have on the vids.. so keep an eye for more vids on the w221, great car.

Hi, yes it did. However there are other suspension arms that cause the same noise.
