Very good video, love his politeness, calmness, and the way he articulates his information. No silly music is definitely another plus.👍 I’ve been looking for a good tutorial on this exact subject. Thank you. You’ve exceeded yourself young man.
@@keytothegate68 I think that depends on where you live, if you're in a climate with long winters maybe yes, if you're in a warm climate the RWD cars are more common. Also all W211 AMG's are RWD.
Very informative video. Thanks for the torque specs. It's good to see that every nut, bolt and balljoint comes apart so easily. 😉Isn't it necessary to lower the air pressure in the air spring before removing?
Great Video! You are great explanation step by step as if I was going to do this my self. Great workplace to work air conditioning, all the tools you need as your disposal. You make it look so easy your not even dirty! You can work on my car anytime. Only thing is the dealers charge too much for the simple things like changing the light bulbs. Need to find a reasonable price and a good mechanic.
I'm trying to find that bomb tool for the airline fitting also. Google shoes tools for actual bombs that blow up. Now the FEDS are gonna knock on my door
I had to pick up a compact right angle impact wrench plus a special generic Mercedes ball joint kit from eBay but did manage to complete the replacement on the vehicle. Alternatively, I have heard of removing the hub and pressing the ball join on and off with a shop press.
Damn seems like a lot more to remove the whole hub. I want to this ball joint job in my drive way but I'm afraid no matter how high I lift the front end might not still be enough room for the ball joint tool@@davehancock7305
My local mechanic installed these camber bolts (Mercedes Suspension Eccentric Bolt Kit - Febi Bilstein 0003300018), but he said that with the provided symmetrical washers and nut it is not possible to adjust the camber. He said that I need asymmetrical washers to be able to adjust the camber. Could you please share a video showing how to adjust the camber with this kit?
Hello Sir, about preload before torque the nut... I've done what you taught but my front tire is too deep into the fender. specifically how to determine the preload size with a jack. Help me 😅
Tie rod ends will ship with a locknut as well as certain control arms. However you usually get everything thats 100% necessary to refresh with a control arm purchase with Lemforder and Delphi in my experience. A locking nut isn't gonna save you if its loose anyway
80-120k miles usually. Everybody is different, just drive until you hear the first noises like creaking, clicking, or thudding and replace the entire assembly at once
you did not explain why there was a grooved bolt that fastens the control arm to the subframe. Camber adjustment! You must take note in which direction the excentric grooved bolt was installed in order to reinstall it in the same direction. The presence of the grooved bolt means that previously there was a camber adjustment done. After replacing the lower control arm you definitely will do a alignment, yes, but if the camber is good after reinstalling the excentric bolt in the same way it was installed before replacing the control arm then you are ahead of the game. Camber adjustment on the w211 is tedious. You might just save yourself some trouble, especially if you are DIY without having the use of a car lift.
Excellent video, he carefully covered everything necessary

Glad we could be of some help!
Great video Mike, it’s so much better without the music while you’re working
Absolutely love how clean the work is done.
Excellent video! My 05 E55 Wagon is in need of this at the moment.
Thank you!!! Great job!! Really appreciate these videos.
GREAT VIDEO MADE IT VERY SIMPLE FOR A NOVICE TO PERFORM IT..
And more gold for us! Thank you
Also worth mentioning that the W211 4Matic has a complete different front suspension
Can you do W-211 4-matic. They are far more common than RWD

@@keytothegate68check my channel for the front send 4matic suspension job.
Yes!! We need more 4-Matic videos. Most of us don't have the RWD or E55/63s... @fcpeuro
Please make a video on replacing rear subframe bushings on a w211
Fabulous! Just fabulous!
Well done. Need to do mine as well, but i think I'll need 1 day for 1 side as i don't have an elevator 😂
thanks for the videos!

Please keep these coming! I assume the E55 is mostly the same?
I like the way of explanations and expects
😬

Thanks you . I’m about to tackle my W211 soon
Great video. At appx 26:00 you say the torque value for the sway bar link is 70 Nm, but a few moments later say 130 Nm. Which is correct?
Simply brilliant!!
Great video, really clear. Thanks!
Great job👍🏾
Air line tool 🔧 special too where can get and why can not show Air line tool clearly?

how important is it to torque the lower strut to control arm bolts with the suspension loaded? Because I forgot to do it that way...
You want to do it at ride height so you don't tear the bushing in the arm!
No washer on the forward control arm to spindle nut?
25:20
I don't believe there is one, my 2006 E55 didn't have any and the parts definitely look original.
You think its possible to change the lower ball joint on jack stand? Looks like the c clamp would be to big for a jack stand job

So if I didn’t have lift , can I torque components loaded on the ground or ????
You wouldn't be able to torque while on the ground since you have to put your tire on to put it on the ground then your wheel/tire will be in the way.
use another jack, lift the hub until its RIGHT about to lift the car off the jackstand, thats enough load on it to simulate ride height
Have 2004 mb e320 4matic had clicking noise thought it was cv boot but i figured if i got to do all this i am going with same kit as well

Awesome video. Just subscribed. How do you know what the correct ride height is when the car is raised on jack stands? Please help
I bought bothe cv axels you think i should do upper and lower control arms and tie rods what else
I can see u put fit caster screw....on the lower control arm. Did u adjust the caster afterwards?
The MB owner took it for an alignment right after we finished filming!
Heard both of your drift cars are for sale. Is there a listing for them online or just being sold directly?
Hello Sir, about preload before torque the nut... I've done what you taught but my front tire is too deep into the fender. specifically how to determine the preload size with a jack. Help me 😅
I think I made a mistake in determining the preload height... my car is W211 2009. How do I determine the preload height correctly?
How many miles on the synchro design arms? Sucks about the ball joint but lifetime warranty on them?
The panoramic sun roof? Any insights?
Excellent video,I guess this apply for 2008 Mercedes Benz E320 too right? Thank you!
That should be the same general process, thank you for watching!
Good job
Do you have to use new fasteners?
Tie rod ends will ship with a locknut as well as certain control arms. However you usually get everything thats 100% necessary to refresh with a control arm purchase with Lemforder and Delphi in my experience. A locking nut isn't gonna save you if its loose anyway
Won't it need an alignment now?
Absolutely, you always want to get one done after doing any front end work like this.
how long is this job per side?
Nice video. But its not so easy to put the Arms out. I broke my First Ball joint separator Tool.
عمل رائع وتفصيل مذهل
Is my 04 e320 4matic the same
What Quantity of kilometres until swap lower arm

I love how these 'murica cars are so rust free. Must be a breeze to work on.
We most definitely have our fair share of rust buckets here in CT 😓

Ugh air strut to many problems
Video is unrealistic. I was way sweatier at the end
